hello I am peachy I'm Patrick and I'm Jeff and as somebody pointed out that
0:06
that does the guy on the right always only wear plaid yes I am wearing plaid nice but not only that but just to spin
0:13
the wheels of it Pat's decided to join in as well I have yeah yes there we go that'll give you that'll give somebody
0:18
something to point out solidarity between plaid Brothers I didn't get the
0:24
memo oh sorry mate I mean neither did I is this like Heartbreak Ridge why do you
0:29
just have to wear loads of different colored t-shirts you'll figure out what's heartbreak
0:37
really it's a Clint Eastwood movie where he's training um Marine Corps and each day he wears a different color T-shirt
0:43
and they think they've got it nailed and each day you have to wear what he's wearing and it's all about over it's the
0:48
sort of like overcome adapt improvise and they all wear every t-shirt one morning and then just take it off
0:54
by they um they talk to Elizabeth
0:59
is the landlady they said they phoned the landlady up and go what did he leave where and they were no he left with his
1:05
orange I like Harper it's silly yeah it's got
1:10
it it's the uh oh not Cuba Granada Guatemala Guatemala Grenada yeah Grenada
1:18
Grenada Grenada yeah yeah not Grenada that's something uh Spain isn't it Grenada I don't know yeah and it's a
1:24
Northwestern variant TV channel for ITV is it oh of course it is yes it is yeah I remember those days don't exist
1:29
anymore because I was I stopped myself from saying potato potato but like when it's
1:36
someone's country I don't know be quite that quite that white about it it is a
1:42
different spelling I always just find it funny that they went we're gonna the movie hangs on this thing of God we're gonna go and invade grenade you know and
1:49
you're going yeah and I think I remember that I you know I was in the military at that time I remember that I think more
1:54
American Marines take I think more American Army and Marines stand up than there was people living on the islands if I remember rightly I think they tend
2:02
something doubled the population I'm mad it's not a bad little baby though
2:08
so let's check it out I tell you what I I did watch a movie uh recently that I thoroughly enjoyed was uh everything
2:14
everywhere you know what I don't know whether me and the wife were just in a weird mood because we put that on
2:21
um both of us went clicking with it at all and we've said you know what how did how far did you did you stop watching it
2:28
uh yeah we stopped watching it we sort of got as far as maybe where the closet came into being Guinea whether he
2:34
started coming in out of the closet oh yeah yeah so stick with it for like
2:40
10 more minutes because it's a bit erratic it's interesting at the start like I guess I don't want to spoil it
2:46
for anyone but you know it's been out for almost a year it's on streaming or anywhere illegally
2:52
um you can legally watch it on Amazon yes that's where I watched it yeah yeah
2:57
honest yeah [Laughter]
3:04
Jeff's dog promotes piracy um piracy you say she's like download
3:11
again oh you can we do that can you can you put one right right there and then we'll
3:17
just see whenever she sorts of spots it yeah yeah sure there's one up there when
3:23
you're ready there's one there we might be waiting for ages but um but yeah it's interesting because when it starts
3:28
um sorry just trying to tease the dog you
3:34
ready no I don't want to stare at you yeah I'm
3:40
not your performer I'm not your performer monkey so to our Audio Only listeners there's a dog
3:45
I end up doing that every week as we just yeah we're tapping on a table to
3:51
try and get a dog to eat a biscuit that you want to yeah oh there we go
3:58
to the folks at home just over there there we go
4:04
uh with biscuits dog biscuits very kindly supplied by one of our patrons so
4:09
we've got scrambles scrambles uh apparently our biscuit Choice was somewhat disappointing you never know if
4:17
we show this enough you'll never know everybody's ends up with uh with the dogs yeah it was the fact I was getting
4:24
biscuits from Aldi there's nothing wrong with Aldi Biscuits by the way they're great well apparently apparently there was especially the uh especially the top
4:31
of the chocolate digestive sort of called them for Bob knees weather called mcswitties Big squinties yeah but
4:37
um do we have the name yes Liam yeah oh thank you donated us a support package a
4:44
biscuits a biscuits and clothes pegs oh yeah because we need those I need those
4:50
to get back on Mrs Pete so we've got a whole selection we've got Wagon Wheels in there yeah that's a good look yeah
4:55
salted caramel nibbles I call them balls what A bad month to decide to go on a diet I don't know
5:01
it's bad it's always the way you pick it you make it a life decision yeah you
5:07
make a life decision on the world yeah yeah we've got some more in here as well thank you well presented yeah it was
5:14
amazing um yeah like we don't don't send Warhammer to us send us biscuits yeah biscuits um I um was on uh dasmal
5:23
wargaming live on Friday and what sorry dazzmore War gaming all right so it's a
5:29
channel on YouTube did he have a picture at like the open day at Warhammer world yes see the other picture with sucks and
5:36
it was like I met the hands yes yeah did you see her in the um I'm
5:43
worries cosplay where she nearly fell over no she's like so she's just couldn't move because she's tiny I mean she's about the size of a spoon isn't
5:49
she so she is quite small yeah
5:56
it's tidy lady one of my friends new wax at Warhammer Wells I won't
6:02
mention his name on here um has said Roundtree isn't it no
6:08
no I'm more than one I'm more than one occasion you said when when um Suggs had not long started you said
6:15
she would be looking in the cabinet and I've approached it just to make sure if she knows where her mum and dad are
6:23
wow God I've gone and gone and then you've got close until I've seen the reflects you go oh no she actually I
6:28
thought she was a mother's child it's just like my wife she's fine because she's just by his kids clothes and you know like kids shoes no VAT on those so
6:35
absolutely right it's all good but yeah so I was on dasma wargaming and our lovely painting face stickers I decided
6:41
to slap that onto my white pot of tea and it made a really good piece of merch and uh I forgot to bring I was gonna
6:48
bring it in today and use it branded but yeah those stickers are getting used now in white mugs teapots excellent looks
6:54
great look like I got proper sort of like painting phase good month good man Santa he making yeah detritus now the
7:02
tritus paraphernalia's boy better to try to sound like a positive I had to try to just crap
7:09
buy it now I can't wait
7:15
I did ask um on the subject of merch um as we have been for a little while
7:22
currently in the process trying to get some bits sorted um potentially for like for wave two because obviously like people this is
7:29
colloquially named as sidetracked sidetracked as a podcast um is there's that great meme where a
7:36
car is like doing a handbrake turn oh yeah yes there's a signpost above it that's like straight on yeah and turn
7:43
right and then and then I so I approached um our like graphic designer who's done
7:49
the logo he's he's finalized some of our t-shirt designs and I was like could you redraw that Meme but it's a tank and
7:55
it's the three of us on on poking out the top yeah but but what we need is the
8:01
subject the subject will be like a serious podcast and then the right turn biscuits
8:09
clothes pegs absolutely
8:14
um oh uh Warhammer 40K 10th edition are the clothes pegs
8:21
so if anyone has any ideas no please drop them in the comments absolutely yeah absolutely which I think would be
8:27
fantastic um wonderful uh what was I going to say so everything everywhere all at once it's a
8:33
little bit tricky to begin with yeah um stick with it and then it's the best film in the universe is it one of those things where because I used to get this
8:39
a lot when uh I used to talk to people into TV shows and they're like after the seventh series it gets good
8:46
yeah yeah I I feel like I want to go back and watch the start because there's
8:51
like loads of stuff yeah yeah um and stuff like that so that would be interesting but uh yeah I always
8:58
struggled with that when people are like oh yeah just watch just watch 10 hours of it and then it gets good yeah yeah
9:04
see I've got to be honest now that I'm start I've got access to TV series never
9:09
used to have and now they've been on a while and I've got to be honest and I think people go oh you should watch that
9:16
and I want to go in and go it's five Series in yeah I don't really want to know whether I don't know whether a
9:21
really fancy 50 hours you know when you get in at the beginning you don't mind
9:26
coming out weekly and you sort of just Potter along with it it's nice this one goes this it's there you go
9:32
I've got 50 hours of it you know I think and I suppose it depends I mean I I didn't know I didn't watch the Clone Wars until I watched the Mandalore in
9:39
the first time and someone said oh if you'd watch the Clone Wars a lot of it makes sense so I was like okay because I didn't know like who Boca town was at
9:45
the time I had an idea of a show Katana was because as you see on the were posted but I actually I was like I
9:51
blitzed through that because I was sitting painting watching it yeah yeah so sometimes like depend on the show that wasn't enough seven seasons of that
9:59
it just wasn't enough I wanted more um yeah so yeah I suppose it does depend on the show so do you watch the Clone Wars
10:04
in because in true Star Wars style the timing is all skew if yeah in how it was
10:10
released yeah so you can either watch it in release format or there's a
10:15
chronology yeah I watched the chronological yeah yeah so um someone suggested doing that and
10:21
there's a point I can't remember if it's somewhere in season seven where they everyone and Anna can go off and do a
10:26
thing yeah and then that's when it all does the bit it's yeah Revenge of the Sith yeah
10:32
episode two and three years left the Clone Wars yes yes yeah which is I I find quite funny because you think when
10:37
you when you make things that are already within a that have been bookended yeah like with um the cartoon
10:43
of rebels I liked in Rebels they had to go right we've now got to find an excuse to hide all these people because they
10:49
really should have been in a New Hope yeah
10:55
with the soaker didn't they they got yeah ahsokas is padman but she wasn't in episode three right now yeah she's gotta
11:02
leave the Jedi Order yeah yeah but uh what am I watching the bad batch yeah
11:08
season one of the bad Bunch which I quite like yeah yeah but I think when it sometimes
11:13
um yeah when it because so watching uh Battlestar Galactica for example oh what a brilliant series that was and that was
11:19
obvious that was released and done before I was sort of even aware of its existence and then I was like amazing
11:25
I've got all these Seasons to watch she wants more business um and then I was like this is gonna
11:31
consume my life crack for a month and I'm ready for it yeah just yeah take me
11:37
um and I thoroughly enjoy it I quite like finding sometimes like 10 seasons is probably a bit too much like like
11:43
Criminal Minds I have no interest in watching yeah because it's Electronics season 16 isn't it yeah and it's and
11:49
it's like Baddie of the week yeah and so it's all quite similar and then for with massive American TV shows that are like
11:56
20 episodes long the character development is so strung out yeah
12:01
um that I I struggle to to keep watching I did watch um oh The Mentalist I got really into
12:07
that because I really like the whole patch my other half was a big character um but I've never made it to like I know
12:15
who red John is but I've never made it to the end yeah because serial killer
12:20
he's been doggedly pursuing for yeah sounds like a pirate yeah yeah yeah yeah so anyway from child I think and then
12:29
it's like the whole point yeah
12:55
in the past few episodes um there's been like only hands bits and Bobs and and oh desolation Squad whoa
13:03
um but we're all here because we love the hobby absolutely absolutely absolutely to the point where here we
13:09
are three three grown men sat in a room talking about toys what's wrong with that so I want to talk about or discuss
13:16
um like where the hobby could go if it gets more mainstream and what you would like to do
13:23
with it so one of my hobby goals would be because I've been watching I think
13:28
I've mentioned it before as well uh great Pottery throw down yep don't care about Pottery but I love it when eight
13:34
people own a room and they get so passionate about making parts and everyone cries and it's great
13:40
um and then you're like oh they've really developed over the season um but that one he came in good but he's
13:46
just stayed the same level and now he's only just scraped through to the final um not worse than the mediocre Potter
13:51
yeah yeah exactly but I get invested um so I was about getting the flange
13:57
right on there yeah yeah I just wanted to see flan I did really because it tickled me every time you see Pottery
14:02
yeah it's it's it's full of innuendo as well so for children like us it's a
14:08
wonderful show um but that obviously like Bake Off has a lot to once for because uh there's a
14:14
Lego version of it there's glass-blowing versions of it there's Pottery an iPhone think there should be a Warhammer well
14:21
well or miniature painting off well uh we we were gonna do
14:27
something like that uh before I before I parted um it never happened which is a shame because I was really excited about doing it I think we should just do it
14:33
anyway yeah um so there was a period and uh again I'm not trying to like turn things
14:40
against like you know be negative or anything like but there was a time when there wasn't going to be enough uh animations out so we're looking for
14:45
filler oh but there is enough animations now fine I think it was like something that
14:51
happened and some have been delayed and like we need some we need some stuff to put on uh plus and we can't me and Wade
14:57
will come up with ideas and one of them became what was called kit bashed which was very much on the lines of yeah
15:02
um like bake off and the idea will be we'll get something that really knows that stuff about Kit passion whether
15:08
that's someone internally or someone that's out there in the big wide world that does a lot of Kit bashing and initially it was just gonna be like
15:14
staff because you can trust staff at that point because you you know who they are you know what they can do yeah
15:20
um so you get like four staff members and you'd have like a blind bag of Spruce there'll be one thing which
15:26
during the day so you have like three um sort of like in bake off you have three things yes like yes real simple
15:32
conversion like a you know you've got this kit you've got this kit make something cool yeah then there's one which is like your uh show stopper do
15:38
you do something for us that is going to show off and then the last one will be like here's a bag of sprues you can't
15:44
and everyone gets a different bag yeah it's just like a bag it's a blind bag of sprues and then you just go you've got
15:49
to make something and the theme is because that that battle Yeah that would be a great like middle challenge so so
15:55
I've been putting a lot of thought into this right me and Jeff are Mel and Sue yeah yeah I see that yeah your pole
16:01
Hollywood I'm very orange yeah and then I think and then and then I think Suggs
16:07
Suggs would be Mary Berry sucks would be Mary Berry um and so like you guys are like okay so
16:13
I can see what you tried to do here and this and this and then me and Jeff had wander around making innuendos and
16:19
um be like oh make sure it's just the tip don't forget to rim
16:28
I'm so used to to making videos with you now that um on the world eaters video
16:33
that we did um there was multiple comments about how enthusiastic peachy is about I
16:39
am I did I didn't even clock I was like what on Earth are they on about I don't know and then it was just like it's
16:45
funny because as soon as I watched the first time I remember yeah they're all monsters a lot of you yeah
16:53
um so yeah I think I think like a kit bash a kit bash challenge would be like a wonderful uh like middle challenge
16:59
yeah like the where where it's like um they have to do it blind and all that sort of stuff it what would be like
17:04
diorama building or like that could be your show stopper being is you couldn't put it out to the
17:11
general public could you no you could you could because you'd follow into general public Peterborough game just win it
17:23
so I think you'd have like people that do channels as a as a separate like you
17:29
know because you get like bake off and then you get Bake Off celebrity right but so it's that same kind of aim where
17:34
you get Bake Off where it's just like people just want to do it we want people that are good at it but then also people
17:40
are good at different things so yeah you have bread week and it's like oh so Susan's been nailing it every week oh
17:46
she can't break bread um and she gets booted off so if it was
17:51
um like you know someone that uses a lot of airbrushes and you're like right yeah it's it's Slap Shop week yeah yeah yes
17:57
yeah yeah and then and then that pushes people out of the Comfort zones or like you could say because I think people on
18:02
YouTube they work to not I mean not unlimited resources but it's people's own channel yeah and
18:10
um and and the time Factor as well yeah because people can do incredible paint
18:15
jobs and you'll be like yeah this is my golden demon like the chapter one golden demon he he invested what over 300 hours
18:23
into making that the two like ogres like fighting or that no it was like a dragon
18:28
sea monster yes yeah yeah um and he was like oh I because I knew that the resin would magnify the foot I
18:36
spent like 100 hours just on that foot well he did the other thing as well wasn't it was he he had to paint the
18:41
foot really well but he said he wasn't painting any of the rest of the the giant because it's just well known resin
18:47
can just do its own thing and be really bad yeah so he was like I'm not painting anything else until I know that that
18:53
foot of the water was turned out really well yeah because so when it did he was like yeah yeah okay now I can so he
18:59
could he could come in yep and and would be like well you got 20 minutes now yeah paint a miniature yeah and he might have
19:06
a meltdown yeah I don't know them I mean I had loads of ideas of like what you do is you you get a broad spectrum of
19:12
people that have different skill sets like some are really good yeah some really good at like doing unit paintings some are like like me that just like to
19:17
yeah yeah dry brush things up and wash them and then you have like yeah high end this is for a painting competition
19:24
high-end paint job you've got three hours or half a day to get the model painted
19:29
um so you have that then you have like there is an unlimited amount of figures that are going to keep coming on your desk you need to see how many get
19:34
painted before the time is up yeah yeah the 142 were at car that it was just
19:39
like they could have carried on adding more and more yeah and then it could be start collecting in a day as best as it
19:45
can possibly be then diorama then you know scenery building because that's it it's a whole a whole different set of
19:51
yeah it's not a different skill set because you're still using brushes and stuff the way you approach is very different because yeah I think it would
19:56
be great to be to like have an all-around like miniature painter and I think as is these t-shirt TV shows of of
20:03
Seoul have shown that it's like it doesn't necessarily matter like what they're doing yeah yeah
20:08
um because we did I mean me and my uh my lovely girlfriend we did a um a pottery
20:14
like lesson and the guy the guy that taught us was um in Pottery Throwdown like season one
20:21
and he's he got booted out on the very first episode and he was like I can do
20:27
all the stuff and and he taught us and he was amazing and he was an incredible teacher and we had a wonderful time but
20:32
he was just like you put that time on and that pressure it was like I just melted yeah yeah um so that yeah and
20:39
then we get all the way through to the final and we go right paint the right leg of a Space Marine and Darren Lathan goes yes yeah yeah I mean I've seen it
20:46
so many times when recruiting stuff like you know when you have like deadlines or like you need to paint this unit in a
20:51
week some people just like nail it no problems whatsoever and there's a little bit refining needed yeah you just
20:57
thought you could have done that a little bit finer or that was just you went you put too much effort into the backpack you know whatever and there's
21:02
other people that just melt down and they've done a leg on one model and that in that way you can just like yeah yeah
21:08
are you okay like no what is it project management and handling everything yeah it leads it leads me into a question is
21:15
that um let's if we hypothetically assume that
21:21
40K does take off with regards to um Cinema TV yeah if we say yes it does
21:29
it does take off the question is is to the general public that
21:34
don't do it as a hobby but watch it yeah will it make do you think how much of a
21:40
jump do you think the actual hobby will will make into people's General lives
21:46
like basically what I'm saying loads of people go to the cinema and really love the Marvel movies yeah but probably
21:51
still never buy a comic yes yeah you know what I mean yeah yeah it'd be interesting to see how much if this does
21:56
happen um how much it actually the the small plastic man be becomes something that
22:03
people are into because I guess like you wouldn't necessarily have to uh because putting on a production of of like this
22:09
scale would be quite expensive would be very expensive yeah probably only do like one episode to begin with yeah like
22:15
in several years time um yeah it's not coming in the next couple of months folks no no and it's
22:20
the only reason I'm talking about it because before you put in the comments where's our neck I'm on the game and we're on it
22:27
everyone's favorite's wings no yeah there's a lot of refinements I thought
22:32
um have you ever watched um arbitery yes he he was doing um
22:42
as somebody said on there the the Peyton coach's Channel when he painted something today it's pronounced judges
22:50
um he was really sort of dismissive because it was like um it was like he's hit something like 75 000 subscribers
22:56
yeah and he didn't ask me anything and someone said oh you know what do you think about the movies and all the
23:02
restaurant and he works in theater and he said a lot of the time when it's like you know this Deal's on the way and all
23:09
the rest of it he says he says yeah they're all mentioned and he says and it just never becomes and he said and if he
23:16
asked me he said I don't think the 40K universe will will ever see the screen he said I just don't think it's
23:22
interesting and it was a really he was really sort of like really convinced of
23:27
that you know what I mean I mean we said that about like computer games years ago and then we we there was like fine
23:33
Liberation I forget what the Eldar sort of turn-based game was called and uh yet
23:39
obviously um the fantasy one web way the musical the shadow of the horn rat and the other one
23:45
uh I feel it's called Dark humans that that was uh they were you know good fun games but yeah Big mainstream games that
23:52
like yeah out there now yeah you get things like dark tide and warmer Total War and
23:58
stuff like that you know there yeah they really like propped up they're The Heavy Hitters yeah Space Marine uh two when
24:04
that comes out what I mean I'm a big fan of Total War I've played pretty much every single Total War uh game system
24:10
that's ever come out from the very first day of almost like the the 2D sort of um Shogun version
24:17
and I'm still like waiting for like colonial wars or World War One or even modern day because I'm sure they could do I think the only one ever played that
24:23
was Rome Rome they were very good
24:30
um but uh I've lost my point oh no uh uh games uh oh yes that was it sorry I've
24:36
got my point yeah Great Brain yeah that's it get get working um and
24:41
so they brought out Warhammer yep and I remember reading in a PC Gamer I think
24:46
it wasn't also talking to one of the guys that used to work for Workshop that works for Sega now and stuff was
24:53
when you did Warhammer Total War there was like three meshes four meshes you
24:58
have to worry about man on foot man on horse War Machine that was it then they made and that was
25:05
pretty much Universal across all the medieval Rome Shogun and probably man
25:12
with bow as a man with speed yeah yeah a little tweak here and there and then they did giant dragon steam tank dwarf
25:19
orc yeah wyvern yeah a bit different to a dragon and then you've got all these other weird and wacky beasts and the
25:26
very first game that came out about 36 plus different meshes and skins oh not skins white meshes yeah like yeah like
25:33
all the models dollies and that to work on um and yeah that that made Sega so much
25:39
money and it became the most popular platform of total war with all the others combined really yeah it was mad I
25:46
just because I mean you know we've talked about Warhammer yeah you know it was like not so popular for a time and
25:51
then it drifted off and that's why they did age Sigma but because I think that that wasn't very it wasn't there for a
25:56
while so this is my my go-to people like well Warhammer is very popular because this goes to show it well actually it's
26:02
part probably not just that and that is probably a fact but also those historical War Gamers were like this is
26:07
different this brings up new tactics yeah yeah because I'm so used to doing spear versus horse bow versus this that
26:14
this has now given me a whole load of new things to think about it's like a Squig it's better versus squid and
26:19
fanatic and tank and everything else because when you get into like the tournament side because I used to do
26:24
this with like a couple of people like the Paris sometimes we go online like me and Duncan would go online with the Perrys yeah and we play like Napoleonic
26:31
Total War and there I'm going like right I'm gonna get a couple of regiments of lime and get some Cavalry and I get some
26:37
cannons and the pairs just brought every single Cannon possible I just like I got
26:42
a bit what and then you just get bombarded stuff because they knew how to play the system they became like oh
26:48
proper sort of like tournament Gamers yeah from that point of view so they picked all like the proper units that would do all the good stuff to win the
26:55
game as opposed to what looks historically correct and it was like terrifying we're just getting hammered by a million like 12 Pounders or six
27:02
Pounders and stuff like even worse when you factor you know the people the person who's doing that to you actually sculpted them themselves probably yeah
27:08
yeah but yeah it was really interesting to see that that that game system did really well yeah across the board so and
27:16
workshop for a long time when I was there as a store manager and Stefan was I will never do uh licensing because we
27:22
we can't trust people with our IPS it's their most Prof one of the most yeah and I think uh that was probably like an
27:29
old guard attitude where there's lots lots of new people there now no it's great it's yeah go with the modern times folks you'll do well yeah
27:36
um hence why you know people like us start doing tick tocks and shorts yeah kind of yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah I
27:42
mean earlier we go with the trends so uh I was trying to um uh price actually recently off the
27:47
back of doing our uh surf shark card yeah and he was like that was really funny you should do a load of tick tocks
27:54
that's like literally just those two Guardsmen talking to each other and he sent me um and he was like oh
27:59
apparently all the kids loved this and I was like the kids I love that and and it's um I can't remember the specific
28:06
name of it but do you remember uh sylvanians yes yeah the little like animals are sick of vampire Council he's
28:13
the one where it's all just pure filth yeah so it's like they're amazing it's like follow them on Facebook yeah so it's like sylvanian family drama or
28:20
something like that and and it's just like that sounds awesome these little kids toys and nobody talks but it's just
28:26
captions on the screen and it's just like this this um this little Badger comes along and
28:32
it's like hey guys what are you up to and they're they're just like you've got a drug problem and we don't want to be
28:38
friends with you anymore and then it all just progressively gets worse and worse in the space of a minute yeah um and he
28:44
was like you should do that yeah yeah for Warhammer and it would be insanely popular
28:49
oh yeah some of the ones that there's a Facebook one which is mainly couple's problems yeah it's just
28:57
absolutely hilarious it's absolutely brilliant it really is it's hilarious so maybe we could do that before yeah got
29:03
some thoughts about our next ad reads yeah I'm going to show you the uh the document but yeah yeah I I also really
29:09
want to do um we talked about this before um where it's just like how to paint
29:15
your first Warhammer model and we and you travel around the world for every single stage and you never acknowledge
29:23
it yeah we've talked about this haven't we yeah I'd love to do it where we're just like we start off that's quite an
29:28
expensive ticket like in the UK is like you could do what would be really funny is you've just had
29:34
like a folder chain and fold our table Yeah and just went right I'm gonna do this in where there is Guardsman Patrol not
29:42
and down in Windsor Castle just for like I mean yeah and then the very next bit if you went to put the next pillar on
29:47
you're just like sitting at the top of yeah I mean some mountain in the middle of the Lake District and then onto the
29:53
middle of the Birmingham Boulevard yeah I've always seen like you know when the the Kings oh Queen's Garden King's
29:59
God now and would like someone get in the way and they'd shout and get the bandage you want to yeah are we talking like getting in the way
30:07
no and I wouldn't do that because when I when I started life because I was an Irish guard dive that's a challenge yeah
30:13
and it's a pain in the backside because you then have to make sure you like you you then have to make sure you can justify it when you come off off guard
30:21
oh right you can't just do it someone will go did you have to do it there are consequences
30:26
why and what happens and you know and you know back then it was much easier but nowadays the fact that everyone's
30:32
got a phone yes if you're being you know overly aggressive about it or you went right to yeah to have a shout yeah
30:39
someone's going to bring it up and it'll be on YouTube and you've got to be able to you might be justifying it now it must be much much I mean better for you
30:46
as well because you can go well as you can see they were they were being a complete plan so yeah it goes both ways
30:51
yeah like police wearing body cams and stuff yeah keeps everyone honest yeah well when you know when you're defending
30:57
the king you don't know who's a spy man no no no that's gonna be that old lady with a handbook she might have a brick in it you just don't know yeah you just
31:03
don't know mine was a man who blatantly had bless him had mental health problems who had something in his jacket pocket
31:11
yeah but wouldn't say what well was telling me that it was a knife and he was going to stab me nice and was really
31:18
sort of and then I had to do a big really big bang of my foot yeah and actually pushed the rifle out and do a
31:25
big who goes there see that I I would probably myself
31:31
if if like a man of your stature a bear in mind in the guards at the time the
31:37
the ages deep the age the height restrictions changed I wasn't particularly at six two wasn't on the
31:43
tall under Guardsman oh crikey oh yeah we had one we had a guy who was so tall never could do Queens could never do
31:50
book house because he couldn't fit in the kennel if it rained in his basking
31:56
it was that tall he's that tall he wouldn't get in there oh wow he only ever did things like um trooping the
32:02
color and stuff like that yeah like the far end as well as it looked too weird
32:08
so yeah yeah I think in his um I think in his basket he was about eight about
32:13
eight and a half paid a half now Jesus terrified yeah well Guardsman boots if
32:20
you ever see them the the guardsman's boots look like 1970s like you know platform boots because yeah they've got
32:26
like multiple Souls because you've got a really like really loud like I was going to ask are they like
32:31
metal but then you'd be skidding no they wouldn't they wouldn't based but they have 13 studs and a front a toe and heel
32:39
yeah capping them as well I mean that's why like I mean obviously bearskins had a sort of I can't remember what the
32:44
actual reason was for for the better skins for the guards and stuff but the the Shaco that design of tall hat and
32:50
that time was too looking intimidating until yeah well it was good we stole the baskets that was it from the air when
32:56
you
33:02
the British army never wear the chin strap under the chin to the lip yeah and that came from the fact that if you were
33:09
attacked by skirmishes would often be able to get in behind and then what they would do is they just run grab holds you
33:14
by your hat pull you back and cut your throat oh so the idea was if you were under your lip yeah it would if you've
33:21
got pulled it would just come off it would just come off then you'd turn around and go bang bang now you've got a
33:26
bear skin and two hands yes you'd be like you sir have just been
33:33
bamboozled stab that's I mean this is where I keep my
33:39
wild cat I cover it with some fight battle in
33:45
Spain um when it was like depend on it was and the British obviously everyone used to wear their haversacks rucksacks yeah
33:51
yeah and usually when you dump your rucksack it was because you're retreating because it was like less weight and running yeah and because of
33:58
British drill they always wore them it was always like you know right up to the plumbing neck and stuff like that oh well they used to meet them where they
34:03
used to make them wear a leather collards yeah the stock thing yeah leather collar so they always had their heads up right still around just imagine
34:10
that in the middle of somewhere like salamanca's interior of Spain which is like being in the middle yeah which is
34:17
like being in like in the middle of Mexico the interior is massively arid all right and then someone's like make
34:22
sure you've got your big red tunic on and then a big leather collar around your neck as well you know it's Madness
34:28
but there's a there's this tail where there's a British line because they always form line and the French was a pretty much attacked in column and it
34:33
was always the same result you think change of tactics guys I mean come on it's like it's not worked so far because it's they're fighting companies it was
34:40
like constant musketry fight it was like bang bang because it was like 10 companies in their British Battalion yeah and you'd have like five eye
34:46
companies it'll like go five five five five by the time I got to them they reloaded yeah because the column would move you
34:53
tend to Define that the lapping of Phi would go down sides as well yeah so it
34:58
was getting a bit hot and the French were advancing over this hill coming towards I think it was guards I think it might have been Coldstream guards and
35:04
the officer said drop your packs because it was just getting in the way it was hot so they could just you know reload
35:10
faster and the French like oh they're retreated so they started charging the office like what these Jokers doing fixed
35:15
and then in the fridge like oh
35:24
nightmare because if you were marching cross country say on exercise and you got fired upon and then you had to go to
35:31
ground because you did the standard formation the standard system is you get fired at you lie down to fire back you
35:37
no one stands up yeah unless it's your only option and you lie down and then the problem being is when when when when
35:43
I joined when I was seven was you lay down with a massive backpack on and then you couldn't lift your head yeah
35:50
oh yes of course a weird twist where you'd sort of lie half on your side not to try and fire it sideway your rifle
35:56
sideways and then what they did is now if you look at uh modern day rifles uh modern day uh helmet the back's higher
36:12
well I had that on my bike I had a really big sort of camping rucksack and because it had the metal things yeah
36:17
yeah and because my bike was a sports bike you hunched over when I tried to move my head up to look at those I couldn't I was like so I stopped wearing
36:23
that backpack because it was like the most uncomfortable thing I've ever had if everything was an argument for
36:29
panniers yeah it was great for like shopping when you like shopping but like because my old bike used to have it was like a low rider somebody like oh yeah
36:35
when I got the street bike it was like you know yeah I was just like I can't I can't see
36:41
I really I really want to see you like with a chopper like with your arms I never got that I've never got that
36:47
monkey bar no it doesn't I don't understand it I feel like your arms would get really tight and also this again I've never ridden one so I don't
36:54
know how comfortable it is so I'm just making opinions based on what I see and how I feel on my bike yeah um but I
37:00
can't imagine that being comfortable and also having great control no yeah been going around corners I'll be just be so
37:06
nervous because like here you've got a bit more maneuverability and I guess it's you know the UK so those big bikes
37:12
tend to be in the states so it's big wide right yeah yeah so I kind of get and maybe it you
37:18
know your armpits get nice and cool from driving soon you know yeah it's built-in air conditioning yeah built-in air
37:24
conditioner maybe that's because quite often it's like mostly men with like vests on well at least in TV shows
37:32
and it's just like just yeah just just we are on my calendar on the fridge yeah yeah you've got one of these as well
37:38
mine signed oh what was that gang motorbike gang
37:44
program with like Charlie Hunnam Sons of Anarchy oh do you know I really wanted to enjoy that and I watched my
37:50
two episodes of it and then and again people will like again get to season four yeah
37:56
the one that was like God it's just people in in cut down denim jackets
38:01
having a big old row argument you know he didn't even get to the point I was watching his even gets the point they're
38:07
arguing all the gangs he was just arguing amongst themselves yeah you'd be like wait wait until you
38:12
get to like season two and then it starts yeah then you start arguing with other people yeah yeah
38:19
I did like it but it was at times I used to would Sopranos would go I'm just watching I'm just watching American
38:26
Italian men in velor track suits with each other yeah yeah I mean but I did
38:31
like Sopranos but there was times it gone oh just you know have a cup of tea in a biscuit and think it through you
38:37
know yeah weirdly you kind of get like not gang mentality but you certainly get like Jones summertime that there's the
38:43
motorcycles that ride all year round like myself so you wear leather you get protected and then there's your fair weather Riders which are a gang of their
38:49
own they're never nod so there's an etiquette in the motorcycle if you're on uh if you're on a road bike
38:54
yeah um yeah and then I you get you get a nod from a fellow Road cyclist and
39:00
then I nod someone on a mountain bike and they're just like oh yeah tell you what I'm gonna tell you where that goes
39:05
on as well is for those Barbers people don't yeah never nodded each other when
39:11
you walk past their shop nobody'd ever not um you but um well I drive a VW T5
39:19
transporter van oh and T5 guys will always because yeah it's a thing isn't
39:25
it oh well the cool one is just hands on the steel and we'll just go yeah yeah right just yeah right very good Ram or
39:32
T6 T6 the next one up oh won't wave of T5
39:38
front waiver t4s and t4s won't wait
39:51
what you've got to try and figure out is is the one that's coming towards you A
39:58
converted family car like ours is yeah yeah because God forbid you might try and
40:03
wave at somebody who's driving a T5 because it's a Works fan oh because they won't know they won't know
40:11
well they don't care because they actually think I'd rather not be in this bloody Vantage I'd be sitting on my couch around with some yeah some dick
40:16
driving the other ways waving at me as if it's a good thing I mean I'm not at all motorcycle that's because you just don't know so yeah that's a good polite
40:23
yeah but yeah there's a mentality during summer and the mentality is like you get your fair weather Riders and I I wear
40:29
leather it's hot but when you're moving you don't notice it and obviously because I'm constantly on the road and not trying not to Die the heat nether
40:35
bothers me the cold doesn't really bother me it's not until I've stopped now I'm like oh it's a bit bit cold there was a been a few instances where
40:42
like you get your fair weather Riders wearing their shorts or or like like really short shorts and sandals whilst
40:48
on a motorcycle oh I know they come back good A bit toast yeah we mate I was like yeah but I get to keep my skin when I
40:54
come on yeah because it's like a tomato on a belt sander yeah that's the best way to describe my
41:02
mother dated the um Dean today um uh sorry kids these are the very
41:07
serious biker for a number of years and they came off and my wife my wife my
41:12
mother was in jeans and she has a really shiny piece of skin around her knee
41:18
where they basically the road just took yeah I mean Liz got T-Bones years ago and I used to wear jeans because I used
41:24
to take her to school sometimes in the morning that makes she was working at a school by the way
41:29
so I used to take her to work at a school and then we got T-Bone by Guy uh
41:34
whilst on my bike and took a chunk out of her knee and a little bit off our mind and stuff and I mean pillion's
41:40
always a worse opinions always worse off um but yeah she's got a nasty Scar and even like summer and sometimes winter
41:45
time when it's a bit cold you get like a bit of an achiness in that in that wound yeah oh yeah I feel like uh not James
41:51
Bond but Robert Coltrane where it's just like complaining about the cold when he yeah yeah like I get that now I
41:57
understand that yeah I after after serving in the military I um I now can
42:04
basically my forearms are like a thermometer where if they ache from sort of there to Source I'm not quite the L
42:10
did I quite the elbow but a bad bad much if the egg I know it's below minus five yeah oh wow and what's the story behind
42:17
could you just exposure to being on the cold a lot yeah but now it but we never
42:22
had it when I was in the Army but that once I left I could get to the point we're fascinating it must be about it must be kicking about minus five and I
42:29
just and the ache really the only thing I've had a bit like that I came off a climbing wall and spray my ankle pretty
42:35
bad um and then for like two Winters afterwards I'd wake up and go ah it's
42:40
cold today I'd be like oh my left ankle thermometer ankle yeah yeah but then now it it seems
42:48
to be okay I just heard getting out of bed now it's just old age I feel like in the past
42:54
year and a bit oh it's doing a lot of driving to weddings doing a lot of sat down editing
43:01
um I get like lower back problems so I bought this like ludicrously expensive chair that was like a 12 year warranty
43:06
yeah to try and sort it out but occasionally yeah I'm just like so I guess we're like with wargaming and
43:12
everything he's so stationary for such long periods of time I do much about it I used to hate you know that thing where
43:17
you've been you'd really got yourself engrossed and painting a miniature and they think I'll go and make cup of tea and then you go oh yeah you have to
43:23
stretch out yeah yeah start playing with Charlie sometimes like that I'm hunched over playing you feel like you need to
43:29
get on a rack yeah straight yeah so so one thing one thing I really want to get
43:34
um if if we ever well like we will do hopefully at some stage he's he's moving to a an office space
43:40
um is get a standing desk or one that can oh yeah like go up and down because like to to paint on like this table is
43:48
quite low like it's great to a great height to chat at yeah but if you're like having to hunch over and paint
43:54
quite low I think it was like is it Ninja on it was like hey this is my space and he has kitchen counters yeah
44:00
which he sits at and he's and his arms are sort of at right angle so he's kind of like just looking straight forward
44:05
when he sat down yeah yeah yeah so it is about the posture and like you know getting yeah getting support
44:11
and stuff absolutely and I don't follow any of that when I'm at home I like literally I have like one leg up
44:16
sometimes like up here like that yeah yeah the positions you find yourself really great yeah we should do uh there
44:22
we go I've got a new thing that I want to do sod all of the bake off stuff and
44:27
not to paint it's just do a mini painting yoga book I'm sure that so one thing I wanted to
44:34
try and do I'm not a fitness person at all so maybe there's people out there we can like touch base but doing exercises
44:40
whilst hobbing you know like the way they always do that comedy thing don't you know I'm
44:46
sure no one really does it we know these things always in movies where someone's like agent normally where they're an actor they're eight yeah like he's on
44:53
the phone and has a laptop while they're on a treadmill yeah yeah yeah I think you know there's like certain things you
44:59
can be like like a little cycle machine you can have whilst you're sitting there yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you're going you know what I can easily
45:05
walk 24 miles in a day it's not a problem but me Peyton's got really bad yeah well I used to think when we we
45:11
used to have a gym at Workshop we thought it was taken over my warmer TV and we literally got all the studios in
45:17
there that was hated they're all the other all the guys that used to go and gals that used to go to the the gym didn't quite like us at what my TV when
45:24
we uh we turned them into filming Studios but I used to go there when we were mates from the iron painting team
45:30
and um it was always like when we when we did the gym it was like for an hour after you probably have like a little
45:36
bit of yeah shakes yeah that was dry brushing time yeah absolutely
45:41
Excellence dry version bases or dry brush or dry brushing armor so it was like trying to plan yeah yeah oh that
45:49
worked well so don't do exercise you can always do crispy Edge highlights on demand yeah yeah yeah yeah fantastic so
45:57
I was gonna uh Broach your subject unless you guys have got obviously no no well what do what do you guys want to do
46:03
with oh yeah sorry didn't even talk about that we talked about you with your wild hobby so it was along the same lines as you uh sort of like a Bake Off
46:10
thing with kit bashing but then I was thinking about the ultimate hobbyist because Dave Andrews to me is the ultimate hobbyist right he can sculpt he
46:16
can draw yeah he can paint armors and single miniatures and it's that kind of level so Dave
46:22
would be poor Hollywood oh okay yeah we'll call him like that you don't sell yourself short or you could say we have
46:29
uh you know when they have a guest judging um it'd be like we've got peaches plus
46:34
we've got Dave Andrews it's like he could do all these things and there's quite a few hobbyists out there I mean
46:40
like take Das for instance you know yeah I bet Daz can probably draw because he does a lot of the concepts yeah designs
46:45
for his his stuff as well so you've got like Hobbies out there that can do a bit of everything yeah oh Jessica draw um I
46:52
don't know about paint or um but you can sculpt and drop for sure yeah um but then you've got Kevin Chin you
46:58
can draw really really well and paint really really well oh okay um same with Alex Boyd's me he does a lot of awk
47:05
based stuff one of the artists I'm just name dropping some artists now um and yeah he's very much an orc fan
47:11
and so you've got like oh it's guys out there with multiple skill sets and it's like can you have
47:17
the ultimate hobbyist that is really good at art or really good at sculpting and really good at painting single
47:23
Miniatures and armies so that is that yeah that could be an amazing Ultimate Ninja right yeah because you could have
47:29
like um sculpting week yeah yeah you have to be a good sculptor yeah because I know Steve can now sculpt and Steve can paint
47:36
really well yeah draw for toffee Steve Steve Bowman get your act together
47:41
a real personal attack there I don't even know Steve but I feel like he's my mate it's fine we're busy mates
47:49
I'm really sorry Steve I'm not get your act together we don't
47:59
we work together for many years with him and a guy called Tom wall they're both down in specialist games now and uh
48:06
Steve could sometimes be a bit sort of like not miserable but you know after days where he's a bit grumpy and
48:11
something's bothered him yeah and you're just like do you want to go to a room and Shout out you're like yes please
48:16
so you're just like oh this really annoys me and then this annoys me and this annoys me a lot of people are walking past like what Steve's angry
48:22
again why is he angry again it's just steep it's just what he does I just have to get it out it's the way he deals with
48:27
his situation uh sorry Steve I just like did deliveries is such a cuddly bear as well he's like
48:34
the nicest guy he's really sweet with my kid uh when when he comes around Charlie loves playing with Steve he even named
48:40
one of his do play figures Steve because it looked like him I mean it's a generic white girl I've beard uh but yeah Steve
48:48
that is oh no yeah so Steve what would you like to do
48:53
well let me tell you I'd like to lean into the the whole side
48:59
of doing actually the game yeah but what I would like is then like you know really experienced tournament winners
49:06
yeah you know you could go I think the game would be good you know if it was like Space Marines versus whoever and you can go um and the oh like Space
49:12
Marines versus death guard for example and the game could be like halfway through but then they could holographic and go Jeff still hasn't brought on his
49:19
like deep striking uh death throughout terminals I'd say there's a strong likelihood that they'll probably go
49:25
there you know and do it really yeah yeah you know and then and then you'd go oh he brought them on on the other side
49:31
of the table oh my God yeah that was the other hobbyist bit I forgot about was gaming
49:37
as well yeah I think it'll be really and then you know if you so you could do it with yeah Graphics of you know how it
49:43
would work out what they think would happen and so it's okay so it felt more like sport yeah right took this sport I
49:49
completely forgot Liz suggested doing spot the peg
50:01
it's mainly further than flash so that's coming soon
50:08
yeah well that would be quite fun we'll have to if we end up going to uh well we
50:14
are we are going to two uh conventions aren't we so we are yeah we'll talk about that yes yes so myself and Peach
50:21
are going to chilcon and Sheffield on April 1st and I've discovered I'm part of a panel well that's fun yeah I mean I
50:27
don't know if that's true or not so yeah it's good that you're um joining on the
50:33
panels like there's a panel yeah um uh Josh from the pickle jar yeah he
50:39
messaged me a Discord and he was like Oh I thought I think I might have scared peachy oh no no uh he's also a white man I
50:48
think he had a shave so he can't be called Steve anymore um yeah but uh yeah so Steve and and
50:53
then um yeah so I think we're kind of yeah officially part of chill Corner
51:00
um and then all three of us later on in April are attending uh salute songs do
51:06
you know is it just one day now because it used to be it's just one day it used to be for a little while that's it yeah sadly yeah because I I've been keeping
51:13
an eye on it ever since we really got back into the hospital yeah because the first time I was in the hobby I was in a
51:18
barber and obviously Saturday is a vital day for me and my job and ever since I've got back into the hobby I've always
51:23
been safe on the idea of salute and ever since I've been back which is a few years now yeah it's still it's always
51:28
been Saturday you go through a while which is a real shame somebody in the Discord um posted uh it was a screenshot from
51:35
Mantic uh games and they were like oh mantix is getting a bit spicy
51:42
um and it was like a a picture that was just text and it was like um
51:47
we've got wind that some miniature gaming companies are upping their prices
51:52
again um and it was like but we're gonna do things properly
51:59
um and then talking about how it's like uh event season and how they're going to keep the prices low but it's quite funny
52:06
that they were like firing shots across the bow yeah um but then I guess it would be like oh is
52:12
this that um this uh like the the meme of like Jon Hamm where he was like I hate you and
52:18
then Jon Hamm looks down he's like I don't even know who you are yeah who's John Hammer who is the uh the
52:26
actor in uh he's in Toy Story no um John John Hamm no that's not the name
52:32
of the pig no no but I'm sure no I'm sure he voices something in toy store I'm sure he did he's friends with Fred
52:37
dinosaur maybe yeah yes Rex yes Rex Rex come on come on Jeff John Hamlet he was
52:44
in a Madman he was a tall dashing character
52:50
yeah he was in that that's probably like one of the movies I've seen him in recently last thing I assuming was in
52:56
the new Top Gun there you go that's John oh yeah he was in he was in the new Top Gun oh yeah because the pig's called ham
53:02
isn't he yeah we got there eventually didn't we Steve
53:08
yeah all right Steve 's gonna be like why do you all call me Steve
53:14
mocking me we're not mocking Steve we love you Steve I love you Steve I love every Steve I love you all out there oh
53:20
do you know what the world's on the comic timing on that delay that was [Laughter]
53:29
pink Divine anyway sorry uh yeah so gaming side of things I mean I'm wondering like I I we we should watch
53:36
um next time Rob is going to honest world going to a big event because he draws on the screen and does yeah so I'd
53:43
be Keen to watch like a bit a bit more of that just wind them back slightly then so the the
53:49
um convention so unfortunately oh yeah I can't make the Sheffield one because I can't lose two Saturdays in one month
53:55
otherwise a basically might as well shut the shop down um so you two are going to be there and also which I loved is that the the
54:03
photographs of you for the show are the necro yeah yeah so that was the main but I was good that
54:10
couldn't make it yeah the guy well you are on the website yeah because um
54:17
TBC yeah um but uh but yeah he was like do you want to send me like your pictures and I was like oh well I'd have
54:23
to like take headshots of us and set all the lighting up for it oh look we have these cool necrons
54:34
yeah yeah so we're gonna do salute I was gonna say
54:42
[Music] yeah I've got a plan for
54:47
um making ourselves a bit more well-known out in a salute and perhaps not I think Pat's keen on that we need
54:53
to talk to your man in Japan as well uh okay yeah yeah oh my manager yeah so token manager pantander who does our
54:59
lovely stickers if you find US ah absolutely we may end up with a sticker
55:04
come and say hello be lovely to meet you yeah yeah it would be not just a sticker
55:11
it'll make sense after it'll make sense trust me good yeah I hope so no that's
55:18
fine yeah either you're confused or you're not game like I I know what you're talking about
55:24
and it's fine and it's funny but it's just like the way you're saying it now makes it creepy yeah
55:34
putting myself in the ears of the uh audio listener yeah I think I think of
55:39
those that I'm aware of so far I think peace Pete the wargamer might be doing salute oh really which would be cool
55:44
excellent that'd be cool to meet you can mix up with him that'd be nice yeah I'll buy some stuff in the Paris get some Austrian Cavalry oh give me order
55:51
something I want to do um oh what's it called forget it what's called Baron's War uh it means to get
55:57
started on that I'm gonna get some nice one yeah for Baron's War yeah I think some of our some of our patrons going to
56:03
salute as well company so I'm gonna I'm gonna put High Vis vest on and hold the clipboard
56:09
um and it will be like the painting phase crash um you were going to be like you know like a tourist group like you know when
56:15
they lead like tours yes yeah that's right over there it's whaling games over there yes yeah that's what I keep up
56:21
yeah that's it I think I think I'll do that um so yeah if if anybody wants to come along and say hello or just sort of hang
56:27
out with us a little bit then yeah then you're more than welcome I'm looking forward to that but if you don't then that's fine too because I might get
56:33
close enough to this I wouldn't go all the way to London to
56:39
hang out with me no I'd go and buy soldiers yeah yeah and then if you're lucky you might go oh
56:45
it's like a weird guy yeah is his name Steve yeah Steve I'm getting mixed up with Stephen
56:51
is yeah yeah if you come up to us and go hello Steve hello Steve hello Steve I believe you got extra stickers have you
56:57
ever have you ever seen that really great I've one of my one of my I love I
57:02
love a a heist movie it's not my favorite things oh yes and there's um one director by Spike Lee called Inside
57:09
Man Denzel Washington any it's phenomenally good but what's brilliant
57:14
in it is all the bank robbers who all wear a mask over their face
57:19
they're dressed in like overalls they've all got sunglasses on the same matching blue baseball cap on a like a little bandana mask over their face to keep it
57:28
make it difficult because they know all the hostages are eventually going to end up in police interviews to make it
57:33
really difficult for them ones like Stephen Steve Stevie Steve out and
57:38
they're just and they've all just derivatives
57:43
yeah yeah at least you know who you're talking to yeah yeah versus Steve oh yeah yeah yeah
57:49
oh that's good so yeah I'm looking forward to the uh looking forward to sleep yeah salute's great uh I've I
57:55
might even time permitting maybe this year next year because not even planning anything I was just thinking oh I can
58:00
enter the painting competition Ghana nothing's stopping me now because one of the things I've always wanted to enter was one corner of a British Square being
58:07
attacked by French caressers and there's always one like a little diorama of just like a load of British uh at Waterloo
58:13
yeah in a square like little diorama and then loads of French currency has been repelled by a British Square I've always
58:19
fancy doing that I don't think I've got time to do that this time around but maybe just do something and enter it yeah I don't know Drive always wanted to
58:26
enter Charlize Theron [Music] [Laughter]
58:58
whilst the theme was of an adult Nation there was no swearing
59:06
and the first you can put on the foot the first thing when you have to rate
59:12
um rate you have to rate your own YouTube videos and say like how appropriate it is and all that sort of stuff the first one that's like censored
59:18
swearing and very light references of this that and the other you still get like your full adverts in this world so
59:24
it's fine yeah good that's good yeah I feel light-headed I'm thinking about Charlie Saron with
59:30
Jeff entering no no no no no no no no no no she played baroness in uh GI Joe I
59:36
think she did no the baroness in GI Joe was
59:46
Mad Max Fury Rose yeah and Old Guard if you watch the old guys
59:52
it's a bit of a guilty pleasure oh God but I do that I do like it as a movie I tell you what my guilty pleasure uh is a
59:59
little bit when I when I see it on Amazon Prime and I'm bored I'll stick the Rocks like Baywatch film on I've
1:00:05
never watched that oh yes yeah I've never seen this um like it's all funny and that but they know what they're
1:00:10
doing they're taking yeah yeah they are like they're definitely in cheek then it's
1:00:16
fine yeah yeah but like it's it's not like a film that's so bad it's
1:00:21
good yeah like the room and all that sort of stuff um but it is just like not great but you
1:00:29
know yeah so I've got guilty place which is Flash Gordon always likes Gordon are you absolutely it's such a good idea and
1:00:36
crooked ice started in like Miniatures of those Warriors oh yeah you get the
1:00:41
empress guy the ones with the weird gas masks and stuff like that and I've been like I might have to get some of those
1:00:46
guys are they called otherworldly Invaders that's the technical name any soldier that can fire a choking
1:00:54
Gauntlet glove yes yes that's just the coolest thing yeah there's so much good stuff about I've never flashed Gordon oh
1:01:00
it's well you know what because I know it in spite heavily inspired Star Wars didn't it well well this one actually
1:01:05
came out after the start what it does which is really cool unlike when a lot of other things do Flash Gordon I'm
1:01:11
hijacking your subject no that's fine cracker when I was a kid um the old
1:01:17
1930s ones that used to people would go to the cinema and we would see serialized yeah things
1:01:24
um Flash Gordon in the 1930s I love the fact that so many of the design cues
1:01:30
have like the ship and a lot of the costumes and the way the hawkmen looked and everything for the 1980 version they
1:01:37
basically just brought all of that 1930 stuff in and instead of going because we've had Star Wars as two three years
1:01:43
old by that point in time okay and they could have just gone make it like Star Wars and they didn't they lean all the way back to the 1930s yeah and it's one
1:01:50
of the things in it that I really I think it's got a very unique design aesthetic one of the really amazing thing about it one of the most
1:01:57
well-known gritty British crime dramas of the last
1:02:02
50 years is Michael Keynes Get Carter and I can never go over that my colleges
1:02:08
directed both of them all right I think such a gritty crime thrill and then he went late you know and then 10 12 how
1:02:14
many years later I was goes yeah I'm not going to do Flash Gordon which is literally like overdosed on quality
1:02:19
Street you know what I mean every possible color available and it's
1:02:24
but it's oh it's funny yeah because it's like an Imperial Guard that where the blue rappers there's ones that wear the pink rappers
1:02:31
as long as they don't have a different materials yeah when they're having the everyone bringing gifts to Ming yeah and
1:02:37
that tent into strangely a game of American football but it does look like people are basically dressed as quality
1:02:43
yeah yeah it's all like the anniversaries yeah different planets yeah have to come to I don't know
1:02:49
there's just so much about I really like because it's science fantasy that's what I'd call it yes it's it's like yeah
1:02:55
there's Robin Hood's men Timothy Dalton leads Robin Hood's men pretty much they live like on a forest yeah yeah and
1:03:00
they're basically like space Robin Hood space yeah Space Ranger kind of guys and then you get like the emperor's guard you've got the Brian blessed leading the
1:03:07
Hawkman and stuff like that so there's loads Timothy Dalton and Brian blessing yeah yeah there's there's quite a cast
1:03:12
have you ever watched Ted the thing with the teddy bear they yeah they reference uh Flash Gordon because they're all like
1:03:17
yeah the guy who plays flash Gordons yeah yeah because they crashes party yeah um but yeah there's so weird that's
1:03:24
brought me to a subject I've been I it's a terminology I've only I'm aware of but
1:03:29
I've only understood recently because I've got a load of fantasy art books at home right and there's two types of
1:03:34
fantasy art this High fantasy and low fantasy okay do you know the difference oh
1:03:41
[Applause] no it's high fantastic low fantasy would be like
1:03:47
the fantasy that was sort of stooped on the back of like medieval it's real
1:03:52
world and potential could fit into the timeline somewhere Kona yeah is low fantasy because that could I all sort of
1:03:58
Kane was high fantasy Canon's low fancy because it could fit into the timeline somewhere maybe before the Romans but
1:04:04
sometime after oh okay this time yeah actually what you're getting that yeah uh whereas High fantasy is like dragons
1:04:10
well I mean if you Game of Thrones Lord of the Rings I I'm trying to think about
1:04:16
Game of Thrones because it is so many comments it's its own yeah it's its own realm and world yeah with its
1:04:22
own place names yeah um so Lord of the Rings is classes High fantasy because it is a world of its own
1:04:29
yeah um and it's got like different beats because you can't have mythical beasts in low fantasy but they have to tie into a history
1:04:36
right okay so like a good example that would be say um a Minotaur in Greek mythology because
1:04:42
you go we know there was Greek warriors you know they dress roughly like this yes and then there's I mean dragons you know I mean if you did like if Game of
1:04:48
Thrones was and it was the UK as opposed to Westeros being like a really huge
1:04:54
version like almost an American scale of the of what would be the UK that because I guess that's what it's based off
1:04:59
because it's based off all the Roses the the politics and stuff yeah but but because High fantasy classes is like a
1:05:05
made-up thing made up creatures made up places um it made me think 40K low fantasy or
1:05:13
high fantasy oh that's an interesting one isn't it because it's Terror it's based 40 000
1:05:20
years in the future it is so low and high the low fantasy can be at any point
1:05:26
in time as long as it's based on our existence I was going to say
1:05:31
something then that was going to push it into put it in the comments what do you think yeah absolutely I was going to say push it into how you fancy going the
1:05:36
idea that like all of like the most important galaxy-wide magicians have got
1:05:42
together and created a perfect human being to lead things on and then you go well that's massively High fantasy but
1:05:49
then you go well no because we have a Jesus Christ character yeah yeah and that's managed to steal thousands a
1:05:55
couple of thousand years later still be yeah yeah you know a vital part of some people's lives and and you know and they
1:06:02
don't consider that to be they don't consider that to be fantasy you know I think when you go while
1:06:08
there's Elves and the zorks and and then that to me starts pushing it but if the Elves and the Orcs wouldn't like say you
1:06:14
take I can't remember they're in different planets yeah yeah yeah but then you know we don't know what the plan is still the soul system yeah then
1:06:21
there's other planets around that and yes there's demons in there but that's from the immaterium which comes later yeah yeah yeah do you think basically
1:06:27
then I'm just if you bolt a year onto it you
1:06:34
automatically put it in our realm into some degree like for example I remember when I went to see the new Dune I
1:06:40
remember sitting there and it's like because it's quite an unusual level of it's quite an unusual setting uh the way
1:06:45
it goes and I was like and it says the year 10 382 or something like that and you go oh
1:06:51
and then you go but it's quite weird so but there you go but now you give it a year and that's 8 000 years and change
1:06:58
from now then you go maybe that's the thing so I think maybe if you attach it if you attach a calendar that we
1:07:04
understand yeah refer to planet Earth at any point because if it doesn't then it's high
1:07:10
fantasy ah good question we all know how every single Star Wars
1:07:15
starts long time ago in a galaxy far far oh well done oh good work Steve because it's a galaxy far far yeah nice yeah so
1:07:22
now you're Stevo yeah that indirectly references Earth yeah and implies that this happened ages yeah far away yeah so
1:07:30
that borders High fantasy but in a low yeah because Star Wars
1:07:37
people say uh because I'm like if you say oh I really like sci-fi love Star Wars someone inevitably says so uh Star
1:07:45
Wars and sci-fi it's fantasy yeah I mean you could tell my weekend's been spent thinking about all different movies and all different backgrounds are going low fantasy High fantasy loafers I would say
1:07:52
40K is low fantasy because it's a plausible version of the future yeah yeah I mean I mean Star Trek is the same
1:07:57
yes uh that's low fantasy because that references Earth and it is Earth yeah and it comes from Earth yeah and they do
1:08:04
reference and go back to the 80s at one point in Star Trek yeah yeah I don't know well they were back in our time in
1:08:11
the season two of Picard as well yeah that's true I love it when you you're watching I
1:08:18
think the the one I watched the most of was Voyager yeah Captain Janeway yeah yeah like it's
1:08:25
great I used to have quite a crush on Janeway oh everyone does it's fine everyone
1:08:30
she could capture me anywhere great
1:08:39
um and and every single Star Trek ever when it's like oh we've gone wildly back
1:08:46
in time to somewhere that is conveniently the year that we're filming this yeah oh yeah I always think that's
1:08:51
right when they looked at the budget and they go right oh the budget this year we're really pushing it with all these effects yeah just writing episodes where
1:08:58
we went back to 1980 yeah if there was a big movie on the time they had an accessing costumes so the hollow Suite
1:09:04
breaks down and they're in World War II because Saving Private Ryan had not long been on and we've got all these costumes that are hanging around so let's use
1:09:10
those oh amazing I want my favorite one of them is the um is the uh the soldier
1:09:17
slash security guards in um in Firefly we're all wearing
1:09:22
I know I never clock that I've watched Firefly loads I think that's all in the Starship Troopers I've seen Starship
1:09:28
Troopers two or three times like a while ago um but yeah my instance of five flowers the
1:09:34
movie Serenity yes and I just thought it was one-off movie then someone said oh no it's a TV show yeah and I watched the
1:09:39
TV show and I just couldn't go over how awesome that was and then I found out it got canceled I was like yeah all to a
1:09:45
friend of mine makes I've got the box set of of firefly and a legend Firefly and I lent him the movie and I went
1:09:50
there you go and um and he come back and I said what did he think he went he said this TV series is greasy so what a hell
1:09:57
of a season finale that was with the film yeah yeah yeah yeah I think it was
1:10:03
like I yeah fight if somebody's put me on the spot and says what's your favorite TV show ever it's like it's
1:10:08
always fine fireflies definitely in there and I've got to be honest I remember because back then when it canceled the internet wasn't massively a
1:10:15
thing no I don't remember when I was going once the second half of that season we only had 14 yeah and he only
1:10:22
finally like filled up they went oh they canceled I remember really being like on the brink for Tears because yeah this is
1:10:28
phenomenally good yeah and you know I can't think of now there's been a few TV shows where there's just so many great actors in this show looking forward to
1:10:34
that yeah yeah yeah but it's such a such a sad thing to sit kids to finish but because people didn't really
1:10:40
I guess like it resonated with a certain group of people incredibly well but didn't quite have that much space at
1:10:47
that time I guess if I'm looking back now it would have been early if you're lucky to get cable yeah and Freeview or
1:10:54
it wasn't even preview then it was like satellite TV it was on sci-fi wasn't it yeah so I didn't have satellite TV we
1:11:00
had terrestrial so yeah yeah five channels and you liked it um if it was like more like nowadays
1:11:06
yeah and it was streamed and the internet exists with a lot more like yeah yeah yeah yeah Instagram
1:11:14
um and Reddit and stuff like that if those things were around then I think it probably wouldn't have been canceled because people would have seen how
1:11:19
popular it was yeah well I am sorry but then you know that's just like well I think you get it you are right and
1:11:24
you've answered you you made the correct assumption there which is that people missed a found it again when when
1:11:32
the years have passed which is why the movie probably did the movie was yeah why the movie got made and it wasn't I
1:11:37
don't think it was only being watched by people who watched Firefly back in the day it's probably been people who found now I've still got customers now who are
1:11:44
only just we were talking to before off here um just talking about Battlestar Galactica I know they're saying about we
1:11:51
talked about that oh no that was how long have we been on uh yeah but an hour and 14 minutes it was like um Battlestar
1:11:58
sorry you're talking about on air Battlestar Galactica I still have people now who are just discovering it now yeah
1:12:03
yeah you know and I think that's unhype I think hype can run for a long time yeah and I think that's why the Firefly
1:12:09
movie did so well one thing yeah I mean Firefly is fantastic one thing that frustrated a lot of people in
1:12:15
um uh was it the last Jedi the middle one of the new yeah when they had the
1:12:21
slowest Chase in the world ever oh God yeah and then as well Star Wars has never talked about
1:12:28
fuel spaceship fuel yeah yeah ever they're just like light speed
1:12:34
um and then they were just like oh their ships have always been lighter and faster we're just going to pursue them at two
1:12:41
miles an hour the thing I always got about that sorry yeah sorry is the the
1:12:46
first episode of like you know the newer Battlestar Galactica that's now like 20 years old or whatever when um they had
1:12:53
that like hour-long special oh the 33 minutes so three minutes yeah that was genius every 33 minutes the cylons come
1:12:59
back and they keep jumping and jumping and jumping for days yeah yeah and if I
1:13:04
can't remember how that got resolved if stuff um there was a ship that turned up uh there was one ship that was missing
1:13:10
and they jumped again and then it turned up and it was gonna like Ram them and then yeah oh dude
1:13:20
in that scene of Star Wars that would have been like so much more tension yeah yeah yeah and it was just such a great
1:13:26
way I thought we were talking about slow slow chases I thought you were talking about the the really terrible bike Chase oh yeah
1:13:31
I mean it might have been a 20 mile Zone so you don't know this about tattooing
1:13:36
we're hard and gangsters but I'm not doing over the limit yeah and we all know those tiny little mopeds can't go
1:13:43
very fast I mean I've been I've had mopeds coming next week I'm like sure there's a bit with that uh last gen eye
1:13:51
on a car yeah but the last Channel I said there's there's the slowest space Chase ever right correct to the point
1:13:57
that a bunch of characters go off go to another planet do a thing then come back come back yeah I'm just like how did you
1:14:03
catch up if anyone else is struggling and then everything that they did was completely pointless oh yeah
1:14:08
um and and I I get that you know it was like oh he's talking about failure and this that and the other but
1:14:14
um Infinity War had come out like um like part one yeah and it's like they
1:14:20
fail to kill Thanos and Thanos did yeah he succeeds yeah but that was done so
1:14:26
much better like oh absolutely you really felt food well you think you're winning it all the way all the way
1:14:31
through even when they've they uh Thunder yeah and all the guys are like going through the shield you still think
1:14:38
well they've got this Thor's just turned up now yeah and he starts like cracking
1:14:43
skulls convincing everybody I thought they really did a good job with Thor in that film and then in the most recent
1:14:48
one I'm just horrendous I've lost track of Marvel completely I just don't care yeah you know at one point in time the minute
1:14:55
the movie was like what the minute there was a Marvel movie coming out I was almost stood outside the cinema like
1:15:00
waiting yeah yeah now they come out and they're like yeah and another really sad thing is the apathy I go ah I'll catch
1:15:06
it on Disney plus yeah yes yeah because I love that man one and I really like that man too not quite the same level
1:15:11
apparently this one's not great and then I'm like I don't know I like how you apparently I've never seen it but the
1:15:18
reviews are mixed so yeah there's like you know Ant-Man 3's out and I'm like don't get there it'll be on the it'll be
1:15:23
on the Disney Plus in eight weeks yeah spoilers totally start dying sad sad moment I I you know I was like that's
1:15:30
sad I have a question for all all three of us I've got I've got two hit me Steve movers what movie it didn't matter what
1:15:38
age you were uh what movie made you cry the most men can't cry it's true
1:15:45
I remember being quite young and iRobot making me sad oh yeah that's a good shout as they go um because it's like
1:15:52
it's a robot but he can feel and and then Will Smith like hates robots but
1:15:58
then they start to like each other um and then and then he sacrifices himself but then he has a second brain and it's all happy but I remember when
1:16:04
he died being being quite sad don't think I cried yeah um yeah I don't know
1:16:11
oh I remember being a kid and absolutely crying my leg off an E.T yeah
1:16:16
pasty white and they found him so by the way that is a sad moments died as well
1:16:22
yeah oh god oh yeah so I I have two 42 now Jeffrey there's been others that
1:16:29
I've cried to but I can't remember what they are and I remember me and Steve talking about Rocky at one point we both cried at Rocky because he cried because
1:16:34
I think whiskey might have been involved though uh different Steve not UT um but
1:16:39
um there was I was gonna ask him but the two that spring to mind I was
1:16:45
very young so the first one was Heavy Goes Bananas when he falls in the lake and comes out Rusty don't know why every
1:16:51
time that scene appeared and we watched that how long have you seen Valley cool I don't know but he went yesterday and I cried my eyes out but the worst one oh
1:16:58
well I don't think I cried I was just very upset and I wouldn't let it lie and I think my dad got really annoyed I'm trying to remember if it's reached for
1:17:04
the sky or Battle of Britain right I remember Battle of Britain right okay he said this is where it gets weird so
1:17:10
it's not about like you know Britain defending against the tyranny of Nazi Germany trying to take over and all
1:17:16
the planes and all the Pirates getting shot down and certainly ever yeah there's a scene where a plane crashlands
1:17:21
I think it's a Spitfire crashlands farmer runs up to help the pilot get out
1:17:27
he puts his ax on the wing grabs the pilot drags him out I was distraught that he didn't pick his ax battle
1:17:34
and I would ask me mum and dad for hours after what happened to the guy's ax so where's his ax it was fine he went back
1:17:41
to get it Chris and I would not leave it now as a paranoid you I can imagine like trying to go but what about his ax like
1:17:47
yeah the one I think that made me cry because somebody else was crying and it is this
1:17:54
it hasn't got a jolly punchline I remember I went on my own to see Saving Private Ryan loved it as much as you can
1:18:01
love a film like that and then I took my wife to see you and you know at the
1:18:07
beginning when there and you know when I came away from watching it the first time I thought I need to know more about that and he going why were they in such
1:18:12
a terrible position you find out the amphibious tanks weren't working very well and a lot of the tanks went under the water yeah so infantry to end up
1:18:19
without the support to back them up yes to take the bunkers out and I remember then I went to see it with my wife I
1:18:26
honestly broke my heart I was sitting there watching her and they're just getting mowed down and I looked up my
1:18:31
wife and my wife was in absolute tears that's horrid scenes actually an absenteeism didn't they um use some of
1:18:37
that footage to like for like like yeah this this is this this is very lifelike
1:18:43
that my wife and my wife sort of just was just been cracking and I sort of grabbed all around you okay she just looked at me she just went what's the
1:18:50
plan and then I was like okay and it was just like crushed me yeah I
1:18:57
mean yeah I just literally got it you just reminded me so uh you turned to your wife we went the plan is to enter
1:19:03
Chili's I'm sure Elizabeth mommy mentioned this but there's a film called the arrival for the rivals it's an alien
1:19:09
yeah oh yeah and they learn about language yeah yeah it's got a Hawkeye in it right yeah it's got Hawkeye and Lois
1:19:16
Lane and Lewis Lane Hawkeye and Lois Lane team up from DC and Marvel to fight on alien it's a good film so it's
1:19:22
phenomenal oh is it it's Geneva Nev oh fantastic yeah he's done a few that I love that
1:19:28
and another really good one as well called prisoners which is really good with Hugh Jackman in it yes a huge Jack
1:19:34
man huge Jackman so the intro to that is about 30 seconds to a minute long right and
1:19:42
it's about her having a child yes and the child then gets cancer and then the child dies yeah right so I've never seen
1:19:49
this film up to this point where this is heavily pregnant with Charlie oh God we start watching this she's in tears I
1:19:55
feel really sad and she's like why did you make me watch this movie and I was like I had no idea this is gonna happen
1:20:00
I've just seen the a trailer and it had spaceships yeah it's not a picture but it's it's so it's like literally so
1:20:07
heartbreaking that first minute and I was just like what is going what is this movie right now yeah no I love about that is I love that I think I really
1:20:14
liked about that film it's like you know generally whenever you make a movie and Aliens inevitably to some degree always
1:20:21
end up looking a bit like or stunty even roughly even if you look at the xenomorph from yeah yeah yeah because
1:20:27
two arms have got two legs they've got a mouthwear a mouth would be and they've got a neck and a head but the things and
1:20:32
that that were just like just like a large hand weren't they yeah yeah and the fact that they lived they could
1:20:39
breathe our air so they created like a a barrier so that you could see that they'll breeds this thing that was
1:20:45
really massively Smoky so gray film to bring this back to Warhammer thank you
1:20:52
this is the two-year movie podcast now I told you sidetracked
1:20:59
um there was a discussion in the office when I was at GW and somebody was
1:21:05
um so much for your diet Jeff I'm really hungry can I have a biscuit because she can cheers Liam
1:21:13
oh you only go for a couple day you can have as many as you want yeah just in case I mean we've been going for a while
1:21:18
so we're probably gonna stop soon but um and then I've got a biscuit and I know I'm gonna do some talking now and I
1:21:24
can't eat it um so someone in the office who started the debate said
1:21:30
um I don't think tyranids should exist because they take away from the
1:21:35
existential threat that Orcs should be um and I remember chatting to Pat about
1:21:43
it at the time and he was like but you can't get rid of the only like alien looking aliens
1:21:48
um because Orcs just you know as as you said everybody's like bipedal or like you
1:21:55
know a bit of a robot like chaos and everything it's like oh they're humans but they're weird um and then it's like right here's a
1:22:00
like a weird bug thing and they were like nah get rid of him but isn't everything a threat in 40K
1:22:07
yeah I like the idea that the two the thing I like about the tune is I like that I don't know that I know this goes
1:22:12
for the Orcs as well but I like the idea that the that pteranods are a real big worry for
1:22:19
everyone yeah yeah even Yorks I like the fact that it's like so there was um a I don't know if Elvis
1:22:27
with a planet find it again but it's a really good it's a dad I'm not sure and it was pointing by a dwarf and it's it's
1:22:34
really good and it it mentions I think it's either the uh tank company that's in necropolis uh
1:22:42
which is the third book of the gaunts ghost novels and they do this special scissor formation uh where they do like
1:22:47
stuff with tank and they're just cutting through like the chaos lines anyway the planet's being attacked by like synchronized tank then yeah yeah it's
1:22:54
called it's something like the scissor maneuver or something like that but this they're short basically it's about a
1:22:59
good 10 12 pages long yeah um in a white dwarf and it's from a
1:23:05
guardman's point of view and the system is being invaded by tyranids there's no
1:23:10
doubt about it and they've been prepping and they're trying to get people off-willed and what starts to happen is the timid start to actually play this
1:23:17
planet fall at this point so all the things come down there's all these little Micro bugs and they start actually eating away at the the metal of
1:23:24
the vehicles or the driving is trying to get this truck to like to to where the Spaceport is so he can get off world and
1:23:30
they start the oven is obviously with regiments it's all Madness and as he's driving he sees these Armenians doing
1:23:35
their special scissor maneuver but then they all get wiped out so and I think one of the characters from the book is
1:23:40
there as well so it's like oh no that's what happened to him yeah and there's this really good scene where you
1:23:46
suddenly see a load of drop pods land space needs to turn up and I think it's
1:23:51
the size of the emperor if memory serves um so these drop pods come down and Marines come out and as they come out
1:23:57
they literally make this sort of like Landing zone of death where all the bolt guns are just rip into pieces these
1:24:03
tunings it's like oh my gods turning onto everything and it's just like they're clearing the space and you can see on the swords like yeah as a driver
1:24:09
they're trying to get the hell out of Dodge because they can't see the planet the planet's dead they're just trying to get people off okay and these little
1:24:15
Micro bugs are actually eating away at people as well yeah the Swarm and stuff like that so it sounds horrific it
1:24:20
sounds like End of Days level stuff yeah and it's all in this this short and I wish it was like more to this story or
1:24:26
if it was like in a book it might be in an event I don't know but then one Marine Falls then another
1:24:32
Falls then another Falls and before long all the Marines are dead it's like let's just like oh no because at that point
1:24:39
they're like the the morale starts to boost because the yeah to save the day yeah and then that just goes right down
1:24:46
because they get Torn to Pieces because they they can only prolong that swarm for so long because it's a swarm which
1:24:51
is terrifying because it's just like they're calling over the dead bodies they don't care yeah to soup anyway
1:24:57
um and I think long story short he doesn't make it he probably gets eaten by some liquor or some Jean Steeler or
1:25:03
something like that and some horrible dank dark hanger Bay or something like that but yeah but it's it's
1:25:09
turned Invasion meets horror movie meets a bit of alien that's interesting because iron uh the the new animation uh
1:25:15
that finally came out in warham plus uh last week at the time of filming so I
1:25:21
feel wanna know when when they announced when I see nothing there I feel like I need to get me party Happy blow it back yeah yeah yeah yeah it was um someone in
1:25:27
the Discord posted the original picture from um of all of the name when they
1:25:33
announced Warhammer plus they were like all these animations going to be on warholm plus and we're only like halfway through with the net with the names and
1:25:38
everything but anyway um it's uh iron within so it's to do with iron Warriors and um
1:25:44
uh jakario Pirates are kind of like attacking a town or something and um
1:25:50
and then they're like we need to call the angels and then the Space Marines turn up but surprise it's the iron
1:25:56
warriors uh it's not spoilers it's the name of the show and um and and then they're just like oh
1:26:03
they're like like when they arrive and they're massacring all these drakari and then one of them turns around is just
1:26:10
like I'll kill some civilians as well and that same thing they're like yes yes
1:26:16
go Space Marines oh no
1:26:22
there is a wicked scene like there is some really cool stuff with your own Warriors in there like loads of them have um I don't know the proper name for
1:26:28
them but they have all these big shields yeah yeah um and it's just like one Jakari is like oh I'll just I'll just take a peek oh
1:26:34
I've got no head and they all take like a step forwards in formation without talking and it's just like proper badass
1:26:40
like Marines versus jakaris is quite interesting yeah yeah I I do have a soft spot for the iron Warriors because those
1:26:46
are like the first things yeah that I ever painted on the channel um and not necessarily from like a law
1:26:52
perspective I mean they're the ultimate badass then I mean Siege people from the background point of view I like the
1:26:58
Imperial fist so me and you could eventually for the channel do like your rhyme within and I can do like you know you you're the yeah experts yeah and
1:27:06
we'll defend defending experts if you remember always yeah get it the wrong way around yeah usually but
1:27:11
um but yeah two minutes are terrifying interesting story that that interesting thing that was written wasn't it about
1:27:17
them and it was only ever really written the ones was as a theory amongst like the um the Imperium Scholars that
1:27:25
deteriorates are running from something yeah something else yeah I reckon it's in slavers I reckon that's what they're really interesting
1:27:31
well the other thing I've heard is the tuners are meant to be the universe's natural antibodies yeah and oh because
1:27:39
chaos has appeared yeah yeah they're eating away at it well it's qui-gonjin taught us there's always a
1:27:45
bigger fish that's absolutely right that is very true absolutely right yeah I like that I like the I think it'd be excited to his known it's
1:27:54
10th edition buddies aren't they rumors yeah I wonder whether they're finally you're all talking 40K for a minute
1:28:00
whether they'll actually finally um because then as much as I think they've been a very robust Runner models
1:28:07
I think must attempt against the home against really could do with a bit of love now oh yeah yeah it's been around a long time when the combat Patrol got
1:28:15
announced they were like you know you get a lot of plastic in there hope you like removing mold lines oh yeah well
1:28:21
that's the thing they're so dated yeah they would I think you know my I I was
1:28:27
playing against two and it's not that long ago with my death cards and I still thought that the the the the the home
1:28:33
against and the term can still looked okay oh yeah yeah but I think they could do with being a little bit more Dynamic
1:28:38
weirdly they did those little boxes where you got like five cadians or like three chaos Terminators it was like
1:28:44
little push fit ones where you just like push it was like a one-piece mold with like a gun that gets pushed oh yeah and they did that for the Tyrion is it was
1:28:50
like two halves that just connected together and they were so easy to build and I was always thought to myself like it would have been such a shame that
1:28:56
they never did more uh engineering like that for the tuners
1:29:01
because as much as I like doing like homework on to lots of claws it did get tedious because they're mostly in the same pose yeah unless you want to do
1:29:08
like a cool conversion woman hate standing up as well yeah yeah you put a little bit of terrain under them yeah
1:29:14
but yeah so having like two two halves of a homogon and a tournament yeah is like your regular sets would have been
1:29:19
so much easier for like because I either turned it on me for a long long time yeah uh painting it over a weekend which
1:29:25
was spray black dry Bush of gray and then glossed The Living Daylights out of it put yellow markings that's what made it work was the yellow markings yeah
1:29:31
nice spot color yeah Through Your Eyes my my Tim he um he does them in that um he does that uses that green stuff well
1:29:38
paint and also they have like that weird Shimmer like um
1:29:45
turbo dog stuff might be really good yeah yeah yeah a little thing about my two minutes I made this great idea
1:29:51
um I know Liz will be laughing the way she's watching this because she was like that's so stupid I did anyway I did this I made at the time I was living in a
1:29:58
well rented house and my brother had gone to New Zealand by this point now I'm going to make a army over a weekend
1:30:03
as I did and I based I wanted on snow there was no real decent snow effects at the time the Van Halen blizzard wasn't a
1:30:10
thing so what I did was I got PVA glue and sugar mixed it together all right I've got caster sugar I think it was caster sugar
1:30:17
no icing sugar icing sugar is more of a powder yeah icing sugar and PVA mix it together look beautiful I did it spangly
1:30:24
caught the light looked like you know snow fresh snow whilst it was wet I got my blood mixed because blood for the
1:30:30
blood God wasn't the thing so I got a bit of chestnut ink a bit of red Gore and a bit of hard coat or gloss mixed it
1:30:36
together and I'll drip it and it'll make like little like oh like pools yeah because that was like my sand versus
1:30:43
static grass for these guts because I wanted monster snow because I've been playing the thing quite a bit there was
1:30:49
a uh oh yeah they're not Xbox uh yeah it was great as well now to test your mates
1:30:54
just to see if they were like the thing or not it was always good but so I made this they looked really good went in the
1:30:59
cabinet in the store and yeah bright white bleachers in the sun welcome to
1:31:04
yellow snow I'll go
1:31:16
it's a table of pure panic yeah exactly so Alyssa just laughs her head off even
1:31:21
now when we talk about my yellow snow she already knew that was going to happen but she was like I like what you
1:31:27
try to do though so so what what bleach is what is that it was because it was white it just bleached yeah because it
1:31:33
eventually went off anyway yeah yeah oh fascinating yes I tried something it
1:31:40
didn't work well it did in time yeah for a time if I kept him in a very dark place and never brought them out again
1:31:45
yes it would have been all right yeah yeah yeah so yeah learn from my mistakes folks paint an army of a weekend easy
1:31:52
basing it with things that aren't snow products don't don't do it yeah well
1:31:58
luckily for us lots of great snow products yeah absolutely I've been loving the AK stuff and playing around with that a lot it's really good there's
1:32:04
three different types there's like a dust that you can like if you've got like frost on tanks they all feel empty
1:32:11
which really just yeah when I pick them up they all fill up into platform one which is heavy which I think is the dust
1:32:16
powder the one that's the emptiest is the one that's like the valve blizzard stuff but you have like a thick
1:32:21
valhallan blizzard kind of texture yeah then there's stuff that can only be really described as like
1:32:28
wet icing sugar or glue white glue because it's like really
1:32:33
sort of like viscous sort of look looking like yeah horrid stuff um and you can put I've been putting
1:32:39
that over the Van Halen blizzard esque I call it Val and blizzard because people know what yeah yeah yeah
1:32:44
um so you put this stuff over it adds a bit more Sheen a bit more shine on its own won't work yeah because it's very sort of I guess translucent yeah but
1:32:52
over white and put on the top gives it a bit more glimmer and then if you wanted things to look a bit Frosty like weapons
1:32:58
or tops of boots or all right you know like around the face or the hats and stuff yeah it's powder which you can just do there's some I'll be interested
1:33:06
there was um uh it was a broader wargaming video where they tried loads of different effect paints and there was
1:33:12
one from Vallejo and um uh it was like a frost paint yeah um
1:33:19
and when they tried it it didn't work but they were like oh here's one we made earlier and it looked amazing you kind
1:33:25
of like do a recess shade but and it all crystallizes yeah and that looked amazing oh yeah that's interesting
1:33:30
that'd be really interesting to try yeah yeah get some more yeah bass and things I think oh we keep me I keep meaning to
1:33:36
do bass in release related stuff yeah I could get new products and try new things again we're gonna do this next time I'm gonna do this next time yeah
1:33:41
yeah using those liquid pigments have become like a go-to now for my basis yeah the Dark Angels video which will be
1:33:47
out by the time this is released so my neck and under for my own gang again yeah come under bases used to be spray
1:33:53
it's painted silver and then I'd or it was actually Balthazar gold then I dry brushed it silver and I used to get like
1:33:58
thin down trolls there orange and running in the recesses um I was in two minds with the newer stuff to use dirty down oh yeah um but
1:34:06
then it wouldn't match with anything else I've done previously so I was like I'm Gonna Keep keep the theme going but I've discovered AK liquid pigment light
1:34:13
rust orange is like I literally have Silver Base as I coat it over one coat
1:34:18
over the Silver Base and it looks like all the effort of the previous bases really but it looks the same oh wow
1:34:24
excellent but a dry brush that was silver and a bit of like gray to make it look like a bit of stone and I put like
1:34:29
oil pulls on it that's anything I need to do is do something like the other little oil pool and stuff but yeah that's cool one paint over silver and
1:34:36
not bath Balthazar gold there you go you got the accent yeah it's the official
1:34:42
way anytime you say Balthazar gold yeah you just have to say it's the lawn yeah and a Lloyd I I don't
1:34:50
make the rules yeah I just follow them yeah yeah that's right that's true fantastic uh we should probably talk
1:34:56
about the giveaway oh it's good oh crap we were meant to do that right at this yeah yeah I just realized we're not
1:35:01
we're not even mentioning the giveaway so we've got we've already done uh our February February so that's all been
1:35:06
picked all done and dusted all done and Dustin on to March so thank you for all everyone that's entered with their
1:35:12
favorite art we had a lot of art to look through in a lot of like comments which was great so I really appreciate that if
1:35:17
you're still posting it we're done now you probably want to start it's nice to let us know what you are but it's nice to let I mean if you just want to share
1:35:23
what you like that's also cool there's some really good ones so Pat has got some stuff I'll pick up the first okay
1:35:28
I've got some stuff I don't know what you're gonna pick up got this yeah you went in you got these they've got the exalted eight bound so someone could win
1:35:36
this and I ask in a minute or two what is the rules for the giveaway and I'll let you tell me because I think I think
1:35:41
we'll just make them up we'll just make them up we have the Council of the death Lord oh a bit more Tire in this box
1:35:48
yeah so yeah you can start your own guard Army if you want to Strike Force
1:35:53
Augustus Augustus yeah I guess so new Dreadnought heavy intercessors and the meme Squad the meme Squad yep got them
1:36:00
in there
1:36:06
he was proud to be part of the team that created the lieutenant for this oh yes I
1:36:11
see that yeah nice yeah nice yeah and then we've got this guys though yeah so um that is the the
1:36:19
battlefleet Battle Force uh something really the chaos one and we've got some nice animal cases
1:36:25
very generously donated this Ace so we have um we we very kindly gave us um a
1:36:33
set each these are kind of like hard hard Mini cases loads of foam inserts place to put your cards and your rulers
1:36:40
and stuff and then what you have is but it's actually quite useful because
1:36:47
you've got lots of little thin bits as well so small Marines
1:36:52
kill team war cry um Lord of the Rings yeah yeah
1:37:03
so there's a big one and there's also a small one so you could win both of those and if you're a motorcyclist you have
1:37:09
one figure to bring to Pats when you're doing filming perfect yeah obviously not everyone's gonna be cool to Pats fit
1:37:14
film no no it's a small monster or a large Space Marine yeah you could fit a
1:37:20
