hello i am psychopatric and i am psycho jeff and we've just won a day out with
0:05
the emperor
0:17
thanks for coming back guys it's been really appreciated and it's lovely to see you again especially you in that blue jumper looks lovely but seriously
0:24
thank you the um the subs are rocketing up we're doing quite well yeah i mean yeah
0:30
don't get wrong it's not hundreds of thousands but it's it's the right direction it's progress man absolutely really good
0:36
and some lovely comments as well thank you all for any one of you that have left the comments it's really appreciated thank you so much
0:42
but uh if i said thank you enough you can go i think so you think i've had enough thank yous you you've borderline
0:48
harassed people and um said thank you a lot so i think that's right i think so yeah i think i might be leaving there so
0:55
straight into the show and first thing we have to do is always pat what you're beating i am oh oh is this valamu big
1:03
surprise everyone i'm painting my uh blood angel hell blaster with the uh not
1:09
darren latham uh oh my camera is playing up a little bit there we go with our uh not darren
1:14
latham uh tutorial absolutely right um and oh his videos
1:20
officially are re-emerging on tick tock of all places really yeah i watched his uh how to paint gold
1:26
non-metallic metal and oh my gosh it's incredible it's so good he's makes it he's lots of
1:32
like and they're what those grounds they're back officially they're darren latham it's it's not not darren
1:41
so the he's like remixing his videos and he's putting them on take time um and
1:46
like i i haven't actually watched that one before because i've never i've had a lot of interest in painting
1:52
non-metallic metal i'd like to get there but i've got a load of other stuff that i want to do i see i glanced at it once
1:57
yeah i know that's all yeah and he does all these uh like all these different sort of like light browns and subtle
2:03
yellows and all that sort of stuff and it's like yeah it's looking good and then he puts an ion in yellow contrast paint over the
2:09
top and it's just like [Music] um just like
2:14
oh it's incredible um so anyways i'm i'm uh butchering his good name but he makes really good tutorials so absolutely um
2:21
that is what i'm painting the same thing over and over again though uh
2:26
from last week i'm i'm still really liking the plasma coils yeah i need to
2:32
i need to like highlight them i think like the the fluorescent blue is like a decent
2:38
base um but i i need to actually look at some tutorials and and figure out
2:44
the best way to uh highlight them up after that i put the black paint on a bit thick as well so i might i might just end up
2:50
pulling it all off and starting again in the right direction looking good so
2:55
um i'm just going to paint his uh paint his bags oh exactly tonight uh what we
3:01
were calling the trade webbing yeah we would say but yeah so uh
3:06
so it'll be uh holsters and uh yeah so i've just got some rhinox hide some dual
3:12
brown and some scrag brown and i'm just gonna go nuts fantastic um and and yeah
3:17
i you know you might be able to hear i'm a bit congested you are um i think i've picked up a
3:23
a wedding bug wedding season is here and i'm in stuffy marquees with hundreds of people
3:28
yeah always good two or three days a week so um it's uh yeah something has uh
3:35
something has crippled me a little bit we'll see what happens well if you do any major coffin fits we'll reconfigure
3:41
the uh the spaceship sensor machine i'll plug that into the parameters yeah any any sniffles
3:48
and if it is just lots of close-ups of your face you know that i'm either mopping my brow or my nose
3:55
and i don't want people to see that the view is definitely i don't know which is where something i'd rather see you with your finger up your nose with a banky
4:01
then after look at this boat race which is the less than two evils but
4:07
everyone knows what i'm painting constantly what are you painting i'm painting a big boy tonight we are
4:15
on the chaplain on motorbike primaries chaplin on motorway who just has more
4:20
gold than there's absolutely any need for whatsoever yeah so i'm actually following i'm doing a bit of a i'm doing
4:26
a bit of a path i am actually going uh with a painting tutorial i'm following
4:32
it exactly okay and it is the uh the lovely welsh lilt of the paint and
4:37
coach oh can't be beaten he's got a great voice isn't it gold yes the way oh oh oh
4:44
yeah it does does so yes yeah stirs me loins even as a straight man something about just just i would you know pay
4:50
good money just for him to just list is what make his way through the entire game yeah it's like like i know um like when
4:57
we did the intros for battle report at uh gw um it started off with the presenters
5:02
doing it and they were like we need we need well we said hey we should get toby longworth to do this and they were like
5:07
no like let's do it ourselves yeah um and then uh like pat and nick did the intros and they were like showed it to
5:14
the bosses and they were like yeah we need to be longer to do this absolutely right um that's an amazing voice yeah oh
5:19
for those of you don't know who he is you may know him if you've listened to him he's the he's the guy that does uh
5:25
the audible uh the audio books for the eisenhorn series i mean probably does more as well and he's he does he's in
5:32
his voices on he does at least one or two voices on angels of death yeah yeah he's saying yeah he's got a great voice
5:38
he really does yeah sublime yeah um yeah i would pay the painting coach to just list off every citadel paint yeah
5:45
he's just got a great voice he really has yeah so i'm actually yeah following his uh tutorial so uh this miniature has
5:52
been been sprayed black and then gone over again in black so to make sure that if i
5:58
had to do any filling in there wouldn't be a disparity between the black out the pot and the blackout the can
6:03
uh and i've just been painting in the gold i've been doing my best to be as careful with it as humanly possible
6:09
um to get it it's been a lot of filling in already although the painting coach bless him did say
6:16
don't worry about it and wait till after you put your icon flash sheet so that's why i will be doing next night is um
6:21
putting the viking flesh shades over all the gold and if i manage to find the time i will then maybe put a little bit
6:27
of the next paint to go from that which will be a color i don't use very often will be
6:34
liberated gold don't use very often to the point that water catches this one off path and i i don't use it very often
6:41
either because i think that is a brand new pot as well so uh not embedding the little ticky tick
6:46
noises yeah it is wonderful isn't it it's up there nearly as with starting a new pot of coffee yeah yeah yeah so but
6:53
yeah i i do love writing flashlight on gold i think it's really good my my all my favorite colors come from like the
6:59
first uh unit that i sort of was like hey i'm going to put some a bit of effort into the painting thing that was
7:05
some custodies and i was yeah trying to do glazing which is obviously i have no idea how to
7:11
do it at the time but uh yeah but like you're like yeah gold looks alright and you put raglan flashlight on and then
7:16
like some silver highlights and it's just chef's kiss yeah it's a beautiful drink it in yeah absolutely so that's where
7:23
we're at with regards to tonight so straight into the first first straight into our first segment we talk about it
7:29
pretty much first every time we you know it's common now warhammer plus or minus so i think i
7:36
think on three we need to say what we think of it this year that's a good way of doing it i think we should adopt that in the future yeah so one two three
7:44
minus normal services resumed after last fortnight
7:50
oh brutal oh what the hell is going on so we've managed honestly games workshop
7:57
come on for the love of [ __ ] gods what's going on you've you managed to start a new tv say
8:03
a new i'm saying tv series we don't know what talking about you managed to start a new tv series
8:08
and then have a week off after two weeks you literally have started a new job and
8:15
phoned in sick within two weeks of doing it is this the uh interrogator yeah so it has gone
8:21
episode week off episode week off yeah that's like the format oh come on really
8:26
i have i saw on uh like the warhammer plus subreddit someone said oh uh like i
8:32
haven't found the writing but someone was like oh this says the conclusion of the first ark which well it's going to
8:40
be three episodes i imagine there will be three episodes and then it will go on a bit of a hiatus
8:47
so hopefully it comes back i imagine they will fill the gaps with hammer and bolter
8:52
because they released they released a um it was ages ago now for the first age of
8:59
sigmar hammer and bolter and this this guy he like turns around and his armor
9:05
rustles and he tries to say his name and you can't hear it because the armor is just like
9:11
um which yeah might be the joke but i i don't think it worked um
9:16
i don't know what the only thing the goddess got me excited when there was no entire no episode of interrogator
9:21
because i thought we might have got a deep strike on it and either that did nothing devastating oh please be a deep strike
9:27
please do a deep strike if it gets the point that someone pretends slaps a cup of coffee that would be perfect so by
9:32
the time we by the time we release this like we usually release on a thursday we're filming this yeah so we should go
9:38
on a monday so episode three will have come out so maybe two weeks after um
9:44
there'll be a deep strike old man shaking his fist of clouds a bit early maybe yeah yeah you never know you can only hold your breath through a deep
9:50
strike that would be fantastic yeah so so video side of things we got a sigma
9:55
battle report and a uh law masters with a with a different presenter
10:01
yeah um i've got to be honest i don't really tune in to law masters that much i can't
10:06
say i do i know it's a bit naughty so then come on here for the emperor terry uh a tv
10:11
channel off or when you don't watch all of it no well i think we've talked about this before certainly in in um the pilots
10:19
that we filmed uh we're thinking like what what is valuable like what offers
10:24
the most value and law masters is whoever is presenting it um is someone
10:31
talking to a camera reading from an auto key and and it's quite it's quite dry
10:36
um and there's the artwork and the graphics and stuff behind it but i
10:43
you can watch stuff like that on youtube um with well is that oh what's that guy's name is it arbites ian have you
10:50
watched any of him i have not oh he's amazing he'll do like um here's like the entire
10:57
like because you know the you know when it was like with obviously the horus heresy which was the space marines having
11:03
handbags at dawn well it was that's not the first time they've had handbags have done they had it once before before they
11:09
caught some like the badab was and they they all sort of clutched their pales and got upset and bombed something
11:15
or other and you know you know it was like honestly i started listening to it is actually bothering unsounding like
11:21
the um starting sounds of like the whole problem of the trade agreement to the beginning of the phantom menace
11:29
not the taxation of trade routes we are well maker legal
11:35
yeah how did darth vader come into existence well it all started with it and anyway this isn't a star wars
11:41
pokemon but yes absolutely right yeah i'd start one of them um so yeah then
11:46
yeah so there's the chap called our bite he's ian and he does he does really good like 30 minute long with a whole
11:53
thing of putting the map in and i'm showing you what one off where and he does a really really good job of it to be fair so if he
11:59
i've watched a couple of them i think if you want to watch if i want to watch anybody talking about laura i'd rather
12:05
go and listen to him do it to be honest yeah um yeah law master doesn't do a lot for me no no and and battle report for
12:13
me as well like i think i've been thinking about this a lot obviously i for people who don't know i was involved in that report so my
12:19
introduction to the hobby was working in games workshop and i was primarily an editor on battle report and uh and uh
12:26
doing bits of videography as well and and i think like obviously there's
12:32
loads about reports on youtube and what comes across in those more so is like the personality of
12:39
the presenters so i really like watching tabletop tactics i think like um
12:44
is it beard and and like katie plays 40k yeah i think like their dynamic is is
12:50
just really good fun well up there up there as well for me is um
12:55
is winters yeah over at seo yeah and he does that um he does a really really good no it's
13:02
funny because the character of of of winters and generally he normally gets in somebody
13:08
pretty decent yeah with regards to be it being his opponent and i just think he does a fantastic job of what you know
13:14
anything and it's just loads of fun to watch and yeah you know yeah i think i think that's it isn't it and and i've
13:20
been thinking about it and i think that the the format
13:26
is that that was decided on is the issue
13:31
yeah um because there was a big i think there was a there was a brief from like the head of marketing who said we're
13:37
going to make battle reports they have to be under an hour which is tough you know because you know what summer oh yeah you watch some of
13:43
the winters and some of you know they can be like an hour and 40 long and even there i think that's with editing yeah
13:48
yeah and there's things cut out whilst they're talking about rules and all that sort of stuff and and um
13:54
tactics they essentially play them out in real time those are like two hours or something like that which which i think
13:59
is you see the presenters play the game and you see their characters come through in
14:05
a way that um with the game's workshop battle reports is to
14:11
to to cut it down you have to obviously chop out bits of the gameplay
14:17
yeah and smush them together but then to have it make sense you go in with your narration and your
14:23
interviews and stuff like that and there's a very very fine line between watching
14:29
two people play warhammer or watching two people describe a game
14:34
of warhammer that they've played yeah and i think it it is more in that category so you don't necessarily get
14:42
the back and forth from the presenters that that people are accustomed to yeah and i think that's a real shame um and i
14:48
think i think like you know i'm not being unfair in that no no criticism um you know as far as the brief goes it is
14:54
fulfilled they are like generally under an hour now um but as well like when we were making
15:00
them like we were cutting cutting bits out and they were like oh i did why did this happen why did that happen so it was
15:05
like okay so we need to go back in and show everything yeah but have it all condensed down and it's a learning
15:11
process they've never made anything like that before true um and i i
15:17
sort of was i feel like a creative force behind like the battle report there was me pat price
15:22
um uh nick uh presenter and then another like videographer so our combined
15:28
efforts like made battle report um
15:34
pat had the most experience because he obviously had it came from a channel that was already done yeah so the uh the
15:39
morlock guys um so so he was like a really good influence but i think again it was like
15:46
this brief and this fulfilling this to appease this and check that box rather than
15:52
thinking about like the character that goes into it so i think like the battle reports and the law masters
15:59
um and sometimes with the the master class like the painting the avatar like for me
16:06
they kind of go more in towards like the dry category so i like i started watching
16:13
the battle report um i sort of got through the intro um and i was like okay that's fine
16:20
well it's this thing i constantly talk about why aren't you striking while the f while the fire is well fire's hot why
16:26
aren't they going right this week's battle report we've just had a big all single dancing weekend last weekend yeah
16:32
why aren't we doing why aren't we playing horace harrison why aren't they playing horrors heresy they they got it right when they played necromunda yeah
16:39
because i know that you've you said before like why why am i going elsewhere to watch the first yeah battle reports
16:46
and i was like yeah that's a really good point um so they got it right with necromunda they've obviously had the
16:52
models for heresy for a while um i think that will come down to
16:57
their army painters just not having the time i would imagine
17:03
this we've talked about this before and you you i've literally have told me that you have literally gone around games
17:08
workshop cap in hand trying to find armies yeah armies which are ridiculous when you think about this the people are
17:14
bloody making you know and the fact that again i meant to mention winters they give winters a
17:20
cosex two three weeks in advance he generally if it's a codex for an army he hasn't got he's got a long list of
17:26
friends who have someone amongst them will have that army gives them the codex they figure out and
17:32
then they turn up and play bang the codex is released on the sappy winter's eyes either either normally on the
17:38
saturday we'll do a review of the codex yeah and then on the sunday plays it
17:44
and you're going and then you're waiting weeks for games workshop to catch up with people who are doing this already
17:49
and yet again for nothing yeah for nothing
17:55
and we said going forward games workshop we know you're not watching but you know at some point you never know someone
18:01
might mention something it needs to go like this write your codex when you're writing
18:06
your codex write a reasonable battle report send the reasonable list
18:12
army list send it to the painters get the painters to paint two of everything
18:18
put it in a box put it on a shelf and then it's there then for when you need to play it for the love of god you can't
18:24
have pat well not now pass but pat in the past wandering around trying to find armies
18:31
and then having to find them from like when he had the thousand sons was that a photographer who just happened to have yeah yeah yeah um and it wasn't what
18:38
he's wanted either was it was tyranny is this this was an amusing story um so
18:44
we had to uh play the black templars
18:50
versus it was going to be versus tyranids and uh one of the army painters painted up the
18:57
uh heroes so grimaldis and helbrept yeah um and we had the so there's every metal
19:04
and there's the army painters they're like the two painting departments in the in the studio and the army painters are
19:10
painted up they paint up the shots of the armies that you see like in the codex and some of the like say if
19:16
there's an heavy metal piece in the foreground the army painters are in the background
19:22
yeah they're not like the 3d printed like um heavy metal stuff because that's all made before production
19:28
i believe um um but the army painters get the
19:35
production releases off of the army so we had like the tank with like the melter on and yeah and that kind of
19:41
stuff so we cobbled together an army from that we didn't have an emperor's champion um so we were like we have to
19:47
have an empress champion and sort of like beg for it and got gotten the new primaries model uh painted up just in time um and the paint job on that was
19:54
great and the guy that painted it did it in less than a day wow um and it's
19:59
fantastic um and i'd like i got to hold the heavy metal version um and his
20:05
version like in my hands and i was like you can see the difference um but for like what i imagine would
20:10
have taken multiple days and then a matter of hours it was like the i'm in awe of the army painters and
20:17
what they can do anyway i'm getting sidetracked no no please do it was supposed to be um yeah black templars versus tyranids and
20:23
the tyranids was one of the uh like managers um armies
20:29
and all of the uh this is where my knowledge fails me um
20:35
the smaller units so they're like termigons tim gunston hem home again oh yeah so one of those two same chassis
20:41
just different arms yeah um they were superglued into apocalypse movement trays
20:46
and um it was getting to a point where we were gonna have to start filming really soon
20:52
and some of the guys were like yeah we we could film with this it's fine and it's like what if you kill one and then
20:58
there's five uh four like left in in the unit and he's like well we could put like a marker next to it or something yeah
21:05
you're rewriting 40k basically yeah and and um like one of the line managers came into
21:10
his credit was like yeah no we can't do that we need to find a different army yeah um so like yes thank god um
21:17
and uh yeah we we um me and uh me and pat
21:23
earlier on in in in our time there we went on uh what what we now refer to as
21:30
operation hearts and minds and um because marketing is part like there's all these tribes at games
21:35
workshop and some of them don't talk to each other and some some departments have have reputations and and through historical
21:42
things and this that and the other and and me and pat were just like well we don't know what any of that means we're
21:47
just gonna go and and we chatted to the photographers who were really accommodating and uh the team at
21:55
warhammer world um yeah and they were really nice as well and um
22:01
we were like yeah so we might be trying to borrow like you know scenery or armies or bits and pieces
22:08
burn them all pardon me space marine sensor machine um
22:14
he's so well trained you'll pick i don't know yeah um yeah so he does farts just in case you can use later just to just
22:20
check yeah i just saw the idea of lifting a buttock and it just gone brother which
22:26
is great oh fantastic now we found the instructions to him yeah we realized
22:31
you're gonna make him do so many other things megan do anything it's brilliant um that poor voice actor um
22:37
yeah so so we found a thousand sons army that um that was uh that was one of one of the
22:43
uh community photographers um it's ridiculous though that isn't it i mean it's
22:49
yes and no in some regards like i think like like um warhammer plus like i started
22:55
working there in april 2021 yeah and there was talk of warhammer plus
23:01
launching in july so april may june july like to get all of those shows off
23:06
the ground in that time was was like a big ask and we had to the sets didn't go in until
23:13
crikey like june july something like that they were all delayed yeah um and the whole every
23:20
every single element of warhammer plus got delayed a month because one person
23:26
got covered um so it was like i think
23:31
you know and again could be wrong just my opinion um i think they sort of went into it like
23:37
the the youtube painting and the product videography that they already do
23:42
to a very good standard um like i know the guys that do it and they're great they're very much used to that really
23:49
fast-paced quick turnaround like let's get this shot okay you need to rotate that mini one degree okay well it's
23:54
still all set up i'll reshoot it and i'll get the shot to yeah the editor drops it in bam done gone
23:59
um we made three battle reports and then only got feedback on one of
24:05
them like maybe a couple of weeks before release and we're like this isn't enough time
24:10
like we have to like reinvent the wheel and hodgepodge it all together you know and i know obviously it's easy
24:16
for me sitting here but you know and i don't you know run a multi-million pound company but the minute
24:22
that meeting was hard and went what's gonna be in it and someone went
24:28
battle reports someone should have then
24:34
yes so the army painters um so i was going about every metal and army painters and it's not in there every
24:40
metal paint for the box art they don't do anything else no the army painters paint the units and all that sort of stuff we weren't allowed to use um
24:47
heavy metal miniatures because they're just not designed to be handled in that way no um they'd collapse some folder bits and get destroyed um
24:54
and the army painter stuff was was quite late so when the when our like warhammer
24:59
plus army painters joined the team which was shortly after me maybe a couple of weeks
25:05
they were set painting the dominion box yeah um and that was the first stage
25:12
of sigma battle report that that was uh released so they were told
25:17
um and this is just an example of like how the department was run at the time um
25:22
like i hope it's improved um they were told paint the dominion box and they were like okay it'll take this long
25:28
um and they painted it and it looked incredible yeah um i think as it got
25:33
towards the end they were told to skip a few corners and stuff but you can see all like on the 360s and stuff like all the heroes and drastic
25:40
and the uh the on the boss on like nash tooth and stuff is is phenomenal those
25:46
guys really know how to do their job um so they painted that box
25:52
and in that box is like 1074 points each and then yandraster is um like the
26:00
big winged lady yeah yeah is is like an addition like it's not but if you take her out it's it's quite balanced yeah
26:07
yeah so we were then filming the report and we were like
26:12
you know this is like weird because the points is not it's not
26:17
a thousand points it's not two thousand points which is like the standard i don't know i don't know why i'm
26:23
telling you that yeah well yeah no no no that's fine so we were like well you know to 1074
26:29
points like we we have to say that we have to make a reference to dominion otherwise the whole thing
26:34
doesn't make sense yeah and the urakami is illegal because it doesn't have enough like battle line units i'm just
26:41
regurgitating stuff that people told me i don't really know what that means um and so we were like right okay so we say
26:48
it's from dominion we say it's the points and and they put all that time in painting the industry and we didn't even
26:54
use it like she has been used since in in other yeah so but um but again like
27:00
that's kind of how it went um we film it i edited it um and then and then my line
27:07
manager uh came up to me and was like okay so we can't reference it being
27:14
from dominion because that's a box that was limited release and we don't sell it
27:19
anymore so and and and i put in an email i think i was like well if we if we
27:25
don't reference it we have like a really weird point army that does
27:31
yeah it's like that isn't legal it's like you've just picked like another number yeah like it just makes zero
27:37
sense yeah if we take the dominion thing out and and and the army painters were painting that for six weeks
27:42
um and it's like and then we were getting all this sort of flack from it months
27:48
later when we filmed it and edited it and it was it was due for release and then it was like surely this should have
27:53
been picked up or even thought about months previous um
28:00
it's just to make everything go a bit smoother so yeah
28:06
anyway so go back i mean yeah we've been rambling for like half an hour that's fine that's fine
28:11
that's what we're here for we're here for ramblin but and it's an and you know one and most people
28:17
don't get to hear behind the scenes of these sorts of things behind the scenes of you know what
28:22
whatever might be traveling around their local shop but they don't get to hear the nitty-gritty of this sort of stuff so i actually quite pleased that you're
28:28
bringing it up yeah but i mean i i don't want to you know i i'm not going to go into like
28:34
my term with games workshop and yeah and you know i like here we are with a youtube channel
28:40
all about warhammer yeah yeah that's it but um like 100 plus was
28:47
something i was involved with that like consumed my life for like several months uh before i was like now i'm all right
28:53
um but uh and and you know i love the hobby and enough to you know invest loads of
28:59
time into a youtube channel and i don't i don't want to very conscious of not making this like a
29:05
struggle here's this thing and then yeah because like all the channels that are like i
29:10
hate games workshops so much so i'm going to make videos about it every week yeah um oh i get so draining and be so
29:16
negative and like i love the hobby and all that sort of stuff but like i say um yeah with with like the battle reports
29:23
and they they're getting there like i i think initially i was pretty much one of the only editors until they realized
29:30
how much work got involved so the format to go back to the format um the more you cut out the longer it takes to edit
29:36
because you have to just piece it all together so if we did and as well
29:41
here i go so yeah the format if if um like they play the game
29:46
in full and they have to make sure they get every single rule every single name
29:52
like correct and that's one of the things i enjoy in other battle reports when they get stuff wrong or like not knock a piece of terrain it kind of
29:58
humanizes it yeah absolutely right so playing the game is quite slow because they're like okay we need this rule
30:03
there's a guy in the room checking all the rules and all that sort of stuff and and stuff still stinks i wish i could
30:09
hire him for when i'm playing honestly just come down to uh by paul tim's house
30:16
yeah yeah yeah honestly the guy is incredible um like he does he he's mentioned by name um in in like the live
30:23
streams he's the guy behind the the warhammer live so yeah people know his name the guy's called raph yeah um and i
30:28
love him he's amazing um he's such a nice guy and he like just has so much
30:33
rule stuff stored in his head i thought you were gonna then say so much patience
30:40
so yeah the playing of the game is quite slow um because there's a lot to check in the rules because it's games workshop
30:46
they have to get everything right yeah but they're kind of needlessly playing
30:51
some of it when it's all gonna get cut out anyway so that the playing of the game is quite
30:57
slow the editing is slow because it's like okay so that we need to keep that bit in
31:02
like you we might have i think it was like four sections from each turn that would play
31:07
back in real time that either went really well or really badly for that player um so it's like oh you attack
31:13
this guy and do nothing um and then the the just incremental stuff they're just like yeah i moved those guys up and then
31:19
and then they just sat there that's talked about in like in the narration um
31:25
so it all takes so much time whereas if they're a bit more relaxed with um
31:30
the filming of it that would be faster and then you could if you edited it in real time it would pretty much take that
31:36
long to edit if it took a day to film it would be a day to edit well here's a question
31:42
why can't why can't and i might do might be a strange thing
31:47
to say i can't that will probably two parts why can't that report be two parts two
31:53
parts tune in next week oh you know black templars are in the middle of getting an ass kicking tune in
31:59
next week and see what happened do you know what i mean yeah yeah yeah i think the issue would be like nobody does that and then if it's if it i'd
32:05
feel like i was being shortchanged for like a service that you pay for well yeah but i think
32:13
if it started with the words black templars versus whoever part one
32:18
you go well i know i'm only going to see half of this tonight you know what i mean yeah the next part next week so you
32:23
know but i i think it all needs to be sorted out a
32:28
little bit it really does and like i say they need they aren't doing a very good job of dragging it back from the
32:34
youtubers because the youtubers are just leaving them dead the only way they do it which would be a really shitty trick
32:40
would be to stop giving them the codex early but i think they do so well out of out
32:47
of the influencers and oh massive creators and whatever you want to refer to the mouse and that's something to talk about with the horace harris event
32:53
as well but this this is an interesting thing so um there is a
32:58
system at games workshop which you have access to on your computers called the administratum which just gets shortened
33:04
to the dam and codexes are released to staff that have access to that like
33:10
three months before release yeah um like i remember printing off uh so the first
33:15
battle report that we filmed in the studio was like i think the third one that we actually released it was pat versus
33:21
louise um with the orcs and blood angels yeah um and i remember printing off the old
33:27
codex like just being like okay and i imagine you know obviously there'd
33:32
be people out there that would have killed to get all the way at the time and i think that's where all the leaks coming from like with it when the
33:37
codexes get released someone's just been like okay well i'll download that and then uh print it off for all we reckon a
33:43
lot of the leaks come from the uh the play testers as well don't they yeah play testers i think the photography studio as well because they take the
33:50
pictures so far in advance like i i think i mentioned that um like i saw the squats
33:55
like a year ago yeah that's right yeah yeah and i remember because i haven't really talked about it because i can't
34:01
really remember what they look like um but it made me giggle because there's there's some vehicles that are being released and um and i was like oh that
34:08
that reminds me of like starbuck from red dwarf yeah yeah um and
34:14
an inner comment like when when the um when the hoverbike got revealed i saw someone saying hey that looks like star
34:20
work and i was like vindication but that that wasn't what i was thinking
34:25
of this there's like an enclosed like a vehicle like that and you know like the transport spoilers yeah
34:32
massively yeah you heard it here first there's a vehicle with a roof on it
34:40
finger on the pulse new zea oh deary me so
34:45
then to round up it's um as we've already announced it's a minus yeah we kind of went on on a big tangent and
34:52
that's fine but to recap in the you know we get to peel you know here and behind the curtain of uh yeah
34:58
of warhammer of warhammer plus which is you know is interesting for me because at the end of the day i like to see where the bloody money's gone
35:05
oh talking a lot you ready it's the final countdown
35:11
to what 10 days and then get me assassin is it 10 days i think so
35:17
thanks for waiting i logged into uh my warhammer account the day and it was on 10 days see i i got um i pre-ordered the
35:25
orc yes um and and the way it's worked out is quite good because i guess we can do like hey
35:31
we've got a warhammer plus you know we're getting one we have one of each yeah but i kind of regret not getting the uh the latex cloud assassin but
35:37
you'll get you'll get access to buy it oh do i yeah oh so you'll get access to buy it but uh
35:44
you know so there's there's still a lot so you know if you want to get it you'll be able to so yeah well i don't think i care that
35:50
much about it to be honest um to buy it says the man who buys everything i know yeah yeah yeah i
35:57
always impressed you said that with a street fight yeah the eagle eyed of you will notice
36:03
uh above jeff's head is the new chaos knights oh christ i never even noticed that
36:09
oh for the love of god yeah i've got a problem but anyway um i think the with it with the assassin
36:15
being like a bit more of like a display piece yeah well yeah well he isn't well
36:21
he is oh by quentin he isn't he isn't really because the fact that it comes on a base that it's it's
36:26
playable although it is really weird that you've got like this sure there's going to be some weird rule that you can't just move the scenery around the
36:32
table and i get the impression he might be removable from the scenery i would yeah you could certainly make it yeah so
36:39
well i mean but i think he is i think that he's on a base inside the scenery as well so you can play him outside of
36:44
it so that'd be pretty cool yeah so uh yeah so it looks like the countdown has begun i may well uh may
36:50
well have him by then you never know by the time we next do the next review show we do this every every couple of weeks
36:58
the excitement is palpable finally and then we can decide if a plus
37:03
was worth it the interesting thing i think we'll have to do it might take more than an
37:08
assassination we think whether it's worth it or not we'll have to do like a year-round review we might have to um which overall
37:16
i mean spoilers i think it's been a bit of a misstep yeah um but i hope it improves of course i i you know like i
37:24
say this all the time i don't want it to fail but i you know i'm like i say always i'm
37:29
playing me command point and keeping it on overwatch because keep an overwatch on it because
37:34
it costs us all you know all of us that have paid for it cost us our money yeah so yeah i want it to be good i mean i i
37:40
originally bought it i paid for the year um and let's be fair i think i i originally bought it because i wanted to
37:46
see my own work online absolutely like i i obviously like but i quickly realized
37:53
pardon me um so yeah i want to see my own work and then i quickly realized i spent so long
38:01
editing these battle reports i hit play on the first one and the warhammer logo i can't watch it
38:10
it's like i've wasted my money it's like i've spent so long editing it
38:16
and so basically what's happened is you just spent a lot of money on an awk yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah pretty much hey i
38:23
mean interrogatory was good yeah well you know interrogators uh yeah well we'll see three parts just took the
38:29
window sales a little bit though i mean hopefully it's hopefully it's more like maybe it's a mid-season i wouldn't be
38:35
surprised if they did a mid-season break i would be disappointed if this was all we got for the year yeah um just
38:43
yeah but time will tell i mean like realistically it could go either way because say like
38:50
um how many episodes was angels of death eight ten eight are coming back
38:57
i was only as many as ten but it was like you had to count it on two hands didn't you yeah yeah and and they took a mid-season break and it went on for a
39:03
while and and then um like with with the tower stuff and it was like three ten minute episodes
39:10
um that was like oh well that's disappointing yeah so this
39:15
like jury's out could go either way i'll be very sad um if it's only three because i'm really
39:21
enjoying it yeah yeah me too because it's it's the first thing of that sort of uh of that ilk that's really sort of took
39:28
my fancy really so yeah yeah right then so quick review of things
39:34
that games workshop have brought up that have sort of caught our eye yep i did ramble about warhammer plus there my apologies
39:41
that's all right i have the idea of uh you know seeing the inner cogs at work or you know like
39:46
i say spent enough bloody money on it i want to wear how it works so
39:51
no news to anybody the big thing over the last couple of weeks really horus heresy the box has been shown so whole
39:57
loads of new stuff in it whole loads of new marines uh pre-existing terminators which uh to
40:03
be fair are still very very nice and then a new plastic kit version of the
40:09
spartan battle tank and a new plastic kit version of the contempt of dreadnought
40:16
when the price was announced the other day and they said it's going to be a shy
40:22
under 200 quid who knows how much size could be under 200 quid by a penny for all we know i immediately did that thing where i
40:29
took a sharp intake of breath and so did my anus very thought that's that's going to be
40:35
that's that's a big old chunk of money but then i actually and it's not very often i say this with regards to games
40:40
workshop i actually sat down and did what i believe the maths to be on it and i could be out
40:46
seems to be a big old chunk of saving really big saving honor to be honest i'm quite surprised it looks like it's a
40:53
better value for money box than the necrom under box which is 180 quid that's quite a lot yeah quite a lot of
40:58
money for some fleas [Laughter] you know
41:04
i think you're right i think perhaps because it's a new gaming system yeah they want people to adopt it yeah so
41:10
they've knocked more off than you know and you know and the thing is people go oh well you know you go well it's not only is
41:15
the fact you're doing quite well on the fact i was doing the maths just based on minis but then you do the math based on
41:20
these and then a rule book and then you know all your templates because it still works on templates
41:26
so we think and then two really nice characters in there you know um again
41:32
if we go by the sort of standard of games workshop for captains you know it's 20 odd 20 quid each you know so it
41:38
could be as much as 25 pounds each and 50 pound before you go start the spartan tank
41:45
was about a ton when it was a forged world one really so taking it into plastic it's going to be if it's if you
41:50
go like anything like a repulsor executioner which is 60 quid it's at least that it's going to be i would say
41:56
it's going to be more than that it's a big land raider it's going to be more than 60 quid so i think the price of the box
42:01
albeit it's still 200 notes for toy soldiers let's not be you know let's not be daft about it it's not going to be
42:07
cheap but for the actual price especially if you can get somebody in on it i think it's
42:13
it's not bad and there is some really really nice stuff in it it doesn't float my boat because i'm not a horus heresy
42:20
person i know that there is other factions so i do sound like i'm being a big glib but it's mainly just space
42:26
marines and space means i know you can go you can have adeptus mechanicus and you can have the uh that variant of
42:32
imperial guards which i can't remember the name of but so there is other things in there but it's literally space marines
42:38
handbags are dawn i'm not hugely impressed i want to see all the things on the go which obviously can't have
42:43
chaos because it's too early yep you know going you know it's not likely really
42:49
going to have orcs just so 10 and up but it's not yeah it's not it's not doing a lot for
42:54
me with regards to the concept of it it might be a really fantastic game to play and hats off to
43:00
you if you get it but i'm just like a lot of people i'm supposed i'm looking at it just thinking
43:06
what can i mine out of it up to using 40k you know i can i can use the spartan for
43:12
my death guard army especially 26 plague marines in one that really floats my boat
43:17
um and the sicarian battle tank as well really cool really cool very nice model
43:24
interesting see how much that's going to go for but they've got some really good ideas in it especially the thing that i've
43:29
never seen them do before the idea that they're selling all the heavy weapons and the special weapons in a box oh yeah
43:34
selling it separately yeah which i thought was really cool i was really taking what i thought was such a good idea so
43:41
yeah i'm impressed steve johnny and they've you know they've made a really big song and dance outs of it for what i
43:46
never really thought was a game that that many people played and i'm thinking no is it right not a lot of people
43:52
played it and the idea was really putting the bells and whistles on if they're going to try and hype up
43:58
more purchases for it or did more people play it than i thought and this is their idea of keeping them happy i don't
44:05
really know well yeah who knows
44:11
they'll be they'll be i mean they've rebooted it in plastic they've made a very big song and dance about it i think they're really trying to get i mean all
44:17
the influences and everything that went yeah they've made a big big deal um yeah we didn't we didn't get an
44:22
influence or a invite but to be fair at the time i don't think we only had about 50 subscribers so i don't think we're going to be able so oh we have we have i
44:31
we oh what you mean we are official i mean it wasn't an
44:37
affiliate link so so nothing happened but um obviously my own i am worried video the pigment mixer of doom my i
44:43
don't know where mine is yeah um someone was like hey what's that and i was like i just searched pigment mixer on amazon
44:51
yeah like if you use citadel paints just get it it was a tip i picked up off
44:56
one of the warhammer plus army painters yeah i love those guys i can't say enough good things about them anyway
45:01
and i was like it's 8 quid and you get like two and uh you can don't don't spend a hundred quid
45:07
in a vortex mixer yeah and then he went out and bought one and he was like it just arrived and i was like oh my god hashtag influencer
45:15
do you know um the last time we were here i don't think it was on the show but the last time was here i managed to uh
45:22
be doing a stupid thing where i used it tonight and then i pulled it out of the
45:27
pot of paint whilst it was still going i managed to put it all over my t-shirt oh you remember that last monday yeah and
45:33
then uh and then the following night tuesday night being
45:38
painting the tim's night i went around there and did exactly the same thing
45:44
so the pigment mixer is brilliant but you may need an eye and a higher iq than mine to use it i think we need to get a
45:49
sign that says like this many days since big pigment mixer accidents
45:55
the best of it was when i first started do you remember the first time i used it i covered it in tissue paper so that i
46:02
thought oh i won't have that mistake yeah and then manage to just get complacent and go there's an idea
46:07
spinning thing comes and paints take it out of paint but keep it spinning that's just great yeah yeah yeah put the
46:13
pigment in there yeah but the pigment mixer is very very cool yeah so sorry i did i i said influencer and i was like
46:19
hey we're we're official influences now god help us all
46:24
for small scary things but um yeah so there's plenty of things in the horoscopy box that i'm interested
46:30
in but i won't be buying it i think i'd need to no i'd need to be looking to see if i could pick up some some bits off
46:36
ebay but further down the line it's all bound to be released in separate boxes isn't it i
46:42
feel sorry for duncan rhodes who has to buy the whole box just to like do a tutorial on how to paint a beaky
46:49
because they've got to get them out fast and he he's buying them from like a game store isn't he because getting workshop
46:54
don't send him anything nope um but i mean i'm sure he's making enough to to yeah i'm sure he is he must
47:00
he must have stopped i i'm convinced duncan will still have a contact i um i like
47:05
he absolutely will have friends and still talk to people but he ain't getting minis they play no no i know
47:10
they're not sending him but um yeah they must um because like um
47:15
because i've seen already that uh some people have been painting i've been because they gave everybody a beaky to
47:21
sit and painted me on the day they did and um [Music] richard gray who will probably at some
47:27
point in the near future come up as one of our hobby heroes yeah an amazing painter i've watched his uh over the
47:33
weekends i watched his blood angels beaky from the horus harrison oh he put that up yeah and he um he basically said
47:40
i they were all sitting there primed and now you know you you can sit down and paint one if you wanted i just put mine in my pocket and took it
47:46
over and painted it at home and and this is what he did it's well worth a look but we'll mention richie gray at some
47:51
point in the near future on hobby heroes because he is definitely worth a mention but um yeah so it looks very good and
47:57
like you say the contents of it look really great but without sounding down on it just not really for me i've enough
48:03
you know i'm i'm i'm playing 40k you've two armies of my own for it and got my son's army in that
48:10
as well and i really as well at some point in time would like to throw my hat into the ring more with kill team so
48:15
yeah i'm not i'm like if we ever venture into the battle report game yeah it's going to be
48:20
yeah yeah well the great thing is after everything you've talked about earlier on when you with your extensive knowledge of battle reports we'll know
48:26
how to play it and get it done quickly well i tell you what the the guys that run kill team were so nice yeah because
48:33
it was a new it was a brand new system and you know reading all these codexes and
48:38
stuff they were like we're the way things are worded they can be interpreted in so many different ways yeah it's not the other and they were
48:44
like we're gonna get some of this wrong so the first kilting game we ever played we
48:49
had the head rules writer come down yeah um i do know his name but i'm gonna mention
48:55
it because he's not like a named like yeah yeah person so um all that sort of stuff but
49:00
so nice and there was another guy that came down for um when they recreated the angels of death
49:07
yeah battle report there was a different chat because the rules writer was was busy but like they're like i get the
49:13
impression that they're like a small team it's like eight guys and um
49:19
yeah and and they tested it all like during coding and all that sort of stuff but they were just like hey we want people to play we want people to
49:25
like it like yeah just awesome well yeah i'm really really i'm really on board for kill team i like the way it gets
49:31
released i like the idea this this sort of idea that there's always one new one new faction yeah yeah or one one new
49:39
unit and then another unit gets a bit of an upgrade i think all that's really good i think it's a nice way to go about
49:44
it further down the line my dream would be maybe some alien mercenaries that will only exist in the kill team box that
49:50
they will never be an army i think that would be nice because um there's that one that's on the hexagonal board for
49:56
the age of sigma boys is it is it diacasm pass yeah well there's that i think it's called that which is one
50:02
where there's a there's like you know weird and wonderful fantasy creatures in there that don't exist as an army they
50:07
only exist in there and you know i'd like to see them maybe do that with them with that especially you
50:14
you probably haven't seen him with you not being at a a a gamer such but they're uh in the most recent rural book
50:20
there's like a like a i like a piece of art showing loads of different weird and wonderful alien races and there's one
50:27
that is effectively looks like a broccoli a big piece of broccoli with a gun incredible walking along the battlefield i thought
50:34
i thought you know make them or don't make them and i'll just stick gums on broccoli and play and make my own rules
50:40
for them [Laughter] what do you think is you only get a week out of them and then you have to go by somebody yeah more broccoli that would
50:46
still be cheaper you'd be like this this always this army's gonna biodegrade um i hope well
50:52
let's get this game done fast but yeah just it'll be like um if you if you don't fall if you if you don't you
50:58
should follow um louise sugden on on instagram who uh she goes by savage or guy yeah is that right
51:05
yeah and she did an absolutely amazing piece of uh reel that i must have watched about 50 times now which is the
51:11
finger with the gun oh yeah yeah and then when silly billy say that will hammer
51:16
isn't the greatest of all time and she's just got a little angry face and she just puts it on and there's a pair of hand a perfectly fitting pair of arms
51:23
holding the plasma pistol plasma gun comes back up genius yeah that's how my um that's how my broccoli guys would be
51:29
i just have a pen and a set of plastic arms with guns straight onto a real broccoli yes that's
51:34
the way forwards tend to stand more regular well i don't know maybe i don't know if
51:40
yellow flusher was that weak maybe that's it i i've heard you could have the purple head of broccoli is like your sergeant
51:46
yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that's it so there's different types of broccoli so
51:53
you imagine stanton and waitrose and go that broccoli definitely looks like a special weapons guy yeah
51:58
yeah so you've got your standard broccoli rank and file tender stem primaries lieutenants um and then see
52:05
that's drawn into me as well the way you say lieutenant because that's the way you should say like that is the way you should say lieutenant
52:11
in the uk is that correct yeah that's right and i remember there was a debate as well when we were trying to get this battle
52:16
report out and it was like it's all just coming out maybe something maybe maybe
52:22
maybe yes it's maybe it's just you've got a higher temperature it's just it's accident accessing a bit of your brain i
52:27
think any time i talk about that report it's like a bit of a trigger warning and it all just comes like it just it's pulling out um there was a debate with
52:35
um in in a voice over somebody said uh the stormcast eternals run with their
52:42
axes whatever they were yeah hefted
52:47
and and we got a note back from someone who was like hefted
52:53
that's not used in this scenario surely surely you mean lofted
52:59
and i was like why why are we debating this and i look i looked at the dictionary definition of
53:04
hefted and it was like holding a weapon above your head and i was like okay so that fits because the models are like
53:10
like that yeah like tuscany style just um i was just like why why i was like this
53:17
is why the battle reports aren't doing too well because it's like you're nitpicking individual words i'm just
53:23
impressed oh and the orc battle report there was a piece of scenery that was an outhouse it was an orc toilet and it just so
53:30
happened that the big battle took place on the toilet and there was references to it and it was really funny um but i
53:37
had to edit them all out because nobody liked it i just think it's impressive the game's workshop higher suzy dent off uh
53:44
yeah yeah it's like brother you're the reason battle reports dry
53:50
warhammer dick should be corner other bullets yeah yes so yeah i'm not
53:56
going to say much more about horus heresy we've all seen it you know we're waiting on the next thing to get released for 40k
54:02
but plenty in there to buy if you you know the contempt of dreadnought again put them in a 40k army so it looks
54:08
really nice uh maybe thinking about wait for the individual boxes for me
54:13
so yeah yes yeah so there we go that's the reviews of course right so i mean i
54:18
know we review hobby products yeah um i'm at a bit of a loss what i really
54:23
what are we looking at this week well i have been out and bought something um
54:29
i i don't know how to to how to really introduce it something does look a bit different do you think it's um
54:36
yeah um you know i went out and bought a replacement i know you probably can't tell because he looks so much like my normal
54:42
ones but i've bought i've been out and i've bought special hobby glasses
54:48
yeah i know you i know it's hard to notice compared to my normal glasses i can't keep this up they look ridiculous
54:56
they'll look less ridiculous now oh wow amazing now they look fine don't
55:03
they boom so i've seen some of these there's a guy who does like some cross stitch on tick tock that is hilarious it does
55:09
avengers cross stitch as well does he oh wow that's what he did yeah on the first one when he was doing the one about his
55:14
uh his his muscles that guy yeah he's doing crosstalk he was doing avengers cross
55:20
stitch of the avengers team which is just genius incredible yeah so um you may well have noticed i'm wearing a
55:26
different piece of equipment yeah so here it is yes so oh and i'll take them off ah but i have
55:34
in fact gone out and bought a pair of hobby gobbles hockey gobbles
55:39
hockey gobbles hobby goggles i don't know if that's the right temple that's the time i'm going to use with yeah if i could just
55:45
harrison yeah so i've been out and bought some goggles yes uh they weren't really
55:52
an intentional purchase i was in hobbycraft that we have here in the uk
55:57
probably over called hobby lobby or something like that in the states i'm sure already mentioned that so if i put
56:02
them in front of the camera yes i move off the way chaplain run brought me way over there so nobody
56:09
cares about the models anymore yeah so we bought how could you when you look at this there's sex on legs here yeah so uh yeah
56:16
i don't bought these um they are to be fair really pretty bloody good they come with
56:22
a strap as well if you want one i feel like i'm on one of them qvc channels now review oh yeah yeah yeah please call up
56:29
because yeah we're running out yeah so yeah um yeah so they come with a strap as well if you're that way incline
56:35
but they are a movable set of goggles they come with different sizes of lenses which i can
56:43
show you here so you got a little box with more lenses in depending on what you need i have put these ones on for
56:49
for the comedy value obviously because never want to miss a joke so um they come in ones much thinner than this they
56:56
support quite nicely and the the nose pieces actually do can bend them together where you want
57:02
them for your nose properly you've got the nice little rubber stoppers they do stay on your head i've not had them sliding around
57:08
and they do come with two different um strengths of of torch because there's two different bulbs in there so you can
57:13
have you can have one on uh oh oh they're both on oh they come on a different strength there you go but so
57:20
yes they're all right i will be honest and say for me anyway as an existing glasses
57:26
where i think they are best used when needed as opposed to
57:32
the easy the easy desire of just going i'm going to leave these on all the time because they're really good but i think they are best when you're going i really
57:38
need to see into that gap or i'm going to put some eyes on a face or whatever it may be i think they're best kept as
57:44
being your big guns and your arsenal as opposed to trying to use them all the time but your mileage may vary you might
57:50
be able to put them on and not get any eye strain with them at all they gave me a little bit of a headache personally but
57:56
just but what i generally find is that they're comfortable enough to keep on and i just flip them up out the way and the other great thing is as well
58:02
because i often watch um tv when i'm um i watch tv or watch youtube when i'm
58:08
actually uh doing my hobby painting on one thing another is that it's great because they're making me phone look like an
58:14
ipad that's going to say like you come watch tv and oh you got an imax now yeah yeah
58:19
that's great so yeah so they they wear and that's obviously the important point is they
58:25
with a grand total of 21 quid which i think that's not bad is it
58:30
bloody good yeah or you know one let's have a little look in here
58:37
five different lenses a cloth they are also which is all great they charge off
58:43
usb so you don't have to be sticking batteries in them which is cool yeah like i say they're not they're not light
58:49
massively like but they're not hugely heavy either and if like if you keep them for the jobs you need as opposed to
58:55
trying to wear them all the time you'll i think they'll do you well so very impressed
59:01
hobby craft actually is a frightening shot because it's i only went in there for i only went in
59:08
there for one particular thing the next thing i've come up with tamiya tape which was inspired by you buying it yeah
59:14
i know the other thing as well which was i bought like a grown-up i bought white ink
59:19
from the from the proper painting people sides of things you know where people paint stuff on
59:24
canvases and all that weird stuff yeah so um and they do oil paints and everything
59:30
this was something i was going to talk about but i completely forgot so it's so easy to get wrapped up like like for
59:35
myself so easy to get wrapped up into like miniature painting being the only form of painting because
59:41
it is the only form of painting that i do yeah um like if you've seen like my morris video like my day job is a
59:47
wedding videographer and a lot of the time i will turn up on a morning there'll be a makeup artist
59:53
there doing the bridesmaids and the bride's makeup and um and this they did let makeup artist and
59:59
it is like it fully is an art it's incredible what it can do um the the mother of the bride sits down
1:00:05
and and the makeup artist was like right well what color is your dress and she was like well it's green and i was thinking about doing like
1:00:11
silver like eyes and she was like well silver can read a bit as blue so i
1:00:16
reckon we need to go a bit more gray and then you get that contrast and then she whacks out an airbrush and starts
1:00:23
and starts putting a foundation on i was just like please paint my videos
1:00:29
it was amazing when should i got the makeup brushes out did you go oh dry brushing
1:00:34
yeah yeah i mean i mean yeah you you put your contours and you do your blending
1:00:39
um and your highlights and this that and the other on the cheekbones and stuff it's dry brushing that's all it is i
1:00:45
mean i say that's all it is i'm not an artist here it is is um what brand of brushes
1:00:52
how much is that per brush because see i can get some is that a wash or a glaze yeah honestly i was so impressed it was it
1:00:59
was phenomenal she was just like yeah i'm just going to get the airbrushes which is a really freaky one people use
1:01:06
airbrushes to make and put designs on cakes yes basically um
1:01:12
you can basically get editable paint basically can't you that you can just put on your butchers yeah so
1:01:18
yeah so my recommendation for them is uh yeah i would definitely say they're worth a purchase because i was normally
1:01:25
um big magnifying lens on an arm and it just never quite seemed to get it in the position that i wanted to and yes it
1:01:32
didn't give me high strain um and i could use it for a while without any problems at all but i just
1:01:37
never felt like i could get it where i wanted it and it was just not quite strong enough either so i am
1:01:43
i'm recommending them uh i think a 21 quid if you stick them on your head for 10 minutes yeah you know in a two-hour
1:01:51
session i still think they're very quickly going to be worth their money i think so yes they're a recommendation
1:01:56
from me and uh if you you know if you've got amazing ice and you don't need them
1:02:06
that's all i can say amazing
1:02:13
right then show hobby heroes hobby hero who are we doing this week we are doing i'm gonna murder
1:02:18
his name marco freshon i'm gonna freeshawn maybe gentlemen
1:02:23
it won't be immediately obvious when you watch your show but i'll tell you because it's only a hint but he's
1:02:30
italian yeah i'm taking the piss he is probably
1:02:36
the most italian man i have ever in my life had like it's it's phenomenal isn't
1:02:42
it but yeah like by chance i i watched a few videos this week because the first
1:02:47
week you were watching without knowing that i already knew yeah yeah yeah and um i watched him
1:02:53
like speed paint uh hellbrecht yes he did yeah for the black people in four hours yeah and it
1:02:59
looks phenomenal yeah and he has so much so much good energy oh and he's right
1:03:06
he could do energy he could light his own street yeah yes he's known as marco frason njm on
1:03:15
youtube and he's definitely worthy of your time i will be honest and say he is quite
1:03:22
high-end which i feel a bit bad because we've done two quite high-end painting painters and two review shows
1:03:27
but he is quite high-end but i think there is a lot even if you are you consider yourself to be an average
1:03:33
painter there's a lot to be gained from him yeah my friend tim who i know gets mentioned on here all the time i'm going
1:03:38
to start on the photograph i don't even know what tim looks like a photograph of him up but tim dabbles in
1:03:45
oil paint okay and he swears by marco's work marco is very very good he's a big
1:03:50
believer in you and being able to use oil paints move them about get the amount of
1:03:55
um opaqueness you need by using white spirits and whatnot he's a phenomenal painter and he is just
1:04:03
a genuinely lovely character and some of the work he's produced is just phenomenal it really really is yeah yeah
1:04:10
but um this accent it's definitely worthy of a mention isn't it because
1:04:16
it's so strong that me and tim are convinced that at some point he's actually going to drop
1:04:21
it and just go ah only joking dave from basildon it's because it's that strong
1:04:26
it seems like he's literally putting it on tim sorry to pat always says to me
1:04:32
you've got to be a little bit more large than you're than your actual character when you're in front of the when you're in front of the camera it's like
1:04:38
presenting is like it's a version of yourself it's easy when we're talking to each other yeah because because you have someone to bounce off yes
1:04:44
when you're talking to an anonymous object it if you talk it
1:04:49
like a normal conversational volume it comes off as as like again just quite flat
1:04:54
yeah marco is literally ramped up to about 12 isn't he yeah yeah he he took like his final tap 11
1:05:01
and and just twisted it i just just drew a one of the two on them on this one for that as well i'd love to meet the guy oh
1:05:07
he's great yeah so energetic with regards to his work but he's amazing and
1:05:13
you get the impression as well he is one of those there's a few of them um but i would say he's a painter's
1:05:19
painter a lot of a lot of youtube guys that i i also i like will reference
1:05:24
marco which is quite funny because uh subscribers 80 000 so he's doing well
1:05:30
but he's not you know one of the really big hitters but i i get the impression he he he works he
1:05:36
does a lot of commission work and uh he's got a lot of stuff going on on his patreon as well so he's probably doing
1:05:42
very well anyway but he's really really worth your time even if you go in and you think i'm not going to
1:05:47
gain anything from this just go in and have a look just watch for just to see
1:05:53
our skill our art that we do well i hope you do otherwise while you're watching this but you know it's see the skill and
1:06:00
the art that we all take pride in and do you know to different levels even if you're just going to just
1:06:06
watch him doing it it's it's phenomenal work he's worthy of your time yeah marco
1:06:11
frijon f r i s o n and then n j
1:06:17
definitely please go and have a look at him i'm going to do something i don't normally do hobby heroes update
1:06:24
last week we talked about dave perryman dave perryman and mr infernal brush yesterday infernal brush so
1:06:30
because i think it's a nice thing to do whenever possible and keep you know help out within the community
1:06:36
yeah i got a few minutes worth of talking about him out of in the show last time
1:06:41
so i decided to go and join his patreon taking a lead from what pat here does
1:06:48
and goes and joins people's patreons if they get a mention so i went in how to look it's phenomenal really it's
1:06:54
phenomenal even if you only go in and for a month if there is a space marine face tutorial in there that's where a
1:07:00
fiver of anybody's money it's very very good if you play jean steeler cult some great
1:07:06
great work he's done on uh on hybrids very very good i'm not saying you want
1:07:12
to take everything away from it because they are box art level but some great little hints and tips in there that are
1:07:17
actually generally relatively simple but he manages to turn them into a really
1:07:22
phenomenal good looking piece of work again you should be heavy metal painter he does reference making things look
1:07:28
like he did on the boxes that he painted previously when he went when he worked for gw so just a little bit update on him
1:07:35
patreon page i think he's five pounds infernal brush even if you're only going for a month or
1:07:40
two because he hasn't got a lot on there he's really worth your time especially if you're playing black templars or
1:07:46
you're doing blade guard go and have a look dave perryman inferno
1:07:52
brush with five pound of anybody's money just a quick update right then so before you
1:07:58
go or look for you before we go but you'll be going anyway because we'll we'll just stop being here but
1:08:04
what have you done um i have what have i done i've done a
1:08:10
pistol pouch uh they're called holsters if my uh they are on they yeah
1:08:18
yeah pistol pouch it just sounds like a sexy thing you wear a pistol that's what i call my pants
1:08:28
um no space for pouches in the back though cause they're arseless yeah my uh my uh my chaps that's it
1:08:36
anyway oh god we're getting derailed again um so i did a holster well
1:08:42
which which again uh this this was a painting coach recipe so second shout out uh rhinoxide double brown and scrag
1:08:49
um i've sort of tried to have a little bit of weathering on there as well um and this is just like a quick and
1:08:55
and i dare i say relatively nice and straightforward yeah that's cool way to do your holsters um so i thought
1:09:01
hey maybe i'll base coat some of the metals in so i've used um vallejo i didn't know you know
1:09:07
i'm all kind of jealous metal color uh gumball gray and um like i used the
1:09:12
chrome paints chrome uh model air recently because i finally managed to get hold of some these are so good yeah really really
1:09:19
good so just base coating in a bit of that on the gun on the back of course keeping a business
1:09:25
on our own at this rate yeah yeah i mean i i um i went in there today and literally i talked about self-control i
1:09:32
went there today i'm bought a single pot of paint that's all i bought
1:09:37
that is controlling i'm all really bored because i wanted the stickers yes well they are free they're freaking just take
1:09:42
them out anyway that's what i've done what have you done what have i done i didn't do a lot but i am actually quite pleased with
1:09:48
what i have done which is i've got the right one flash shades all over the gold and it's now looking really
1:09:54
nice and rich yeah and then the next thing we'll do will be to get uh the next shade of gold being the liberator
1:10:00
did you even open the pot i opened the pot and i put some on the uh on there and then that's about as far as
1:10:07
i've gotten i mean that's pretty much what we do yeah that's what we do yeah yeah but uh yeah so there we go that's what
1:10:13
i'm doing there i just wanted to get that lovely reiking shade and just give the gold some depth and it also did a
1:10:19
very kindly filled in a couple a little bit where it was looking a little the odd little bit with it i haven't quite took or i'd gone over the uh the edges a
1:10:26
little bit but it did a really nice job of sorting that out for me so yeah that's where i'm at with that nice so
1:10:34
i think that's pretty much it we've had i think with that it's been an interesting show we've talked briefly about uh horus heresy we've had to look
1:10:41
at my i might buy further down the line from that we did a very very small little talk about the underworkings of
1:10:47
uh warhammer plus of course yeah i'm glad you kept that short minuscule yeah yeah yeah sorry about that
1:10:55
i need a lie down he's getting cut he's getting counselling for his time at games workshop
1:11:01
just oh it's all coming back to me yeah every time i hear this week
1:11:09
oh it's too much you have to relive it yeah but no to be fair like i say
1:11:16
you know how often gives you a chance to speak to somebody who's actually been behind the lens on this thing so you
1:11:21
know i'm pleased to hear it so i think we'll uh i think we'll leave there again
1:11:28
subscribe like notifications tell your mates tell your granny tell your dog anybody else who
1:11:34
potentially can press the button on the phone don't mind and for those that you have done all of
1:11:40
that i can i know i said at the beginning but thanks it's really appreciated thank you very much yeah make sure your next miniatures better
1:11:46
than the last one bye bye
