0:00
hi I'm peachy and I'm Patrick and this is the only painting show where we leave
0:06
it up to you the audience to decide if we're wearing any trousers
0:12
[Music] so Pat normally at least so far people have been asking me questions I'm here
0:18
to ask you some questions I know you'll be fine I'll ask you all sorts of mean and harsh questions of
0:24
what I'm doing no painting phase your idea you're the you're the genius behind this show I would say yeah I'm like I'm
0:33
like The Wizard of Oz yeah you are a wizard he is a wizard I assure
0:38
you is a wizard so when will come from where the idea I mean obviously we work together in the workshop maybe we should
0:43
start their first our time maybe we should we should start at the beginning I'll Prelude
0:50
let's before like we're in the original trilogy at the minute yeah but we need to talk about the prequel theology yeah
0:56
of course yeah yeah which was my sort of short stint relatively short stint at GW
1:01
it's a good origin story I think yeah so yeah well it all starts is as most good
1:06
stories do with a global pandemic um and I don't want to make light of anyone
1:13
that suffered through that but um there's a lot of changes in circumstances yeah so I had a wedding
1:19
videography business I still have that now um and all my work just dried up people
1:26
postponed sort of a year two years some people postponed three years that kind of thing so I went from usually like the
1:34
year previous 2019 I think I shot about 45 weddings and then in 2020 and in one
1:40
wow so so that was like your business gone yeah um and because I was quite new
1:50
um like that I've got some government assistance but with my previous years of books and all that kind of thing they
1:56
were like here's enough money to support you over three months is 800 pounds and
2:01
it was nice to get the assistance um I know a lot of people in the industry didn't with because they were limited companies and blah blah blah but
2:08
um so I was like I'm gonna get a job um so I started working at Sainsbury's for a while
2:14
um there's other one around knots yeah he's the one cluster yeah yeah so you walk down the canal and all that sort of
2:20
stuff I could smell the plastic there is a smell
2:25
and it's not plastic um though uh yes so I I worked at sainsbury
2:32
for a while doing like picking online shopping yeah um because I didn't want to sit around like I always feel like I have to to
2:38
work like if I don't do anything I start asking myself all this stupid philosophical questions where I'm like
2:44
who am I my work defines me um and I think like like my parents are
2:50
both like like my dad especially he's sort of like work Patrick Do It
2:55
um and that sort of stuff so I think I've kind of like picked up a bit on that yeah I struggle to sort of sit down
3:01
and relax but anyway yeah uh yeah work there pick an online shopping three o'clock in the morning I'll get up and
3:06
do my little shift push my trolley around um like like you have it's quite I know
3:13
this is a Warhammer podcast online shopping work I can't wait I was actually going to ask
3:19
what's that like to be fair I tell you what um you know like if any if people will
3:25
order online shopping and they'll be like oh they didn't have this so they sent you this and you go
3:30
why why why just don't send me anything yeah
3:36
um and and it's it's our our boss that we had there's very stunning late like if and you have an iph which is items
3:43
per hour um and if you meet that fine you'll get left alone you could
3:48
stick one headphone in and you could walk around I'd listen to tunes and podcasts and all that sort of stuff
3:55
um and this old lady was crutches and and they're like you need to speed up Janet and it's like she's literally fall
4:01
into bits um bless them bless them but it was quite it was quite quite fun but also you know
4:08
but anyway yeah you get you would get told off if you didn't send a sub so it
4:14
would be start of the pandemic when I got that job
4:20
um it'd be like eggs gone because everyone was like Hey I know what I'm gonna do I'm gonna do cone baking no
4:25
flour no eggs and it's like and when we get we get told off if you
4:31
didn't send a substitute because it would come up on the paperwork and it would be like Patrick didn't send a
4:37
substitute for for this and it would be like why didn't we send us up and it's like well what can I what can I send
4:45
instead of eggs yeah like and that kind of thing I mean also are you a baker no so would you know what the substitute
4:51
for is if you're baking a cake yeah I wouldn't even know what margarine please so then but then you'd end up like
4:58
because you had a Target to reach sometimes it was quite was quite difficult because if you did freezer Sharps that was quite slow and all that
5:04
blah blah blah so I remember once someone was like I want some some like uh some skewers like they were like metal
5:11
skewers to make um like kebabs with yeah and I was like damn there aren't any there aren't any wooden
5:18
ones what's also metal and sharp uh potato peeler
5:25
the thing is though folks are paying for them they don't want it they're so stupid I remember being in the battle
5:30
report studio uh with Pat and he looks at his phone and he was just like he was
5:36
like I asked for ice cubes you'll never guess what they've sent me and I was like you shop at Sainsbury's don't you
5:42
and I and I was going around the shop in my head and I was like peas and he went oh my God
5:48
how did you know that and I was like well the ice cubes are in this bit next to
5:54
that is the ice lollies and it's a heat wave and they've all gone yeah so the next option which is quickest people to
6:00
get to is peas but anyway after I had enough of that um yeah I uh one of one of my mates said oh
6:07
you should apply for this um and it was a videography job at Games Workshop
6:13
um I applied I made an application video of like me presenting and I put loads of
6:18
stupid visual effects on it and all that kind of thing which is quite I heard about this I heard it was good I heard you should have applied for the
6:24
presenter role someone did say that they were like you shouldn't applied for a presenter on I didn't really know a great deal by Warhammer at the time to
6:29
be I'm like I I as many people do is like pretty open Primary School
6:35
um and I had like a couple of like the metal out of metal like calgar I think he's like a one yeah all that sort of
6:41
stuff and I had um like the librarian as well and and a few other little bits and pieces but
6:47
that was kind of like my introduction to it and then those models are lost to the sands of time unfortunately I did rebuy
6:53
them on eBay like the metal sculpts yeah a couple of point I would like to paint them and like recreate my yeah first
6:58
steps in the hobby but that would make a good like a little sort of chat shows like sitting there just painting like oh
7:04
our first animal that we've probably got to handle because I think mine was like a rocker an orc rocker yeah um because
7:09
my mate's got it from me for my birthday so uh so yeah we should do that yeah what Jess would be I can be something like pre-led say like a stone carving
7:17
because he's old isn't he laughs
7:22
it's just carved on the side of a cave he's right there
7:30
brutal I got my first military free with my copy of the Magna Carta
7:36
oh cool that's not that long ago actually I thought yes if that was longer than that
7:42
Jeff but yeah if I could if I can find my applications before that's me first so it's a while back yeah if I can find
7:50
my application video I'll I'll stick a link in oh please yeah yeah we'll have to see it so people can watch it because
7:56
it worked I got the job yeah uh which was quite cool um and then yeah I was a videographer
8:03
for Warhammer plus yeah battle report yeah so I I remember when you were there because you and a guy called Joe who I
8:10
worked with Joe was my videographer for the painting YouTube stuff um yeah Joe's great and kids as well so
8:16
we used to have a like comment where we used to talk about it you're in the corner of it didn't we all I was gonna try and not
8:24
swear because I know I have to censor it I'm a good boy I don't swear no no last
8:30
structure you injected no swearing oh really yeah good job Jeff I need to work on those numbers so yeah
8:37
yeah me and Joe started on the same day yeah yeah um which was cool so you specialize in something called multicam editing is
8:43
that right and the people talking about this like there's some kind of Wizardry that you'd thrown in there like I didn't in my interview
8:49
um like like being a a wedding videographer I think sets you up pretty well for doing loads of different stuff
8:57
because I think like I don't consider myself an expert in any field at all same
9:02
um like what I can do lots of stuff these are kind of like Jack of all trades yeah yeah
9:08
um and and with videography um it's it's kind of like that really like Studio experience so I was lacking
9:14
I hadn't really done a great deal of that but you turn it to a wedding and someone's like right uh someone's asked
9:20
me to get a shot of these rings and these shoes so you have to be a good product like videographer
9:26
um and then it's kind of like your documentary skills as well yeah yeah and then it's like right architecture how
9:31
does that work right and you have to be regardless of what you're doing where you're doing it you have to turn up you
9:37
have to do a good job um and it's the same with the editing as well um so the multicam stuff like your big
9:44
your ceremonies and your speeches from your weddings I'd sort of I say I developed a system
9:49
I'd learned how to multi-cam edit um and so handling lots of footage and
9:56
just chugging through it was something that I was used to yeah and I guess that helped when people were doing the back
10:01
reports because you had like yeah yeah so the battle reports you've got at
10:07
least oh three four like five cameras going at the same time yeah yeah quite a
10:12
lot of them um which puts a lot of strain on the computers um we have these like eye backs I remember it's like right okay so
10:19
and you're just editing on a potato initially um and and it was like right I've put
10:26
one battle report on the hard drive of my computer we've already shot another one I don't have the space for it yeah
10:31
and it'd be like can I get a hard drive and it was like um we'll put an order in and big
10:37
businesses like spending money it all happens quite slowly yeah yeah um and I
10:42
remember being told right there's some Ray drives on the floor there just pick one of them off if it works it's yours
10:48
I think there's a there's a sort of like um I guess
10:54
a thing with like Workshop when it comes to like not purchasing or buying things in there's this whole negative
11:01
connotation from back in the day when we used the the pre-lord of the Rings I heard rumors about this yeah so we we
11:06
did really well all things like you know the numbers flew up and worship went a bit mad we got loads of cool stuff out
11:12
and like yeah new tech new lights all I mean the whole building we were in oh yeah the whole building was built from from the back end of um like the Lord of
11:19
the Rings success but then after that it was maintaining that massive Peak and we
11:24
didn't and we had loser staff yeah and not enough money coming in lots of redundant Seasons yeah so I think a lot
11:30
of like the people being a bit sort of cautious about chucking money here there left and right yeah because of that that
11:36
a lot of them still like remember that yeah you know I don't know took too much here because I said in the last
11:42
interview like I wanted to get like this highlight system in the photography studio yeah it was like 10 grand it was just like no one wants to pay for it but
11:48
it would have like made it more worthwhile but you know that's just Finance people being very amazing they
11:54
just cautious yes I think all the purchases had to go through like one yes yeah yeah that's right yeah yeah which
12:00
understandable it made sure like you know you've got eyes on everything and stuff yes and one of the things I always
12:05
thought interesting was like when someone started new yeah in workshop and then I'll be interested to to hear your
12:11
thoughts and feelings of it not like a negative kind of like way so uh again I alluded to this like the Lego thing like
12:18
I want to work for Lego yes and then after like a month or two become disenchanted and it's like the the
12:24
honeymoon period goes how long was it for you before the honeymoon period two weeks two weeks it was like months for
12:31
me because when I joined the studio it was great but two weeks wow that's crushing
12:42
um like and and I don't know if if I can say why
12:48
and I don't and I don't want to say yeah yeah I guess I can allude to the facts
12:55
that stuff happened I know exactly what the story is and I
13:01
was present and I had to talk about it yeah and it was like okay when people make
13:08
mistakes and everyone's involved that's yeah yeah that happened like super early on yeah yeah it was like
13:14
oh yeah yeah yeah that's a show so yeah I'm but I mean I'm I'm like super
13:21
appreciative of my time there yeah like I met so many cool people including you
13:26
yeah I mean um and it changed my life like here here we are yeah talking on our own YouTube channel that's I think
13:31
the interesting thing is like you I I've worked with people for decades and that I get on with them at work but I'm
13:37
going for a beer with them yeah I mean we've not been out for a beer just saying
13:43
but it's it's that kind of weird like sometimes just some relationships just like clicks like mean sucks you know got
13:48
on like a house on fire yeah as soon as she started you know I'd love to to spend more time just working yeah and
13:54
doing more fun things like when we like would do like videos together like the Imperium videos and stuff yeah um like
14:00
same video just like chatting and lunch times and just like looking for any excuse because we're looking at doing tick tocks back in the day as well yeah
14:06
we're trying to never quite made this yeah I'm a thing putting a proposal together to do
14:12
um to do tick tocks it was so in in the battle Report Team someone I worked very closely with was Pat rice yeah yeah
14:19
um and we got along really well um he's no longer there he's back holding fully automatic machine guns yeah um The
14:26
Thin Blue Line against yeah crime jumping around chatting around London people with like little like masks and
14:32
Swag Bags apparently like he's playing Modern Warfare in real life I just hope if you get shot he can
14:38
respawn he can um he's far too nice to get shot
14:44
um yeah the friendliest human I think I've ever yeah absolutely the same luscious beard as well yeah anyway
14:51
um what I was gonna say yeah because he uh it was kind of like that sort of like like my Pat was a big fan of Warhammer
14:58
previously I sort of not necessarily aware of it hadn't really played it in a
15:04
long time it was a startis that that sort of brought of course yeah back into it as I as I think it did with loads of
15:10
other people and seeing it reviewed on other shows that I watch on YouTube and all that kind of stuff so yeah we were
15:17
he was a big Big Ideas pushing for for tick tocks other
15:24
um tactics shows and that kind of thing but because battle report was way more
15:30
labor intensive than was initially planned from
15:35
um it they just didn't happen yeah which was a shame yeah I suppose when when you get like workloads I mean I've had that experience many times where like there's
15:41
loads of things you want to do but sometimes the work gets in the way of yeah trying to make the work better by doing other things yeah yeah because I
15:48
think it was meant to get to a stage where you know battle report would kind of look after itself and then it would be like right what's what's season two
15:55
hmm and that was meant to be I mean Warhammer plus launched in August yeah I think it was Orchestra I
16:02
mean it was meant to launch in July but one person in the office got covered and that delayed the whole launch of
16:08
Warhammer plus which I think was a blessing as opposed to yes yeah yeah I mean we would have really struggled yeah
16:15
um to get the back reps out and stuff like that but um yeah it and then it was meant to be
16:22
as far as I'm aware a season two so tactic shows and all that kind of thing
16:27
um but yeah battle report was so intensive and we were having to pull
16:33
from from other people so Joe helped out Eddie yes yeah yeah and all that kind of stuff which
16:39
That season for you being the YouTube painting presenter oh that was terrible yeah I didn't do anything he didn't do
16:44
anything yeah I like all the big alt releases nothing got done yeah there were no videos on those I think that
16:49
that we're out like getting two in it I mean obviously there's many reasons for someone moving on and stuff like that I definitely think there was there was a
16:55
period of like five to six months where I felt useless I wasn't doing anything you did a lot of tiny I did a lot of
17:01
tied in hoovering and I was even corridors and Studios and stuff like that and I just felt like really sort of
17:07
unneutilized and I think that started my journey here yeah there's more to life
17:13
than this I don't mind hooven I used to work in Hospitality that's not what I applied for yeah no no that's it
17:20
um and uh I remember I think everybody was at the office I
17:26
think you must have the I've got the Post-it note somewhere and it just says peachy naked bum time yeah or like
17:32
people naked Friday bum time yeah everyone like I wasn't involved in this meeting everyone in the studio just been involved in invited yeah there's one
17:39
meeting which I wasn't invited to I got a little bit left out so I just got a load of poster notes there was about 25 I just wrote by hand and stuck on
17:45
everyone's seats yeah because I just sat and everyone said I didn't actually sit naked but I pretended to yeah so I just
17:50
went around the whole office and had about 12 cups of tea at the time whilst it was out that was so sad and lonely
17:58
but yeah so I mean you you did some stuff on Battle report you did it for
18:03
what about six months yeah six months yeah so you had reasons for lean and you
18:09
don't have to go into those but well I think I think like um the thing about ways to sort of phrase this and all that
18:15
kind of thing and it's like I've been self-employed for quite a long time probably four years yeah okay
18:21
anything like that um and and you know GW is obviously its own big thing and I've never worked for
18:27
like a good company before and all that sort of stuff um and it's like like you said previously like oh I didn't sign up for
18:33
this like I was hired as a shooter editor but ended up the way
18:39
things were just doing editing okay um and I think you know there's two ways of looking at it like if I was a team
18:46
player I would have been like I'll just do all the editing it's fine um but then on the other side it's kind
18:52
of like people would say in my reviews they're like are you fulfilling your job description I'll be like no yeah yeah
18:59
um so that was a little bit frustrating um sort of that kind of thing like because I come from doing the shooting
19:05
and the editing yeah Mike it's it's nice to do well as we all know your shooting is very very good it's all right I think
19:13
I disagree I mean like there's good comments about like the the video I'm filming on what
19:20
we're doing at the moment which is great um and like selecting the music people say the music's good
19:26
um and that's kind of like Again part of what I've done a lot I think with like shoot the video edit it I probably use
19:33
it to it but in the videos we do nobody says you're my soulmate and I love you and I'll spend the rest of my life with
19:39
you um I do um I think I think I do the fundamentals
19:47
you know two and two were started yeah again I think you know the drack of Jack of all trades like
19:54
um the the guys at GW uh um I don't know if they'll want me to
19:59
name drop them maybe I'll beat them out um so those guys do the uh product yeah
20:06
videography yeah so for those of you that don't know if you see a video that says
20:13
kill teams going up for pre-order and you see the cool they do probe shots yeah you know inspiration I mean I'm not
20:19
their inspiration their minds yeah yeah absolutely um so none of my ideas were original
20:29
um so like those guys incredible like they shoot anything yeah and they make them look amazing
20:35
um like given given a bit more time I think they like would be able to produce some oh yeah absolutely yeah certain
20:42
stuff what they do already is incredible um I know that that turnaround time so
20:47
they're given are so short so they kind of stick to that sort of style but setups everything lovely guys so loads
20:54
of stuff about shooting Miniatures I sort of love from that way yeah the thing for me is like sometimes we've got
20:59
like really talented creatives that they are put into a box and left in that box and kind of expand outside that box so
21:05
it's like when you put a fish in a pond it's the size it lives to the size of the pond yeah until you put it to a
21:12
bigger Pond do they grow yeah so I mean that's what I like to see my journey is like I was a fish in a pond I've now
21:17
been removed from that pond and put elsewhere yes I get to expand my skill set I get to try new things likewise as
21:23
well I think like um sort of like the intros for battle report were kind of like I'm not gonna
21:29
say oh they were my idea yeah um but the because we got lots of feedback and and all that sort of stuff
21:35
but like the the 360s and you know the the budget Mandalorian yeah volume which
21:42
is just a monitor yeah yeah yeah I I filmed some of the first ones of those
21:48
um just with a cloth over my computer just like to cut down on the reflection yeah people were like oh I'd love to
21:55
work again so always show them myself endless resources and it's just cloth you have endless talented people that
22:00
are resourceful before we get sacrificed to The Golden
22:06
Throne and start our own YouTube channel absolutely yes this is the way [Laughter]
22:13
don't cross the street I don't know maybe no who cares so yeah so I mean you you you left yeah that was about October
22:19
time which was sad I remember we got some pictures of you yeah because I had an app where making female and old and
22:25
he's sexy as a female people sexy as an old man as well wherever he is well I
22:30
remember when you took those pictures there was old man and cool old man and I
22:36
think a cool old man has like a better kept being he does he does he does look like Captain bird's eye yeah yeah the
22:42
amount of people who come in here would be like is this his sister and I'm like no
22:49
apparently Jeff thinks it's a sister yeah yeah um assistant I got I got some
22:54
um I got some cool leaving presents I am so there's people well people probably haven't seen it so there's the land
23:00
speeder um which is what brother because um Pat price showed me like the uh I
23:07
have tinnitus two heavy weapons um and and that I was some stitches so
23:15
so when I left uh yeah that that handed to me um which was fun
23:21
um so yeah no I and it was sad to go yeah but um but yeah like me and Jefferson
23:27
um I like I I used Jess Miniatures for my sort of application video okay that
23:32
kind of thing a death guard and the guy holding the the just the standard Bear yeah so um and he was in a podcast with
23:40
one of his mates who moved back up to Scotland um but the other side of Hadrian's Wall
23:46
keep him out I say yeah it's not a great wall these days though
23:53
I grew up in Cumbria I think Scottish people Grace you're just saying that because of the
24:00
common so they're checking spares yeah get away
24:07
what one do we say what would Louise say if she watched this right now yeah
24:14
he's Pat Taylor yeah I used to do this all the time right so this is the thing of workshop and I still do this now
24:19
because yeah we'll talk about AK versus VK uh just a little segue here so oh we're not sponsored by AKA they just
24:27
said there's some nice mugs they I drank my tea out of it they kindly emailed us and said can we send you some stuff use
24:32
it on the channel if you like it um and they sent us some mugs because they know that we drink lots of tea these are quite thick mugs I think you
24:38
could kill a man with these mugs probably yeah so yeah me words right when people introduce me to someone
24:44
because you were introduced as Pat price and Pat Taylor was introducer Pat Taylor oh Patty was introduced as Hetty yeah um
24:51
and there's a couple of like the Hoover and yeah and once that happens with me I it takes an age I can't remember why but
24:58
someone said VK ones to me instead of AKA and then VK stuck but that's a drink
25:04
um a different kind of drink not tea so yeah every now and again when we're talking about oh have you got these VK pics uh AK paints around so I just I
25:11
don't know if it's my brain just I'm just stupid I think that's the bottom line but but yeah so
25:16
um yeah you you just went and left left me it did abandonment I I I I uh I felt
25:24
like it was an episode of Downton Abbey yeah and I've been like father I can't live in these conditions anymore I want
25:30
to marry a commoner um and then you're out excommunicated
25:38
um um which which is quite funny um so yeah uh yeah Jeff uh his podcast suddenly came to an end yeah um he'd
25:45
been my barber for a few years he knew me when I uh used to work at economy Center in town bring us up
25:50
um there as well so we've known each other for ages it was just sort of like like I when I first went to GW I
25:57
remember being asked they were like you know what what would you like to do video or editing and I was like oh probably you know the video Yeah stuff
26:04
uh and it was like painting or gaming and I was like painting interestingly the most and then I was an editor on Battle report which I thought was quite
26:09
funny um imagine that story thread if you'd have been put into painting would we still be there now master class would
26:16
look very different yeah I think masterclass would look like the painting videos I make here yeah that's what I would try yeah yeah that's what I'm
26:23
thinking if because like I was part of that team yes it was a part of that team you know yeah it's like would we be
26:29
doing cooler funnel videos I don't know everything happens for us yeah yeah absolutely I think
26:34
um it's I mean there's there's loads of different like you know things with
26:39
things with Games Workshop like I think after Duncan left you know this is purely speculation on my part uh is is
26:46
nothing official I've got loads of good things to say about getting to workshop and you know yeah I was there for 20
26:52
years yeah you know you've got to love a company if you've been there for 20 years absolutely so yeah it's not all bad no it's just like evidently and you
26:58
get like a kick up yes the way I used to see I used to describe it to people was like you you fall out with your family
27:04
every now and again right yeah and then you make up and then you have like an argument really pathetic one like with your sister or your brother about
27:10
something like yeah yes I used to find workshops very much like that every Nanny game like what are you doing now yeah what what's going off in your head
27:16
and that stuff I think we'll talk about like in further chat like sort of mentioned in the comments about that the end times and the world that was being
27:23
blown up in this area but it'd be nice to know I'd like to talk about that because I've got positive thoughts and negative thoughts about it but but yeah
27:30
you you have those times where you're just like why you being on that and then you know for me I love the well yeah I
27:37
still you know enjoyed the products that you make and the things that they do yeah Miniatures are awesome yeah you get
27:42
to work with some some really like passionate people that's the big thing um people you work with yes yeah I think
27:48
so like this guy yeah and go get to work each other Jeff City it's great yeah
27:54
he's just fun yeah so it's someone in a comment recently said Jeff Patton peachy and everyone else behind the scenes
28:00
there is no behind the scenes Kerris they're making tea for us every now and again she does supplies with a lot of
28:06
biscuits actually she does yeah yeah we've all gone somewhere I I took I took them off the table yeah
28:17
so the painting phase itself said I mean obviously you and Jeff chatted Jeff had a podcast you did videography and then
28:25
getting us back in track you came honestly I remember you sending me some direct messages on Instagram yeah
28:30
chatting to me and go hey I'm thinking of doing this because I I was already planning ideas of what I'd like to do if
28:36
I moved on because I I already like a year before I left was wanting to to live on and do other things yeah not
28:42
because I hated anything or anything I just uh I guess like we said the the summer of plus just ruined it for me I
28:50
think like it was change change is always hard oh yeah it
28:55
changes the constant Workshop yeah and and and and more humble plus is like a
29:00
big shift yeah in stuff and and like when something great you know you have growing pains and this stuff and the
29:07
other and I sort of look at the department um I've got you've gone that price when
29:14
Harry went that's quite yeah quite a few people yeah I think there was only 10 11 of us
29:20
yeah I mean more of Common Sense and stuff like that fill the gaps and stuff yeah
29:25
yeah that original warhampton yeah yeah it's mad but yeah so you um you
29:31
obviously had a great name you sent you chat to me in the DMS going hey I've got some videos because I was like sending you some stuff like I've been playing
29:37
around on my iPhone I had an idea of like doing this it was the 41st clone troopers the um the kashiq kind of
29:45
scheme I didn't like a little paint gun on that yeah and I shared it with you again what do you think so that's a video we should do because a few people asked about that how I do the camo yeah
29:51
dead easy sponge um just giving you a little teaser there just a teaser but you started sending me
29:57
some stuff which was like Hey I'm doing this and you sent me the logo I was like that is an amazing thing because I've been like coming up with ideas of what
30:03
would I have peachy tips you know yeah um there was like all sorts of like random comments and Company like designs
30:10
and stuff like that you started showing me this stuff oh my mates made this logo I was like that is that is a baller of a
30:16
there you go that's a great name yeah and then you start sending through some of your shows before you launched them
30:21
yes I was watching them I was like this is amazing your intro as well you know your very first video where you're just
30:27
talking other than like my own worries yeah yeah it's like I was like yeah you're gonna nail it I'm gonna nail it
30:33
and you did because I mean I even before I turned them like your numbers were just increasing each month yeah for
30:38
someone that was never a face of Workshop yes like you know we've Jeff been in the room as well obviously
30:43
you've done some podcasts and stuff but to see that progression so quickly that that tells me that as a a channel
30:51
it's going to do all right yeah yeah I think it was it was interesting I think the iron Warriors the first time Wars
30:57
video we did uh or I did um came out quite like a all the heresy
31:03
stuff was coming out of course yeah I think and and I I released it and it was it was ticking over and it was doing okay
31:10
um and then GW released their half paint eye warriors for the heresy thing and I
31:16
think and then YouTube was like oh yeah and connected the dots and then it was like suddenly I had like 70 000 views on
31:22
that video yeah um which was crazy um and like we some like we don't hit
31:27
those numbers on on some of these videos so it was
31:32
really fascinating how it worked yeah um and for me that that was gonna be what it was uh like a three-part series
31:39
like where I go I want to paint a warps with as nine Warrior I don't know anything so learn how to paint I'm
31:44
Warriors first and I followed along with uh some tutorials from yeah content creators and sort of like got their sort
31:51
of blessing to to release it and stuff which I think when obviously the wedding editing's settle down it'll be nice to
31:56
see more of those videos because yeah I thought that was a really nice niche where you would like watch different content creators how they do their
32:03
videos and then you follow theirs and then yeah because it's almost like a review of someone else's channel that
32:10
someone like yeah little Tim or like Susie they're just getting the topic and go which is the best one for me to learn
32:15
how to paint these models and you'll be like yeah this one's really good for these reasons this one's really good for these reasons I combine these two to do
32:21
this one yeah yeah so I think that's a really sort of positive and also it's like
32:26
we're all in the same hobby we're all in the same boat you're also helping those guys out by sending traffic to their
32:33
Channel yeah yeah I hope so like that was my intention I followed them on patreon for a while and and supported
32:39
them that way as well for sort of being like thank you for the content and allowing me to make mine yeah um and and as well like I knew I wanted
32:46
to do like you know some individual videos but as I am crapper painting right I'll document my sort of
32:52
how I would approach learning how to paint and most people will just follow YouTube tutorials yeah
32:59
um and stuff like that and uh yeah I really enjoyed it and I do I think probably after Christmas I think will be
33:04
the next time that I'll be able to sort of go right I've got enough time to yeah make another one
33:10
um it's like I've got Gaz built up but I mean I've got all this stuff like
33:17
I need to paint Rock Army I think I want to paint all my custodies using your oh yes sir and being like because we did
33:23
say Peter kills him in an evening or an Army in a weekend yeah they're like right how much can I think yeah yeah I
33:29
think that would be interesting so I would like leads me on to the the next part of my sort of conversation which is
33:35
where do you see us going because obviously you you called upon gondorg yes Gondor actually you know came yes
33:43
sort of the beacons were it's the opposite way around I mean I'm I'm not you're very hand I'm going to I'm gonna
33:49
tell me this time yeah the West fold won't fall not this time it's not gonna fall the West fold is not gonna fall
33:54
we're gonna shank Sarah man up to the taxi there's your white handmade sticky where
34:01
there's something so uh so yeah Gondor came to your aide this time around that took a doctor
34:21
yeah and I know the few people that may have what may be watching this when it's on
34:27
um someone said what would you be if you're in the Mortal Realms and I wasn't
34:32
really paying attention and I was like I can't remember if I was doing something else and like I'm sure Wade answered I'm
34:38
sure Ben answered and Nick answered and then like Wade was like oh peachy the question is what would you be if you
34:43
were anything in the Mortal Realms I was like oh never got to saddle and I carried on I didn't want to be Sat On by
34:49
nephrata I mean come on and it just you know sometimes wearing your headline that's something better in
34:56
my head and then yeah do the old man but yeah sometimes my
35:03
internal policeman fails me but you can do that yeah just don't swear as much as
35:08
early as I do I'll have retail doors closed your house party mouth comes out yeah
35:13
yeah I've learned to control that these days yeah but yeah you called upon me to to join on the uh the channel which is
35:19
Temple and I said yeah because it's also mental yeah yeah I know the wife would say that she's like you're mad you know
35:26
we had a few conversation about it and she was well aware like a whole year into into my turmoine of moving on and doing
35:34
some other stuff yeah and I kind of put like a statement out when I left which was like you know for a plant to grow
35:39
you've got to be repotted yeah that's that's kind of my ethos as well as I wanted to do all the stuff not saying
35:45
that um and we had conversation with people at head office like you know it's a market Department you do a
35:50
certain thing I want I want to do a certain thing to help people and we do get slated on the shorts with the style
35:56
of paint that I do because it's messy slopping I make myself look ridiculous don't care what you think I'm helping every a lot of people out there get more
36:03
normal yeah models yeah no I think as as we get more eyes on the channel um I've started looking at in some ways
36:10
it'd be like oh it's getting more hate that means it's getting more views
36:15
I mean that's that I mean there's always going to be haters out there oh yeah whether I mean I I got to this
36:21
realization way before I even started working in um YouTube videos which was
36:27
no matter how hard you're trying no matter what you do you someone's going to hate you for whatever reason your face doesn't fit they don't like your
36:33
style they don't like the way you hold your brush they don't like the fact you're left-handed you're bold you've got a beard yeah you've got red hair you
36:40
exist you exist and there's so many reasons and I'm pretty tough to that and I don't care what people think if they
36:45
don't like what I do move on yeah you like stuff that other people do um I'm aiming at people that entry level
36:51
beginners then show them some extra stuff and down the line I'm gonna learn stuff I want to learn how to like I said like Jeff well now first interview like
36:57
I'm learning about to do military model in airbrushing yeah I want it to be a journey like your videos where you are
37:03
watching other content yeah yeah yeah yeah because we got some weathering pencils from these fellas which are amazing I've been watching their videos
37:09
on how to use weathering pencils and learning how to weather in pencils I want to introduce that did you make sure you commented saying make sure you learn
37:16
how to do weathering pencil tutorials before you put one out on the internet it looks stupid yeah
37:24
I thought yeah what do they know I'm an artist I've used pencils all my
37:30
life oh yeah you're holding it wrong yeah uh so yeah it was um really
37:35
interesting for me to do these things but obviously you have plans and ideas which is why you brought me on yeah New
37:41
Years come in I know you've got some ideas for that so where do you see the channel going I know that was like a a
37:47
short story long yeah we literally got to a short story long yeah that made it really sort of like weird and awkward and talked about
37:52
Gondor and Starman showing his hand up his bum but we got to the point at the end okay did you see the channel again
37:59
really really stuck with me at that point um you know I think like I'm really
38:05
happy with what we've done at the moment um I think like you know the the talk
38:10
shows have been going down really well yeah which which is really nice to see um because that's something that's been a staple with like me and Jeff uh that
38:18
our first video was like a talk show and it was kind of like a magazine sort of like oh we'll talk about 100 plus then
38:23
we'll talk about that talk about whereas I think because we realized something a bit less formal and and just like people can
38:30
connect with a bit more um which I think is really cool so and to a certain extent it's quite nice to
38:38
not have solid plans yes yeah so we can be you know Guided by what we want to do
38:46
what people enjoy and and like watching you know
38:51
um because but you know we do we are in a position where it's like we do have to
38:57
succeed yeah oh absolutely yeah we can't um you'll be like right we did that video and I got five D's yeah let's do
39:05
another ten yeah I mean from just being here for
39:10
like a month or so already I've like we were very specific with Cassie Nando yes K k2so yeah and when that was a short
39:17
did better than cassidas are sure yeah even though we had like some really nice feedback about Cassie which was yeah uh
39:22
yeah I left my seven-year-old son yeah with some Paints in the video and yes and they showed us that picture of our
39:28
lovely patrons yes it was one of our lovely patrons but it was really nice to know that the the video that you've done works for anyone that's got like no time
39:35
yeah wants to get stuff done quickly or there's an age level there as well it's like you're still quite new I'm still
39:41
young yeah but I can follow along with it yeah and I think like what like some people either forget or
39:49
don't realize um or we don't tell them like me and Jeff touched on this with um
39:55
we'd like there's some the previous chat show that we did um was it's kind of like you know we're
40:00
not for everybody with yeah style of painting that we did we are like aiming for people yeah getting into the Hobby
40:07
and being like I have all this great place there's some fantastic comment on Instagram recently somebody showed
40:13
a section of like the rusty Gala Ducks yes yeah and it looked exactly like
40:18
yours yeah yeah and the crude as well which yeah which is such a positive for me it's like if someone if I can do a
40:24
video Yeah and your paint job looks the same as mine I'm a happy man yeah yeah and and I was I was like I was like that
40:30
looks exactly the same yeah that's amazing um and I said like that's awesome and he was like no thanks for like turning this
40:37
manly bro plastic and it'll be the confidence to paint it and I was like amazing yeah that's kind of like tick
40:42
yeah and we've all got mountains are great plastic spending problem potential mine's mine's film set yeah yeah that's
40:49
true mine's in a wooden box yeah it's like that's from 1980.
40:56
Channel going places um I think it would be like I think the talk shows
41:01
will always be like uh like one of the ten poles of yes yeah that we do which I think we're reassure a few people
41:07
because they like them yeah exactly um like I wanting I'm conscious of is
41:13
like we talked about our experiences like working in Games Workshop and I'm going to sort of like you know six months so you could probably talk about
41:19
it for ages but I did only work there for six months a year ago yeah it was like I don't want to be the person or
41:27
the channel that's that's sort of like and then this happens yeah and then this
41:32
person said this and this is all my opinion and I'm yeah and like I I just
41:38
don't really want to go no no or be that sort of like controversial sort of I
41:44
mean 20 years of work in there there's a I I could talk about loads of things about them but a lot of it is just
41:50
humans being humans people being people yeah I don't blame Games Workshop for that no I blame the person that made
41:56
that stupid comment I blame the person that did that thing I believe yeah and even that it's like why did they do that what was in the head at the time you
42:02
know as a manager you got to like think a little bit more as to the reasons why that happened and stuff but yeah that
42:08
I've I've definitely seen the trend of like a lot of folks come in get quite sort of like hit up by the way the
42:13
business operates and I think it's at that like we said in uh previous channel um the first one me and Jeff talked
42:20
about was that Schism and moving from a small business or a big business yeah I think a lot of folks have come in at
42:25
that time yeah and it is a bit disjointed it's a bit sort of like what's going on where's you know I remember the the 10 years straight of
42:32
like just nothing but hobby loving fun yes um yeah but it's interesting that you
42:37
use the word family um previously because I see
42:43
from my point of view coming coming into it not being like a huge like Warhammer
42:49
like fan um like you know a year ago what have you like whenever when a massive
42:55
business that makes 100 million profit a year uses the word family that's that I
43:03
am like no you say we're a family and we support each other that's how you exploit your staff you get into work
43:08
overtime yeah yeah yeah and all that and and that kind of thing so there's there's kind of like some of that small
43:14
but you're like yeah hit the nail on the head that small business mentality but the big business kind of thing and it was just like no we do this and we do
43:20
this and we're all two players we're a family yeah um and that's why I was like I left the family yeah yeah yeah and and
43:28
it's it is it is really interesting it's quite fascinating yeah yeah I've heard that a few times you know it is a
43:34
mechanism that people use I mean I've obviously been around lots of stuff that I've known in a relationships so yeah I
43:39
guess it's the staff yeah and like because I was new yeah yeah and you know not a huge sort of like Warhammer like
43:46
you know Max would be into the hobby yeah um so I was like this is a job yeah and then yeah and and then so yeah and
43:52
you know it's turned into a lot more which I'm super thankful for um but uh yeah it's it was and I'm also
43:59
thankful for yeah that's what I get to do stuff that I've always wanted to do yeah it's good you've got the camera
44:05
skills and the equipment to uh that's it but yeah I think there's there's loads of stuff I want to do I think part of
44:11
starting the painting videos was like I I want to show what I what I would
44:17
have done if I was still there yeah yeah and given the opportunity to do the painting video so the iron Warriors one was kind of like I'd use that camera and
44:24
that lens and I'd edit it like this and and like the format of it all and that sort of stuff which is kind of what we
44:29
do with with like your videos Yeah well yeah um and the feedback on them is really nice which is good always room
44:34
for improvement I know we're like I'm amazing and I make the business in the world uh because I don't
44:41
um and it can always improve yeah yeah yeah I mean I've always thought that whenever I do a video the next one to do
44:47
it could be better and where again we touched on this in previous conversations but yeah and when I say it could be better it could be like a way I
44:53
enunciate words or the way I introduce it or the way I do the Highlight on that
44:58
particular code or the way I do this so it doesn't have to be you don't have to and this is like the thing I used to say to a lot of people that came into the
45:04
presenting rules like don't try and fix everything then we'll go just pick one thing we'll work on that pick another thing worked on there yeah it's the same
45:10
reverse I mean we're learning as we're going like like the ktso video wasn't as good as the others yeah
45:16
um the Stormtrooper not story but the Clone troop one even though it did a bit better it still wasn't like in
45:21
comparison to like the breaches or like the castings but then it's Star Wars and in my head I think there's a lot of
45:27
people like Star Wars surely that like this but then not many people play Legion as much as they do 40K yes so
45:33
you've got to balance those out but you've still gotta cater to those other things yeah yeah that's it we have like I think what what we have is we don't
45:41
have a strict set of rules um and we've got room to maneuver yeah um like I I love YouTube I've been like
45:48
I've been wanting to start a channel for donkeys years but I always go I don't know what I'd do yeah but I knew that
45:54
whatever ever I would do um I'd give it a good go and I think
45:59
I'll be successful at it um like I I really love like a lot of
46:04
the style of how I like to do the painting videos comes from the guys I've been watching for ages
46:10
there's a there's a blacksmith called Alex Steele good name yeah yeah it's
46:16
fantastic yeah like part of me thinks you know for me murdered um but I don't think you did because
46:22
he's he's spelled slightly different yeah but it like yeah it's fantastic and and I have zero interest in
46:31
trying blacksmithing yeah um I don't I don't want to know how to make a falcon or a scimitar yeah or
46:39
whatever but this this guy in Norfolk and him and his videographer he's just
46:44
like right we're going to embark on a 20-part series on uh how to make a Zippo lighter and I'm just like yes Alec
46:51
inject it into my face um and I love it because he's a fantastic host
46:59
and they take you through the process in like a really interesting way and the
47:05
videography is wicked right they have loads of awesome shots where like they're hammering on like red hot steel
47:11
and Sparks are going everywhere and I'm just like um and and that that for me I think it's
47:17
a good video if somebody can watch it that doesn't necessarily know what we're doing so like the painting tutorials
47:24
that they're very specific already yeah um so so when you sort of like we're
47:30
going to show you how to paint the this um and somebody might go well I don't want
47:35
to know how to paint that go away um what I think is fantastic about like your tutorials is there's loads of
47:41
techniques that you could yeah pull out to take things yeah everything yeah but it is a big ask to go
47:46
watch this video on space force even though you don't want to paint space doors yeah yeah um and that kind of thing so so I think for me like what I'm
47:53
really interested in is kind of like almost like the story based videos um which is to a certain degree I think
48:00
is what like a lot of the bigger YouTubers uh yeah are going down so like squidma hasn't done a this is how you
48:08
always highlight this is how you do pen Space Marine yeah I like the other one of those videos and agencies kind of like we're going to make this big
48:14
diorama and they're getting loads of views because they're appealing to a wider audience yes whereas I know that
48:19
some people that are kind of like previous watches of his videos it's just kind of like I don't watch them anymore
48:25
yeah because they're kind of like this kind of aspirational story yeah stuff so I think it'd be nice to try and find the
48:32
balance I think if the painting phase can be like a One-Stop shop for
48:38
it's like I want to do some tactic shows yeah like I don't yeah yeah I haven't
48:43
played 4K so I don't want to be like I think I mean me and Jeff talked about it
48:48
like a 10 minute like right okay here's a bit like you know people have names
48:53
for guy I'm gonna use the Swarovski opener and have you in Checkmate in five moves
49:00
um whatever I don't know I don't know what that was but it sounded Mega yeah but there's there's names for stuff yeah
49:07
yeah and and so like if someone was like I'm gonna show you MC Pinchy moves yeah
49:12
um and and being like right or like here's how to use transient physiology yeah like that kind of thing yeah like I
49:19
feel like that has a lot of use and it's really helpful to the Hobby as well it reminds me of the white dwarf articles
49:25
which was like the tactica in white dwarf but in video format yeah which because you can like see different
49:31
um because it's all done in words and someone's all the time you have to like use your imagination to work it out but actually seeing that in action like
49:37
here's a common mistake of what people might do yeah try and avoid that if you can this is what happens if you fight against this side you don't have this
49:43
size yeah yeah and one of the things I'd like to we're kind of touched on a bit with like the shadowvale box set and the
49:49
um into dark box here is do you remember when I did I don't know if you ever watched them I did um two sort of
49:54
narrative campaigns on live during lockdown one was uh The Dungeons of hagga valky and I basically played war
50:00
cry but because it was remotely done I kind of turned it into like a DND sort of Style game I saw like your sets for
50:07
this though yeah yeah literally just used a box and a couple of them webcams and then uh it was all like narrative
50:12
driven and there was some dice roll in them we used the rules as much as we could but like the measurement was a bit awkward because people couldn't measure
50:19
so they're like describe where you want to go tell me what you want to do yes it will work it that way and then I did one for
50:24
um nakamunda as well which I really enjoyed and I was painting gangs at the time yeah so each episode was a new
50:30
gangit and there was always like a narrative reason why you'd fight against the new gang one of the things I'd like to to explore with these videos is
50:37
kind of go back to those narrative campaigns like I don't know like an into dog yeses benches and fruit but over
50:45
several games make it quite theatrical yeah have it narrative so it feels like you're watching nightmare of all the old
50:51
TV shows yeah but there's the sort of Suite of videos which shows you how to paint that gang yeah it shows you how to
50:58
paint that again it shows you how to paint the scenery but then going down that Squidward which is like if you want a doll's house it and make like the
51:06
um murder chamber and the banquet hall and yeah the old catacomb sort of burial
51:12
ground we have like videos that share today so you've almost got like here's a cool campaign but here's all the stuff
51:18
yeah I mean obviously that's like a bit of time invested in there and maybe here for a few months you do it but that's
51:23
definitely what I'd like to see myself get a bit as well yeah of course yeah I think like the um like a lot with the
51:32
channels at the minute um I think it hires it Eric's hobby Workshop maybe something like that or
51:37
there's another chap who same I can't remember and and he was like I'm gonna make my uh like the
51:45
American kind of like mine train so yeah yeah it's just like I'm gonna make this and and it's just like he's talking to
51:51
you how it makes it and they he I think with the same guy did like a Cassian uh k2so kind of like diorama as well so
51:59
like diorama building seems quite popular and all that sort of stuff we'll talk about that the other day wouldn't we because I've got hold of the
52:05
um crashed drop not drop ship Escape pod that's got the droids in it yeah and I did and I got the I want to say magmad
52:13
Roth remains it's something magma B it's basically the language off is is it's not right I think it's like Mega draw or
52:20
something like that it's basically an age of Sigma skeleton beats okay yeah and I painted one up and used as a backdrop as a crate Dragon yeah put some
52:27
Star Wars figures out um and I was like that would be and I put some sound like actual normal sound yeah we're talking
52:32
about like doing little cool diorama set as a video which is like the the little sort of Crash thing with like the Droids
52:37
coming out of it yeah maybe some Jowers shine Martini in the background yes because you don't want the jower and
52:43
they're fuzzy we all know that from Mandalorian and Boba Fett they are what do uh jowas order at the bar my TV
52:51
um but yes I think I'm talking to you I'll see you you're dying in the corner yeah
52:58
I think there's there's loads there's loads of videos that we can do
53:03
um but one thing I really want to focus on is is making it accessible it being of use to people
53:10
um and just sort of like keeping with kind of like the what what we've developed yeah and sort of really like
53:17
um and and just have fun I think that's the most yeah thing like I don't like we
53:23
need the videos to be successful um because otherwise we'll have to stop making them yeah and uh and and that
53:29
would be sad for all and that would be sad except for those people that hate like my shorts yes very happy
53:35
or two of them yeah um so uh yeah I think I'm I'm like super
53:43
excited for what you know we'll potentially become you know in the
53:49
future like I would absolutely love to do film like a tactic show um but we need you know probably another
53:56
presenter um potentially another editor but that you know is Muddy so it's kind of like
54:01
you know keeping things small and manageable to begin with um but I think you know growth growth is
54:07
good yeah um like I I don't want I don't think I want to be like a massive corporate
54:13
region and all that sort of stuff because I think like having this like friendly
54:18
um sort of atmosphere where we can all just pitch in and do stuff I think the the thing for me as well is like as long as we've all enjoying what we do because
54:25
that was a big drive for me in any workplace yeah enjoy what you do enough to put food on the table or pay
54:32
the bills yeah that that's really it for me as long as and it and you know I don't want to be a millionaire living in
54:38
a huge house that I can't afford to heat driving cars I can't afford to float with petrol
54:43
um I just want to be happy enjoy my home enjoy my family enjoy doing my job yeah yeah and you know
54:49
um come to work with a big smile on my face and leave her with a smile on the face looking yeah I mean at the moment right and my wife's like oh are you sure
54:55
you're not working too hard I'm like no because like and she doesn't really mind because she's a bed at this point but I
55:01
like to do extra prep in the evenings do I get things built up or do like some edits to my script even though I spend
55:06
time editing it here when we script anyway because I don't know the way I've said it yeah but it's that kind of driver yeah of like I want to make it
55:14
work yes and yeah also like working out how how Risa did my first uh tuition
55:20
one-to-one tuition yeah and on patreon on patreon uh and uh Andy was talking to
55:26
he uses ABS he was like you might be worth getting OBS because he's got some better qualities too I've been playing around with that for some reason it
55:32
won't let me um run it properly at the moment yeah um so there's a lot of me like just
55:37
tinkering around at night time working why why is this not working yeah why can't I get this to work so yeah so there's a lot of night obviously like
55:43
doing Social Media stuff as well because we have to like response about the patreons and like focus on the old internets one one thing I'm really
55:50
really enjoying that I was initially like a bit sort of skeptical of is is the Discord yeah yeah I love it I think
55:55
it's great because quite often like I'm like oh someone's added me into a group chat um but uh like the community we have
56:03
um he's he's fantastic yeah yeah I mean for my sins I'm not on it enough I don't think because I I tend to respond a lot
56:10
to the YouTube stuff yeah um and like Instagram and whatever um but Discord I'll see like the little
56:16
come up oh I'll get back to that in a minute yeah well I've got on my phone but yeah inevitably being a parent what
56:21
will happen is that Daddy Let's Play Cars it doesn't sound like that obviously daddy so I don't like playing with cars and
56:28
like then he's got like a couple of like Toy Story figures he's like yeah talk like Jesse owls have to put on like oh
56:33
yeah well hello there Charlie how are you doing I'll have to do that for like hours and hours and hours and I'm his
56:42
monkey I am literally a dancing monkey with this kid uh but he loves it uh so
56:47
and then sometimes like oh yeah Discord I was halfway through typing a message on Discord I should probably get back to that yeah yeah halfway whilst you sat
56:53
down at the toilet because it's your first like five minutes of free that's the other thing don't get any free time
56:59
but I love it I'm changing for the world that was the last thing about it without like guarantee man down the future and stuff is like
57:05
um getting a small human hobbyist yeah whether he gets down to that to the
57:10
level of like other small human hobbyists yeah him to make some shots yeah the internet reacts to that so we keep
57:17
bringing it up I'm like not bothered by oh no I mean it sounds like we are but we know it's become that kind of thing
57:22
where you you know you you have you talk about you find like some comments and if I was made of like softer stuff I'll be
57:29
a bit sort of distraught and upset right yeah yeah and I can see like in modern day like when um folks find like the internet abuse
57:37
quite upsetting to the point where it really damages that mental health yeah I can understand that yeah if it got to a
57:43
stage where like people it was kind of like an organized thing like people coming after you yeah that would be
57:48
horrible but the way I look at it is that I I have two coping mechanisms one I don't care
57:54
and two I go yeah I don't care
58:01
but I guess in this day and age when you brought up on like Tech and stuff like that you want you want like instant
58:07
gratification stuff but um my wife tells me I'm rubbish most of the day so I'm kind of used to that kind of level of criticism and she'll be
58:14
watching this going no I don't I thought she doesn't really it just keeps me in line she's she's actually really really
58:19
handy for for the stuff I do because she's been quite um she's watched every video that that's gone out yeah and uh
58:25
she's all that I probably wouldn't have said they like that or you know that's really interesting I didn't know that that's how it used to be and so she's
58:31
quite good at like like picking bits out and like talking about it and sometimes a bit like that hurts but you're right
58:37
you're right yeah yeah yeah because if if we were just showing videos to each other yeah yeah
58:42
um it turns into a bit Echo Champion you don't grow yeah well no I mean I'm
58:48
I think University and college really helped me with like the feedback kind of stuff and yeah no one likes getting criticism for the wife because it does
58:55
feel like a knife in the in the sides but they most of the times then she knows her she's always right always always right
59:02
and I hate to because she is but like like from a creative point of view in a
59:07
sort of um professional point of view when you're doing stuff you can understand and take that question you can like
59:14
digest it a bit differently yeah peg in the washing out and getting like slated for that feels different than screwing up a paint job but what are you getting
59:20
so mean about the pegging but like it's just not saying just for the audience I'm going to come
59:26
to a conversation about pegging in a minute or two and they're just going to trigger some people but it's funny uh but yeah so she's been really good she's
59:32
very good at like looking at stuff and giving me feedback on it because I've had those years of uni and you kind of get used to like you work being ripped
59:38
to pieces and yeah do this better do that better and yeah through my career worship that's that's sort of really
59:44
sort of helped yeah and so when you like a lot of comments actually is like your
59:49
voice keeps trading off and I think that's something that at work they were able to fix now like in posts yeah to a
59:56
certain extent yeah um but it's not something I've noticed but like I Know Dan uh who was the audio guy at work would say yeah you've got
1:00:03
like quite a lot of Peaks and trots whereas it's become quite evident with it it's like I need to be a bit more and you know a few people are mentioning
1:00:09
that so like you know there's always a thing like if someone says a comment and you kind of like right well a certain
1:00:15
amount of people are thinking it and then you see that comment a few times yeah yeah um and then you're like okay this this
1:00:21
is a thing yeah um yeah which is interesting so the pegging comment
1:00:27
so I I am actually naive to this term well I was until the world destroyed my
1:00:32
uh sense of realization so I was in the office one day and I got into the subject of does anyone else's wife Peg
1:00:39
them and everyone just started like because this is not the conversation
1:00:45
why is this not a conversation for the office my wife pays me all the time sometimes I pick her and I know why
1:00:52
you're laughing because I understand it now but uh so I was having this conversation and everyone in the office
1:00:57
has stopped they're all like hands on their heads like what is he saying wait stop talking this is a HR job
1:01:03
remember you should Peg me just before we've gone out gone for a meal and then yeah I went to the urinal and then this
1:01:09
Peg dropped down and they're like what and I was like yeah clothesline plague she's always sticking them on me it gets
1:01:15
really irritating because like we went to it I know you can eat buffet and that I went to the trough and two guys stood either side of me and I was unzip my uh
1:01:21
my hoodie a clothes Peg fell out into the trough and that's where the whole conversation went apparently
1:01:28
internet you need to you've got submissions pegging means something different oh my cheeks hurt
1:01:34
what is wrong with the world what is wrong with the world I don't get it don't get it it's so wholesome just
1:01:41
sticking clothes pegs on each other don't understand why it's become a thing weirdos
1:01:48
so that was the pegging conversation I just thought I'd shut that into the end ah yeah I appreciate that I feel
1:01:56
like we talked about a lot of stuff but simultaneously not much
1:02:05
oh damn everybody just talked about your journey I mean it's been an interesting sort of thing for me it's kind of like an Abridged version yeah yeah maybe
1:02:11
they'll be more specific you should go to specifically like like you know the the plan I'm not giving too much
1:02:17
away I don't know like you know give it away to those out there that just kind of steal our ideas so the grand plan is there is no plan oh good I don't know
1:02:24
that's probably failure to plan this plan to fail that's why I got told as a manager yeah
1:02:30
yeah just shook that yeah you need to work on your planning [Laughter]
1:02:41
I mean uh if you are enjoying this video don't forget to hit that like And subscribe button see I remembered to do
1:02:46
that part fantastic see I always forget because I like I'm
1:02:52
not really usually in the videos that's true yeah which is I want to see more of that because that's what you did start
1:02:57
of yeah like I enjoy um the behind the scenes stuff I think um I was saying to my girlfriend
1:03:04
recently like I think over time and as as like my career is sort of you know
1:03:10
progressed or whatever I find myself as like the the facilitator
1:03:16
um rather than like I'm the star of the show I'm gonna be the star of the show and it's like if I would be like oh yeah
1:03:23
I'd love to be in these videos in that videos but I think what I really like is is say like you know I've facilitated
1:03:30
you being able to make videos that you wanted yeah and that kind of thing and and kind of like
1:03:35
I have we have you know created the channel and it's growing and it's you
1:03:41
know heading in the right direction which is really nice and and it's kind of like you know I quite like the the
1:03:46
behind the scenes kind of stuff yeah in a certain way like admin I'm not very good at yeah um like my assistant's in
1:03:54
uh my sisters did an accountancy course I'm just like how and I've been self-employed for ages I I
1:04:01
I hired an accountant day one yeah because I was just like I know that myself I won't do it I think most people
1:04:07
do that yeah because you know keep your skill set yeah if you're a videographer editor yeah I'm gonna have to learn OBS
1:04:13
soon don't say maybe I'm playing around with it it will might potentially have some sponsored content on the channel
1:04:19
yeah uh at some stage so that will be uh interesting about you know and thinking
1:04:25
about how we can do that because you know we need sponsorship we need money to pay wages and keep the lights on and
1:04:30
survive um but it's kind of like doing that in a way that it our audience will be sort of
1:04:37
like oh that's yeah there's clearly sponsored content that's rubbish yeah I think that's the great thing about uh
1:04:43
our audience or any audience is you know if they don't like it because they'll let you know yeah and I don't mind that
1:04:49
no because that that's the reality check isn't it so I mean that's the great thing about we'll try different things and you know watching this you're going
1:04:56
to see a lot of weird not weird but lots of different things happening over the next few years just like we're going to try this we're gonna try that and you
1:05:02
might go that's amazing keep that because I didn't think like chats would be as popular as they have been but they
1:05:07
apparently is talking about experiences and just things we want to do kind of like I'm fascinated with how things work
1:05:13
and how things are made which I think is why I really like you know the blacksmithing Channel um there was a
1:05:19
lady that uh I always forget a surname Bernadette someone she makes
1:05:25
um Victorian style clothing and it's and or like and but the way she
1:05:30
the videos are assembled they're so engaging and it's so interesting I have I care even less about Victorian
1:05:37
clothing than I do about blacksmithing but her videos are fantastic yeah like she released one recently and it was
1:05:43
like I started and only fans for spicy Victorian ankle pics
1:05:49
and it's like what a video title because it all started from the meme of like
1:05:55
um you know Victorian ladies showing around yeah yeah and and men being like Oh Oh
1:06:00
put your ankles away it's getting stew me um and stuff like that but she just did
1:06:06
this whole video and she was like and you know it was set out three act structure she was like I'm gonna do this
1:06:13
here I am doing it and then let's review yeah and she donated it all to charity and and it was just her and all her
1:06:19
Victorian stuff being like is an ankle um and but fascinating video
1:06:26
um but but what I find more fascinating is is like how well it's done and and
1:06:31
you've got all that sort of stuff like that's kind of like what drives me really yeah yeah interesting yeah and I
1:06:37
mean I'm a big fan of like some wife likes watching DIY things and stuff like that yeah I always like getting ideas you know it's a good Channel when you
1:06:43
can watch a DIY Pro program how to fix the deadlock on your door yes and you then you fix the deadlock on your door
1:06:49
you like that yeah good DIY yeah thank you very much yeah we said this earlier didn't we like with like people being
1:06:55
able to like follow your tutorials and have it look the same yeah is is the the
1:07:02
biggest Testament to how good a tutorial is yeah yeah well hopefully fingers crossed more to come lots more colors I
1:07:09
mean that there's another thing as well I'll check in before we do go which is um a lot of people have been comments have
1:07:15
gone it's really cool I'm always learning something new with these videos a different hack here there will be times where I will be showing the same
1:07:21
hacks because it might be someone's first video you might have seen the hacks a few times by that point so that yes although the color scheme might be
1:07:26
beneficial to you the hacks and sales you might have already understood and learned so do we expect that I do expect some yeah you know things to be
1:07:33
repetitive like the we've got some of the new votan vehicles yeah I think that we'll probably be in a similar scheme to
1:07:41
your votan yeah but it won't necessarily be here's how to paint this yellow vehicle specifically I think approaching
1:07:48
it with a broader brush how to match your contrast painting images with tanks and how you use the contrast on that and
1:07:54
and that that would be if I'm not if I don't if I'm not watching painting Bow
1:07:59
Down oh that's something I I wouldn't have a clue I'd be like because using contrast paints on like a bean Blaze and you'll
1:08:06
be like oh what painful backside yeah so being able to learn of those things and go all right okay brilliant so with
1:08:12
their techniques swap out those colors done yeah um I think that's great but anyway we're waffling we are we are we we always
1:08:19
waffle on these things anyway so that's why it's about it's a chapter yes but yes so um they've got plans plans are a
1:08:25
foot New Year we should see you more on screen hopefully in the new year you've done all year yeah that is the plan it's
1:08:31
good yeah yeah so uh please remember to hit the like And subscribe Button as Pat has said it helps keep the lights on
1:08:38
pays the wages and all that oh yes uh Jeff's mouthing at me
1:08:44
um don't let your wife Peg you that's exactly no we have some affiliate links in the
1:08:52
description more like your wife Peggy whatever you want to close pegs close
1:08:57
pegs yes uh we won't we won't there's no King shaming here that's why uh for the
1:09:04
emperor but what about you've got Pat [Laughter]
1:09:09
um yeah affiliate links in the description patreon uh you can join us on that if
1:09:14
you really want to and it's that's the best way of supporting a channel yeah if you aren't able to that's absolutely
1:09:20
fine too just thank you very much for watching it is incredibly appreciated we love you all
1:09:26
I'm peachy he's Pat that's Jeff he's naked well it's my turn
1:09:33
it's like a Bob Ross downstairs [Laughter]
