This is a very different style of video for me guys. So.... do you see this as valuable or just waffling? How can I improve this style of on-site VLOG for you in future watches?
I wanted to get a bit of a balance of humor with info, But, as I watch it back, I think it would have been better to get into some action a lot faster. There's a lot of just meandering-around up front. So i recognise that.
Once again, this is why I prefer my scripted stuff

morning so it is on face detection I quite like that it's like a little robot
0:21
hey right let's hope this is
0:28
decent so I had this great idea come to form next and then I'd be able to interview all the different brands about
0:34
the future of 3D printing and what it means to them but walking around yesterday I realized that H carrying a
0:40
load of camera equipment's heavy I mean I had 15 kilos on my back poor s Prentice had like 20 odd but still I'm a
0:46
weakling can't do it so I've decided instead I'm just going to summarize everything into one video and show you
0:51
all of the future of 3D printing or at least what I can gleam from it by looking at these I can only say masters
0:58
of industry and then if few of the brands that we all know and love not to put them down but let's be fair the consumer space and the industrial space
1:06
are very different things and this is certainly more of an industrial
1:14
[Music]
1:22
convention right so the first thing I did that was kind of stupid was I spent yesterday walking through that Hall
1:29
there and then I walked around it I've got a time lapse of it I'll probably put up on screen now and then that's hall 11 then
1:36
there's Hall 12 meanwhile I was getting messages from various Brands going oh come to our booth come to our booth
1:42
we're in 11 this and 12 that and I started walking down there and I was walking around and I spent about 2 and
1:47
1/ half hours walking around these Halls couldn't find any of them only to realize there's also an upstairs this
1:54
place is huge a lot of people are probably wondering
2:01
what is form next and basically it it's not what I thought it was I thought oh cool it's a 3D printer convention it's
2:08
not it's a convention for additive manufacturing which basically is a way
2:13
of making things by adding material as opposed to I guess it's called
2:18
subtractive manufacturing where you use like a CNC machine to Mill shapes out of
2:24
solid blocks 3D printing is the other way around where you actually add material yeah Mak sense so this is a
2:31
place for that now most people probably think of 3D printers as the things they've seen in the home what I've shown
2:38
on YouTube videos but this place is let's just say it's something different I think the Thing Worth pointing out is
2:44
a lot of these printers aren't made for us I'm just going to walk around and show you some mad [ __ ] that's just
2:51
insane to look at and to think about and it kind of gives us a glimpse into the future of what we might actually get in
2:57
our homes as these Technologies are shrunk but there are 3D printers here that you literally walk into that's
3:06
[Music]
3:12
mad helloin Ross former videos I think a few people
3:18
will remember my video on this one the Strat assist j55 uh these guys aren't Strat assist so there you go there's the
3:24
printer so the booths here are a crazy mix some of them are companies that sell through 3D printers other ones are
3:32
companies that sell 3D printing materials others are companies that do print with said printers and materials
3:38
oh yeah look there's there's Ean we know them they they make filament and
3:47
stuff it's also worth shouting out that you can literally walk anywhere and pretty much pick up free samples of
3:53
stuff so that's cool all right look at that forget your orange storm Giger look
4:00
at this thing robots everywhere like massive
4:08
robot arms again nothing to do with 3D printing really but cool no idea what
4:14
this is but I want one I think this is like a VAP resin yeah this is a resin
4:19
printer so it's SLA so it's lasers but it's going to be top down lasers so you
4:25
look up in there look that's your laser this is like a massive vat of resin
4:31
there's another brand I want to talk about actually that does something like this so I'll come back to them later
4:36
right for anyone who's got an orange storm Giga sat at home yeah this is this is a proper machine these are real
4:42
printers or at least they seem to be this looks like an orange storm gigger but with an enclosure and it's on wheels
4:49
that would be really handy remember how I mentioned 3D printers that you can literally walk into yeah that's a
4:56
printer that printer is a room
5:01
you talk about enclosures but I can actually feel the heat coming off this it it's mad this is insane nobody's
5:09
noticed the 3D printed table like right at the booth again just more massive 3D
5:16
printers see no matter how good these things are I can still see the layer lines there's a lot of booths where it's
5:22
like hey here's our filament and I'm kind of like I I don't get it cuz also
5:28
and I get this it's cool but you're going to mix them pieces up really easily like was was either the dark pink
5:34
horse or the light pink horse yes I know it's called a night if anybody knows who
5:40
designed these models where I can get the STL files I would really like to
5:48
know thank you very much no worries it's great to meet
5:54
you I just want to point this out iand mate gave me a panda look how cute that is that's really sweet thank you guys um
6:01
in exchange for the panda please check out Ian mate filament I I don't know if it's any good but you know they gave me
6:08
a panda so check them out I know I'm going to get haters out there going this guy says he can't be bought and now he's
6:14
touting filament for a panda yeah look guys I said go and look at it I I don't know if it's any good I've not looked at
6:19
the background of the company again free Panda and all I've done in exchange is
6:24
said these guys exist I had no idea that eon uh made of resin I'm not a fan I I
6:32
don't like the look of it I'm very simple when it comes to resins do I like the look of it is it tough enough for
6:38
the job I need it to do I I don't like the look of it it's weird and we put a lot on this which is where I think do
6:45
you remember when the Frozen Mega 8ks came out or the mini 8ks and we got that
6:51
8K resin at the same time that we all loved I honestly think the reason that that was as popular as it was was more
6:58
to do with how it looked than how dimensionally accurate it is uh
7:04
which is really good okay one booth is for some reason giving away
7:20
pancakes you've heard of airless basketballs these guys are literally letting you have a have a play so I'm
7:26
going to have a play now bear in mind I'm doing this onehanded
7:31
that was louder than I thought never mind worth a shot all I
7:36
needed was some pastries and a free coffee uh check out graphy no idea who
7:43
graphy is thanks these are really nice we've got like lemon in I've spent more time filming the cooking of Korean
7:51
street food so far than anytime on 3D printers but hey I want to give you the
7:57
full experience don't rate the coffee though let's go and look at some form lab stuff cuz these guys are apparently
8:03
Awesome form four nice big screen nice meny thing I don't know if one of them
8:10
is working but that slides back and forth um and the point of that is to mix the resin to heat it up but it all
8:18
comes unlatches so there's some way there you go so that comes off and you can lift it out and that's obviously
8:24
going to be dripping with resin then you've got a clip there you go that side and that
8:31
side and then the vat just lifts out which is nice and then your resin material goes in here and then there's
8:38
your build plate mounts on nice little
8:43
latch close it oh that ooh that's smooth like it's the little things time-lapse
8:51
camera as well and then a lead screw not a ball screw and a single linear rail so
8:58
you know it form labs are getting all the praise in the world for their machines and they've got this single
9:04
linear rail mechanism and then you've got your your resin there with like a little thing so you can see what's in it
9:11
and then that pops out that's their materials which then slides in UI wise
9:18
cartridge fast mode build platform confirm it's clean
9:24
yes it's locked and clean confirm if the mixer is locked and unused
9:31
yes hopefully you can see that so that's all good this looks like a very standard
9:36
interface and then it'll print one of these models we're not going to do that and then settings General oh my word
9:44
there's so much analytics share print logs Advanced capabilities activate new
9:51
capability ooh got a special code for activating new capabilities show on boarding oh
9:59
very nice look at that okay I need to get my circular polarizer out for this but still right get
10:07
started Europe next yep
10:12
connected okay watch this so actually the light comes on to take the photo and
10:18
that is a sensible light watch this that's
10:25
cool uh next enable analytics uh do I want in or out yeah
10:31
level the printer must be completely level and then it's actually got a measurement thing the printer is level
10:38
okay so it knows that sensors and insert resin tank it's in insert mixer it's in
10:45
insert build platform it's in close the cover get ready to print next add
10:51
printer to your account this looks like a literal print basically it mixes the
10:57
resin all the time so for those of you you've seen resins that get like that separate where you've got like part of
11:04
the material separates from the other so you've got like the really clear stuff then you've got the thick resiny stuff
11:09
it mixes that it also ensures that when you're heating the resin the heat is dissipated through the resin more evenly
11:16
and it's also got Force detection in there so if you get a layer that's stuck to the release film and not the plate or
11:21
the previous layer then it will detect that and stop the print immediately and warn you like this is the [ __ ] isn't it
11:29
but you see these here if you squeeze these I'm not going to do it if you squeeze those it will actually Flex this
11:38
and make the print drop off so no more scrapers and [ __ ] like that you
11:44
literally just pop and drop I think I want one I think I genuinely think I
11:49
want one so we've got the form four then we've got this cleaning
11:58
system hey that looks fun you see the fan spinning and then
12:03
we've got this little cure station which is so cute so you just select your material and then it
12:10
preheats and then there's your cure station which I'm assuming like that's
12:16
good the inside's all mirrored that's a turntable although I'm knackering it at the moment that's so awesome and then
12:23
there's your UV Arch that it goes through this is a different world isn't it
12:29
so this is the form 4 L this is the big one there's your cure
12:36
station and then you your wash station people are saying you should get a form
12:42
laabs you should review a form laabs the problem with the form laabs is it's like 4 to 5,000 and the way I make money on
12:49
this channel I have affiliate links now formlabs don't have an affiliate program that I can join so even if I do a video
12:55
and everyone suddenly buys formlabs printers there's no way I can at least Break Even because I won't get enough
13:02
video views in order to offset the cost of that printer but at the same time I'd
13:07
really love to play with the printer so there would be value in it but as soon as I'm done with it it' Go in storage
13:13
like the rest of the printers so if you want me to review a form laabs I need a
13:18
lot of views so if you've got any ideas first of all I need you to say review of form laabs in your comment and I need
13:25
hundreds of those just to know that the video itself will actually do half decent but then I need an idea
13:33
of an approach and I'm not a YouTuber who wants to go ah glitch glamour like I
13:38
know I do clickbait but at the same time I do subtle clickbait like oh this printer's got one problem that you need
13:45
to know about and it's it's usually a tiny problem or something like that but I don't do the big catch everyone oh my
13:51
God the general public would give a [ __ ] about this kind of video so I also need
13:57
some of those ideas so if I get enough comments and an idea that I think might
14:02
actually be useful to like I'm talking a million view video to even come close to
14:09
how much this cost to even get half if you've got one of those ideas share it in the comments otherwise I don't think it's going to happen but I would love to
14:16
put that thing through its Paces even if it's just so we have a benchmark to compare all the others to I think that
14:22
would be important to do let me know if there's one thing I've noticed in German conventions it's that the convention
14:28
Halls do nothing to inform you where the nearest toilets are there's normally
14:33
just a room randomly off the side somewhere with a picture of toilet on
14:39
the side of it rather than actually having directions anywhere I noticed
14:44
this Essen as well when we did Essen Spiel look signs where on there does it say toilet one of you is probably seeing
14:51
it Terrace Restaurant officers meeting rooms offices Cafe Bar Via Mobile all directions Halls you'd think that big
14:56
green sign was toilet but no that's restaurant I don't want to know where to put food in I want to know where to let it out these guys have tons all for
15:06
different use cases so you've got some versatile ones tough and durable this is like rubber like that's actually got
15:13
some Flex to it high stiffness these are really stiff that's like plastic um and
15:18
none of these seem like overly supported in any way that's like glass I don't
15:23
know if that's how a finisher put on it elastometric like look at that imagine painting your
15:30
minis silicon 40a it La something else ESD resin specialty flame retardant
15:38
nylon pu rigid pu rigid four pu rigids that's so rigid they can't even get it
15:44
fully on the peg uh castable wax Dental clear surgical clear Dental custom tray
15:51
resin so this is the one Precision model is potentially the best for Miniatures it's the most accurate isn't it it's the
15:58
most accurate but it might the durability of it is potentially like it could be quite brittle if it's printing
16:05
small things I don't know I'd need to try it wouldn't I yeah yeah BNF Boston
16:11
micro fabrication and just to give you an idea as to how detailed some of these things are you've got to use these
16:18
microscopes to look at those no idea what the this is but it's like mixing
16:24
[ __ ] and and vibrating at the same time hello right hi uh
16:31
[Music] hello why is it in Germany they think
16:37
that it's good to make the bed when I went out this morning I left these on the bed this morning the right way why
16:42
in Germany do they come in and fold my sheets the wrong way every day let me
16:47
know down in the [Music] comments I've got to admit like being
16:53
here feels a little bit weird because I'm a guy who has a YouTube channel on the internet talking about devices to
16:59
print little plastic models whereas everybody else here it seems or at least the majority are doctors
17:08
scientists and generally just people smarter than me coming for like is that say free
17:15
beero thank you this place is great now that is a
17:22
manufacturing machine printer empty build
17:27
plates completed prints it's going to fetch that tray it's going to fetch the tray at the top left there with a red
17:34
completed print it'll go store that in the bottom and it will grab another fresh plate throw it on that
17:40
PR so I came across these guys this looked quite familiar as soon as I saw that resin I was like oh yeah that looks
17:46
pretty spot- on turns out it's by these guys pancolar and don't go thinking you can get this stuff cheap because they
17:53
don't sell direct uh it's not for retail and then I saw this which looks like
17:58
Aqua hyper fine and this looks like Aqua hyperfine as well anyway turns out it is hi
18:07
[Music] guys that's to me in person finally what
18:15
is this you're recording sort of I'm just doing a thing this is Derek from j3d Tech hello
18:23
thank you ever and he has to be in everything you you're in so much in my video man
18:29
now a company that should need no introduction we have the awesome
18:38
uniformation I think the thing I've noticed when going round the uniformation booth or at least that it's
18:44
a standout and it's different to every other booth here because where you have doctors and scientists and other people
18:51
at the uniformation booth you get loons like this oh special people who can't
18:56
use gimbals that's what you get I was pointed I was like why is that trying to make a
19:01
[Laughter] point I can easily just re-shoot that
19:08
bit this one's going to be quite a difficult one because Apex maker are here they've got two machines that I
19:15
haven't seen yet even though they've been promising to send me the printers for the last year they've got the X1
19:21
here it is an okay printer or at least should be an okay printer but mine
19:26
didn't work like so many other people's and this is the new one the ne cubic
19:32
Cobra S1 AC goes out to this adapter here they are going to allow to eight
19:38
colors they've already confirmed that um however when you look at it the design
19:44
is I would say fairly derivative of similar
19:49
machines so I just want to get inside looks like it's currently purging in a
19:55
very similar location like everything here looks very very similar to something I've seen before like even the
20:01
shape of the build platform but if I understand right this is 250X 250 by 250
20:08
people are catching up but I think the big question is going to be definitely
20:13
around the software and the reliability and here we go next color Purge
20:19
Tower I could probably talk more about any cubic but you'll have seen most of the reviews on the channel as I've said
20:25
the M7 Max my favorite printer of the Year mainly because it's got the fewest dumb problems with it but still there's
20:31
the mon 4 ultra excellent pressure sensing same with the mono M7 there's no
20:37
Daft heater in the back of that again to me that makes it a better product these are clearly any cubics flagships of the
20:46
range but yeah solid machines do the job get decent prints off them in various
20:51
scales here's something no one's ready for everyone's thinking about 3D these guys have got 4D and that wasn't even my
20:58
line that was your line yeah know yeah work man but I I said it before him so
21:03
yeah this thing it's jiggling stones or plastic what does it feel like it feels
21:09
amazing o does it I feel like it's clearly a finger massager show me how
21:15
shiny your fingers are how shiny [Music]
21:23
it ah sunlu we know them they are people who make resins and filaments and stuff
21:29
and they make it dead cheap so we all want it and here they've got a load of stuff Woo is that b it is he's from the
21:38
internet how you do mate you're all right honey badger 3D and need buom buom buom bomom powered by sunlow oh
21:47
[Music]
21:55
nice you complain about a lot just not printers the I don't complain about printers right no
22:01
it's a resin a resin is [ __ ] I'm not going to complain about the printer but I'll complain about chy all the things
22:06
around the resin the power cable the the power
22:12
cable just walk by rat rig they got my attention cuz they've got these massive
22:18
3D printers don't know what a rat rig is but yesterday someone gave me a rat rig hat so yeah cool so check this out you
22:26
might have seen this on YouTube this is the iron Man helmet oh no no you can't
22:32
no no no no recording what do you think that is do you think that's 28k this I don't even think it is that no it must
22:38
be 56k it's got to be 56k that'll be what it is look at the Contours they're
22:43
going like that way on the ring and not that way so you're saying there's so
22:49
there's Voxer lines and not layer lines I think it's there both I can't see
22:54
either you clean your glasses dude I
23:00
seems like everyone here has got a resin machine of some kind that none of us have heard of and I honestly don't
23:07
understand the majority of the differences between them oh I just saw a cool thing
23:13
spinning sorry got distracted by something that just looked pretty I'm getting that a lot here like there is
23:18
something that just catches your attention what is the future of 3D printing everything seems to be bigger
23:24
there's a lot of Technologies we already have in our home which is interesting even when it comes to these more industrial ones I'm really on the outset
23:32
anyway I'm really not seeing anything that stands out to me as oh my God
23:38
that's next level now the form Labs was impressive as I said I did like some of the things that they were doing there it
23:44
really isn't made for anything beyond the consumer space not really anyway
23:49
you've kind of got a lot of use cases in industrial printing or at least
23:55
production Printing and stuff like that but when it comes to the consumer space for printing it feels almost like we're
24:02
already there I mean we just need to refine what we've got we're not getting better quality that I'm seeing and even
24:08
the Industrial Level printers aren't higher resolution that you're not going to get VL lines without some level of
24:14
shaping it's just about reliability lack of weird lines and stuff like that I'm
24:19
trying to get to the prusser booth and it's interesting because the prusser booth is one of the busiest booths here
24:25
it's insane a lot of people out there are currently saying most prer users are like a cult well now that I've got a
24:31
mark 4S sorry guys I guess I'm part of that cult just the love and devotion
24:37
that's here it's got to be good to be part of something that's just this much of a community at the end of the day yes
24:43
there's the joke of how do you know if someone's a prer user they'll fcking tell you well here they won't just tell
24:50
you they're a prer user they'll be wearing the Hat the T-shirt the hoodie for anyone who isn't aware this is the
24:55
court one it was announced yesterday or by the time you're watching it probably a week or two ago and the thing that I
25:02
care about the most on this is that that's a mark 4S that right in front of us is a mark 4S that's been rebuilt into
25:11
a different machine so if you've watched my earlier video and you've seen yeah these are more of an investment yes okay
25:17
there's an expense to upgrade but the fact that you've taken a bed Slinger and converted it into what is probably going
25:23
to be one of the most powerful and reliable core XY machines hopefully you
25:28
at least understand some of that by now if you don't then fine it's not for you
25:34
and that's okay as well all of the awesome stuff that was part of the mark
25:39
4S is here again now with a core XY design in an enclosed chamber but with a
25:45
filament reel on the side some kind of I don't understand what this touch sensor thing for like people have mentioned
25:51
this so we've already gone from 3D printer to vacuum form plastic now we've got some weird touch sensor and really
25:58
want to know what that does is it just design I'm I'm sure by the time you watch this you'll be going oh it's for
26:04
this and well I don't know that now do I let's be honest right at the very least
26:10
it's cool okay literally doing 180° from cruser we've got frozen we know Frozen
26:17
they do good machines they've got the mega8 kv2 here which is basically a mega
26:22
8K with I think a higher resolution screen they're showing the multimaterial hello h where are you get in get
26:30
in hey the 100 power of so because
26:37
actually manufacturing related into the whole process thank you so this is the bit
26:43
where elu invited me to an evening event and in said evening event I have to
26:49
present things and do stuff like that as though I'm some kind of weird 3D printing celebrity I'm guessing in
26:55
Europe they had a very small amount of people to choose from but I'm one of
27:00
them by the way this is where they're housing it in this very industrial looking office this is the trading area
27:09
whatever that is corridors of walls where one side is concrete and then the
27:15
other side is this lovely weird textured sandy desert Motif and then we've got
27:20
concrete polished concrete columns has anyone ever played Mirror's Edge this is
27:26
literally like I'm I'm walking through corridors from mirid Edge so one of the bits I definitely wanted to talk to you
27:32
about and couldn't miss which is in the startup area is a machine that you'll have heard of before probably on vman's
27:38
channel again awesome Channel if you don't know it you need to check him out he's another reviewer again very
27:44
independent but this is the Athena 2 or Athena Pro I've wanted to get here all
27:51
week this is the sequel to The Athena now the Athena was a project that was run on Kickstarter or or some kind of
27:59
crowdfunding campaign last year and the long and short of it is this is potentially going to be one of the game
28:05
changers of the future but there's a few things this does that other printers don't that are going to make user
28:11
experience a lot easier going forward for those of you who've been watching the channel you might be aware I've been
28:16
alluding to somebody I've been talking to for months who's schooling me on 3D
28:22
printing and how it actually works but that person is a guy called Nico Martin
28:27
the guy behind the ideas of Concepts 3D and this is the next Generation so not
28:33
only do we have a heated chamber and a heated vat this bit here is for a large carbon block where you can put whatever
28:40
carbon in you want in this little tray which is removable and that goes into this part of the printer you've then got
28:46
your time-lapse camera with a sensible built-in light and the time-lapses are actually recording vertically so
28:54
normally you'll get a wide screen and it'll record this way but on this one the time lapses are actually recording
29:00
in 9x6 not 16x9 you've also got a progress bar here which tells you the
29:06
progress of the print something that I like to see from a distance so I can see roughly how long I've got left on my
29:12
print or at least the progress you've got this light up bar here which is also a status bar telling you the status of
29:18
the printer which it can determine from the pressure sensitivity in the plate and these guys really are pushing
29:25
pressure sensitivity to the next level and that's the sort of thing that's going to be you know really big in the
29:31
future of 3D printing and unlike some of the other things we've seen this isn't the future of 3D printing years away
29:38
this is looking at 2025 and we're going to be able to get our hands on it but the best feature is something that I was
29:45
speaking to Nico about and they've actually implemented into it so you know how machines now you get like your RF
29:51
tests and your multi-exposure tests well this one takes it to the next level because one it's not janky they've built
29:58
in the exposure tests specifically the ones from Derek from j3d a channel that
30:04
if you don't know you need to check it out and what this does is not only does it have the built-in exposure tests but
30:11
by working with Derek directly the UI will actually let you set the exposure
30:16
time and the exposure increment and things like that on here once you've run this test it will actually then show you
30:23
how to read the test on the UI how to choose which one is the best result of
30:29
all the six exposures you've done and then you tell the printer what the best exposure times were and then in those
30:36
exposure times it then creates the resin profile for the material and you set
30:42
that on the printer itself so you get your bottle you put a bottle in you tell the printer what the bottle is they will
30:48
be doing profiles built into the printer based on a lot of user experience and
30:53
essentially the community from a lot of people who feed back to it you'll be able to get your own resin dial it in
30:59
using the UI specifically following the steps you'll be told how to read it and
31:05
tell which one the best exposure time is you feed that back into the printer for
31:10
your resin and that can feed back to Concepts 3D in order to tell them what people are having success with and
31:16
they'll be able to gather the success data based on the pressure sensitivity of when or where or if things fail
31:24
during a print on a plate and all of it again is temperature control but two things that really stand out to me more
31:31
than anything are its look like one thing I absolutely love is this gold
31:37
anodization or however they've colored it on the actual metal Parts but I also
31:43
really love this power button I I love a click clack does anybody else love a click clack I'm literally just walking
31:49
from the concepts 3D booth and I've got to be honest that one's got me thinking more than anything now as many of you
31:54
know I've been quite a fan of the where am I going I've been quite fan of the hay gears printers because what I like
32:01
about them is the fact that they are no nonsense and easy to use you don't have to worry about the resin settings you
32:06
just plug it in and go but I understand that people have been quite upset with those machines mainly due to the fact
32:12
that well they're locked down and you've got to use your own proprietary resin now at the moment that's the only choice for us if you want easy then you've
32:19
pretty much only got that Ro but with Concepts 3D and what they're trying to do like L have tried this for a while as
32:26
well in their profiles but it's based on reasoning of people's opinion and the
32:32
majority of us and I put myself in this category aren't so educated as to what
32:38
the best settings are for a resin printer concept 3D because they're keeping the resin profile the the
32:45
exposure profile on the actual printer itself and you don't need to put it in the slicer what it means is if you turn
32:52
up with a material let's say material X and you've never used it before
32:57
hopefully there will already be slicer settings on the printer for that material and you just select the
33:03
material and go and this is for any material in the world but if it's not there you can put that in and say I've
33:10
got this material and it'll probably be like brand model and and then maybe yeah because I know batches change what it
33:16
means is that you can put a profile onto that machine by saying oh it doesn't
33:23
exist already run me through the tests you then get know how to read the
33:29
results and determine which ones are best the printer then creates a profile
33:34
for you and then that data goes back to the concepts 3D database and in the
33:41
concepts 3D database they can then use that to inform the next person and then they'll be able to continually improve
33:46
the system because based on the amount of users who use that same material and the pressure sensing detecting success
33:53
of a print and I don't know I bet you get feedback at the end to say yes this printed well or or no it didn't but
33:59
using that data they can actually get a true and more valid set of global
34:04
results than anybody ever and then people are going to flock to that machine because it's the best of both
34:11
worlds it's it's open for everyone but you shouldn't have to manage any of the settings yourself and when I look at my
34:17
haar's video I was like right if anybody out there can give me a better way of
34:23
making 3D printing more Universal then I'll probably probably be more
34:29
acknowledging to the arguments against proprietary resin I'm not saying I'm for proprietary resin as I've never said
34:35
what I'm saying is it's a choice and I don't know a better way to control all the individual required values of 3D
34:41
printing for the masses when you open it up to all the materials in the world and
34:48
nobody in any of my comments could give me an answerers to a better way of doing it but I think Concepts 3D just gave us
34:55
a better answer and a better way of doing it so this is something that really got my interest because this is
35:02
kind of the thing that people want in the future of 3D printing this is an all-in-one Printing and curing system so
35:10
you tell it what to print from here it prints and then you get a cleaned and cured print out of this door so quite
35:17
literally the way it works is there's your resin tray essentially that's your 3D printer here and that will be full of
35:24
resin and that will cure as the bill plate lifts up build plate is here on the back of this arm which turns around
35:31
um I think 180° so it turns 90° and does the printing so what will happen is your
35:36
vat will go into the plate and then it'll do the print and then this whole
35:41
tray will move out of the way and then it will raise up and lower down again
35:47
because beneath this is an isopropanol vat and you dip it into there which has
35:52
got a dual impeller for cleaning it then lifts up again the lights come on the UV
35:57
lights for curing it'll cure any residual resin in the isopropanol V and
36:03
then once it's cured it will turn around this way lower down and you literally this door automatically opens and you
36:10
slide out the print on a plate and it comes out like this so that's your plate
36:16
there and it'll actually just slide out and you take that away and then the best thing is you'll be able to go in here
36:23
this is the door on the side and you just load up new build plates so you can put 50 build plates in here and then
36:30
it'll just keep going next one next one next one in here is where your resin goes you can have different sizes of
36:37
bottle obviously there's just one in there now but it it feeds it through and then I believe this door here so if you
36:43
look in there you can see the mechanism for how the whole vat and the tray below it slide out which is really cool that
36:51
is essentially a production facility that takes you from liquid goo that you don't need to touch other than pouring
36:57
out the well you don't even need to pour it out the bottle it comes out of there so you literally feed it from the bottle
37:02
to there and then a cleaned print a cleaned and touchable print comes out
37:08
here that you can put hands on now yeah it's going to be harder supports and things like that but it's still a good
37:14
thing and the other thing is they've built this whole base unit which they haven't brought with us but used at
37:19
their facility and in here is a huge carbon block and silica filter so what
37:26
you can do is you can filter all the air and the isopropanol emissions in an
37:32
enclosed system so they use it in their Factory no smell nothing like that you
37:38
just put it in tell it what you want to print and boom there you go like who wouldn't want one of these it's
37:44
absolutely crazy I think it's a few years off for the consumer Market because this model here is currently on
37:51
sale for €30,000 I'm hoping I can talk them into sending me one so I can do a review
37:58
but I don't think that's likely if you want to see more on this machine make sure you check out microfactory and if
38:03
they ask you how you found out about them please tell them it was me because if I get enough people saying that I
38:08
referred them they might actually send me one of these or at least invite me over to their place so I can play with
38:13
it a bit more but I think the applications for this are incredible this was a machine that really impressed
38:20
me the mag forms helius P600 because this is basically it's like a reverse 3D
38:26
printer so that bed at the bottom that's raising up there now is actually your build platform and it lowers down and
38:33
your light source is up there in that hole in the middle of the printer that you can hardly see due to the reflection
38:41
so this is an SLA technology and the laser will actually Shine Down onto that
38:47
platform to create a layer and then lower down slowly but for those of you with big printers at the moment the vat
38:55
at the bottom is 3 100 L 350 L that's not even the biggest
39:03
machine we also have the Halos p800 with a build volume of 800 to 800 to 550 and
39:11
there we have about 610 kilos of material in it now you're just showing
39:16
off so this was printed on that machine right in front of the second
39:23
italio thank you I think ever felt also as you probably know I'm not used to
39:30
this Vlog style of video so if things are coming across a little bit different it's because well I'm walking through a
39:36
crowd of people talking to myself with a camera pointed at my face and I'm conscious that I look like a [ __ ]
39:42
we've got the uniformation booth but I'm doing a separate video with those guys so please like comment subscribe and hit
39:48
the notification Bell so you don't miss that one but we've had a really really good chat about the new releases the gk3
39:55
ultra the gk3 and the GK K3 Pro and how they feel that launch is gone and
40:01
reflecting on the community's response to that and then giving their responses in kind so elu are here showing off
40:08
their current printers but there's a couple that I want to really show off the centu carbon here and this is elgu's
40:15
answer to core XY printing it's a very impressive sounding machine but
40:21
obviously we need to see what the software and what the usability is like in person so this is one that I'm
40:28
certainly looking forward to testing but it generally seems to have a good
40:34
majority of the features that everybody is finding quite positive although I
40:40
really would prefer to see these run out sensors being in the hot end oh just to be a bit different we've moved the purge
40:45
bin to the other side of the machine from what other Branch use but there is one more I want to show you so many of
40:51
you probably know this many of you probably own this this is the satin 4 ultra many of you probably don't know
40:57
about the new or upcoming satin 4 ultra 16k which is a mouthful but it works so
41:03
they've moved to a 16k display which yes is smaller than the previous printer
41:09
it's I believe it's 9.6 in they're using the same screen as what other brands are
41:14
using in 10-in 6K printers same Micron size as what they're using in other machines but this also now has a couple
41:21
of features which really do impress me you've got a light in there for for the
41:27
webcam which is going to be really useful because it'll actually light up what that you can see from that webcam
41:33
we also now have a heated vat which I can't show you visually because the heating element is inside that vat now
41:40
what they've told us is currently this Heats to a fixed 25° C which like the
41:47
chamber heater is a little bit lower than I would have liked but at least it's got a heater in it which makes it
41:53
far more competitive for people who are printing in colder environments or
41:59
putting these in garages and sheds and the like but my favorite bit which I can't quite see or show is that they put
42:05
handles on the top of the build plate it is a little bit of a makeshift solution
42:11
but at least there are handles now so you're less likely to drop this build plate when you take it out of the
42:16
printer the bit that I don't like is unfortunately the build plate itself is
42:22
still this weird springy thing let me see if I can spring it it's this weird
42:27
springy thing and it's still nonadjustable and we really could do
42:32
with it being adjustable so that we can get it perfectly flat to the screen when
42:38
it doesn't come already perfectly flat but perhaps elu would rather solve that
42:43
problem by improving the design than giving us any kind of things to do ourselves in order to do the leveling so
42:51
some companies are allowing you to do the leveling yourselves in Printers after giving up on auto leveling perhaps
42:57
elu just want to ensure that they fix the auto leveling or the quality of the
43:04
standard leveling in the printers that you get by [Music]
43:24
default I'm actually shaking hands with a robot oh I didn't know about this one Cobra 3 Max which is basically a cobra 3
43:32
but bigger and this might be a good opportunity for me to actually do a video testing the upgrades to the
43:38
platform since the release of the Cobra 3 so I'll reach out to any cubic and see
43:43
if that's one they want me to cover specifically and it'll give me a chance to tell you what they've managed to get
43:49
on with since this was released and see if the assumptions are correct and any cubic are finally making a difference
43:56
when it comes to their products and how they support them with long-term updates
44:01
so yeah I think you'll all know we don't need to cover any cubic too much I cover them in my other videos but this is the
44:07
M7 Max and as I've said it is genuinely my favorite printer of the Year
44:13
specifically because it does the less stupid stuff so right here they're advertising a 14.1 in 16k almost Square
44:22
LCD forgive me how are we getting 16k
44:27
from that that's 12 right is there some crazy math in this that's doing it from
44:35
everyone yay got to be honest this is terrifying right so I've just done a
44:40
talk at the igrew booth in front of a lot of people who have gone now cuz well
44:46
they came here to obviously watch me they and then as soon as I was done they were like well if I'm not getting more F Hammer content I'm going it was because
44:52
of a giveaway anyway but it was one of the scariest things I've done in my life there is a reason as I've said I talk to
44:58
a microphone in an office I don't do public speaking and like I told both my wife and girlfriend before our first
45:05
romantic encounter you probably won't enjoy this but at least we'll have a laugh you've got a product here which
45:11
you can see literally adheres various materials to the build plate but then the problem you've got at home when
45:17
you're using prit stick and glue is getting it off the build plate so you've got this remover as well because it's a
45:24
solvent based product obviously it only works with certain types of build plates metal ones the plastic ones it'll
45:29
actually react with but still for those of you out there who are wanting a material to ensure success by getting
45:37
that first layer down incredibly thin and perfect and then not having to worry
45:43
about something snapping off halfway through a print these sort of products are absolutely incredible this is
45:49
genuinely the quietest have seen the prusser booth in 4 days and it is still
45:55
it's weird prusser get a bad rep from a lot of people for the almost cult-like evangelic following that they actually
46:03
have as a brand but when it comes to these arguments like iPhone versus Android I will quite happily put myself
46:10
in the camp of I don't give a [ __ ] so when it comes to the prer versus bamboo
46:16
and all that bollocks look at all these people enjoying their hobby that must be
46:21
good mustn't it actually enjoying something let's be honest guys yes if somebody is a prer owner they'll tell
46:28
you about it in fact they don't even need to tell you about it they'll be wearing the T-shirt the hat and probably
46:33
the bag but so what they're [ __ ] enjoying themselves whether you're a fan
46:38
of prusa fan of bamboo or for some reason a fan of creality eligo or any cubic when it comes to fdm printing we
46:45
all like 3D printers this sh is cool someone or probably prer but somebody's
46:51
already modded a core one to have this wooden frame and I've got to be honest
46:57
that is something I would want in my house and I could actually probably get away with for once like that that's an
47:03
appliance that's now Furniture I don't know who's designed this or come up with the idea but if prer could genuinely
47:11
like Market this somehow and actually sell this as a kit or maybe somebody
47:16
already does uh and maybe they they're just ready to launch it but if they could actually capitalize on this I'd be
47:22
able to actually get away with having a 3D printer in the house for once without my wife having a go at me and that is a
47:29
reason to buy a 3D printer the thing is with the core one like people have obviously been talking about it while
47:34
they're here and I've spoken to various other people and what the reactions are and what the responses are some people
47:39
have said it's too little too late other people have said oh my God this is amazing from prer and we've had
47:44
everything in between now I kind of get the almost too little too late comment you know it's it's very similar to what
47:52
we've had from other brands years ago but at the same time it is a step forward into that that corexy system
47:58
from a brand that has done a lot of support So as I've said or as other
48:03
people have said to me and I've reiterated one of the valuable things with bamboo is that you buy the I3 frame
48:11
and then you can upgrade it you can upgrade it you can upgrade it now I already I genuinely want to upgrade my
48:17
mark 4S to this I'll have a word with my contacts at prer and see if I can get
48:22
one for free because well then I don't have to pay for it but genu ly even if I
48:28
can't I'm probably going to buy this because I think I would like the experience of doing the upgrade process
48:36
which is not something I thought I'd ever say is this how they get us am I prer indoctrinated
48:48
now now I don't want to say I'm Blown Away with the core one because I'm not it's not like oh my god wow it's amazing
48:55
and I don't know but I was impressed with the print quality of the mark 4S and this uses a lot of the key
49:00
components in that quality and that success like the hot end itself which I don't fully understand i' never
49:07
professed to but I can see improved print quality now in this Frame it is
49:12
interesting but I think as a more simple user what I'm more interested in is
49:18
whether or not prer will release things like a camera add-on which obviously you could add in the markv and the XL but
49:25
it's more of a makeshift DIY approach with Gran's having a time-lapse camera out of the box I would like to see
49:32
whether or not prer do give us an official integration kit because at the
49:38
end of the day I'm sure many a diard prusser fan would want prusa's version
49:44
of such a feature Hey Joe just talking about the camera I might have made a dumb comment because they might have
49:50
actually put a camera in it and I actually want to go and ask somebody whether or not this is a feature in the
49:56
core one cuz I haven't got time to check my phone I just want to quickly ask someone at the booth and I have no idea
50:01
who here works for prer and who here is a prer fan I'm going to find someone
50:07
else and ask them to see if they know oh look I found someone who might know what they're talking about do you know if the
50:12
core one's got a camera in it I do know no it doesn't thanks Sam that's okay you might
50:19
know these guys as e3d they do upgraded nuzzles for popular printers and they partnered with diamondb nozzles to give
50:27
great nozzles with Incredible flow rate I'm going to have to try these out at some point but considering I'm going to
50:32
Smurf and they're there we'll leave that till a future [Music]
50:37
video right I do just want to talk about these guys you can't see who they are because the lighting is absolutely
50:43
bleaching out the name of the company but this is Revo point they do 3D scanners now I want you to know that I
50:49
do actually have both the pop two and the pop 3 3D scanner and I have tried it
50:54
and the intention was to make a video but the problem is as I've found they
50:59
they're imperfect so they're good at scanning they will scan detail they won't scan tiny things in detail like
51:05
Miniatures easily the biggest problem I've had with it is that I'm not a 3D
51:10
modeler and the imperfect result you get from the scan the majority of the time
51:15
does require a bit of tinkering which means some level of 3D modeling skill which I don't have but it's definitely a
51:22
technology worth keeping an eye on very much like fdm Printing and probably only going to skirt the topic until they make
51:29
it more accessible and easier and generally a bit more idiot proof because
51:34
if you didn't know already when it comes to a lot of these Technologies I'm an idiot I know resin printing pretty well
51:40
but I have actually spoken to another Creator today about fdm printing and there might be a collaboration coming
51:46
soon where I act as the unknowing person or the beginner because I still am in
51:52
fdm printing and if we can pull that off it basically means that I like other beginners can go and get schooled in a
51:58
sensible order by someone who's more of an expert and I think that's important to do because many of the experts out
52:05
there know so much that they've forgotten what it is the beginners like
52:10
me want to know so keep your eyes peel for that might not even be on my channel yeah if we can make it happen I think
52:16
that's going to be valuable to a lot of people what do you think let me know down in the comments right then reality
52:21
I think you've seen me do a lot of videos for these guys and I think most people would assume that I am so
52:26
creality hater I'm not a creality hater if you pay attention to my videos I've said the machines are absolutely fine
52:34
they do the job for the price they charge and the price they charge isn't that much when compared to their
52:39
competitors if you're happy with a little jankiness while saving a ton of money these generally work but at the
52:47
same time there's a bit of a quality thing in there and the company do promote them in kind of a messy way I am
52:54
actually getting the K2 Max which has been delivered to my house this week and I will be getting on with that review
53:00
but until then here's my first look at one and this is definitely an answer to
53:07
competing printers and it does something that currently no other corxy does
53:12
that's got a color changer not separate heads it's got a much larger build plate which I think is 350 cubed there's a
53:20
sign next to me that tells me so it's a 350 cubed build plate so all we really
53:26
need to worry about is what the software is which already we've seen creality
53:31
have pretty much just started using Orca although they've pretty much just ditched Cura or their version of cura
53:37
and started using their own version of orca but I would very very much like to see them not change so much about orca
53:44
because a few of the things they've done actually make it harder to use so depending how the software is and how
53:50
the reliability is this could be an incredibly dominant machine at the very
53:55
least until their competitors catch up to a printer with this volume that is cool as [ __ ] and I very much want to
54:02
print one so if anyone knows who the Creator is of this absolute Behemoth of a print please let me know in the
54:09
comments so I can download one myself and crack on with building it holy crap that's an actual 3D printed gunpla in
54:16
fdm that is super cool I've actually got a video coming out soon on the painting phase regarding gunpla because we need
54:22
some content and we're talking about the rx78 model so obviously we know hay gears and
54:28
they've got the reflex out here on display and as we've said a few times they are a printer in the consumer space
54:35
but they are generally aimed at applications Beyond just that of miniature printing now I'm in love with
54:42
the tech as I've said numerous times and for me I can get this working very easily with Miniatures and I get a lot
54:49
of benefits from it but they've also got other machines coming out in the consumer space and there are some
54:56
inovations they've got here which they've shown me which are well incredible so these are something that
55:02
really Peak my interest because they're full color 3D prints and when I say full color yes there is some slight washed
55:09
out element to them but these are prototypes but the idea is I was saying
55:14
the consumer space but I've just been corrected desktop it's the desktop space so instead of these being large format
55:21
printers like you've seen on my previous color printing videos these are going to be desktop printers and hay gears are
55:28
working on some incredible Technologies to bring that to the market too this is a nice little feature that they're
55:33
adding to their Dental line so these two brackets here push down on those Springs so with one button the plate moves up
55:41
and it pops and it pops the print off the plate
55:46
so yeah and that's an advancement that nobody else has thought of and I know people have got things against
55:52
proprietary resin and that as I've said that's totally your choice guys if you don't like this and you're not for it
55:57
don't buy these printers but when we talk about the technology and what this can do for us in case of benefits is we
56:04
want to make 3D printing more accessible and so far in the software World these are the only guys who are actually
56:11
making any kind of attempt to give us software which is more easy to use and
56:17
more accessible is it perfect no it's not perfect as you'll come to see very
56:23
soon those people who have had problems with the light of pre-support models will realize that the benefit of this
56:30
platform is that because we've fed back two hay gears and told them hey these don't work and we want to ensure that
56:36
they do work hay gears have actually built into the algorithm a method of detecting pre- supported models and then
56:43
changing the print parameters for us dynamically in order to make sure we are
56:49
getting successful prints in the presup space so yeah it might not be as quick
56:54
for one person to diagnose and solve on their own but working together within
56:59
this platform as a community we can resolve problems for the rest of the
57:05
community and that does have value to a lot of people so is it something that you want to be a part of and want to
57:12
support again totally your call but if you do support it chances are that the more people who use it the better the
57:19
platform will become for everyone so obviously we can't go anywhere without talking about bamboo because they are
57:25
the hot right now and unfortunately they've got nothing new to show I really
57:31
really and I think many of us really really want to see what they're doing next now their Booth is incredible and
57:36
has become kind of a hub for a lot of content creators I don't seem to be in that click quite yet but you know I'm
57:42
trying to Edge my way in but yeah the things that we want to see from them these guys behind me are twofold one a
57:48
bigger printer because the other brands are coming out with that they've realized the Gap in the market and they are coming out with them sooner than
57:54
bamboo and that's what we want from you you seriously give us any of your k1s or p1s just make them bigger but we know
58:00
you're going to be doing something extra special because you've got to Trump whatever the competition come out with
58:05
so fingers crossed we do see that the other thing I'd like to see though is a resin
58:11
printer at that 3D printed
58:18
cup if anyone wants to know what it's like when a show shuts down it is literally rip up the carpets which have
58:25
been put down just for for the show but it's a case of rip up the carpets strip down all the booths get Fork trucks in
58:32
here people start smoking and throwing cigarettes everywhere it's mental I've done a few of these now and I'm never
58:38
Amazed by the fact that it takes 2 or 3 days to set up that it takes about 4 hours to strip down so this has been a
58:45
bit of a weird one compared to normal because I've never really done this Vlog style stuff I normally have a bit of a
58:51
plan and even when I've gone on location with videos like going to my mini Factory or going to visit Titan Forge I
58:58
generally go and shoot a load of [ __ ] and then come back and do a voice over afterwards so hopefully I've managed to
59:05
Cobble together a bit of a video but if you think I came here with the intention of talking about the future of 3D
59:12
printing and doing that I'll be honest I didn't I literally cobbled that together
59:17
after walking around day one so I hope it's come across at least naturally but
59:22
I suppose at the very least we need an outro in regard to the future of 3D printing and today well I've looked at a
59:29
variety of printers I've looked at things in the near future I've looked at things in the further future maybe a
59:36
good year or so away and I've imagined and extrapolated on a few things that could come to the consumer space in a
59:43
number of years or maybe never because of patents and other things like that
59:49
but I suppose the thing I hope I see in the future of 3D printing when I walk around places like this and and I see
59:56
competitors visiting each other's booths talking to each other and smiling at each other and laughing with each other
1:00:03
it really doesn't matter what printer you like these things are just printers at the end of the day it's about choice
1:00:11
you could be a prusser cultist you could be a bamboo cultist you could like haars
1:00:16
you could hate them it's about choice and nothing else and this sort of event
1:00:22
completely proves that everything I've been saying in my videos like stop hating on people stop hating on printers
1:00:28
just because they like something different to you of all the Technologies we've seen I genuinely hope that the
1:00:34
future of 3D printing is one that wherever you are whatever you like
1:00:40
whatever you want to support and whatever you want to be a fan for that's totally fine and I hope the future of 3D
1:00:47
printing is one where we can all just shut up and accept that no matter what
1:00:52
brand or what printer it is that we love we can all agree that we all love 3D printing I think that's a good way to do
1:00:59
an outro isn't it like that's that's got some emotion and depth thanks for watching with a huge thanks going to our
1:01:04
members who are on screen now but until next time Stay classy San Diego fa hammer out
