Last Updated on December 3, 2021 by FauxHammer

Warhammer 40,000 2021 Battleforce Boxes
If you’re new to the hobby or have recently returned, let me do a quick explainer. Each year (for the last memorable few) Games Workshop has released a selection of Battleforce Boxes each year. In lieu of any kind of Black Friday sales (or any sales for that matter) These boxes represent some of the biggest savings you can get direct from Gee-Dubs (and their FLGS partners).
However, with great savings comes great demand. Last year the battle boxes sold out in minutes. and this year, we have that pesky shipping delays and stock shortages thing to worry about.

Warhammer Community announced back with the release of Kill Team: Octarius, that going forward they would be offering “made-to-order” options with all of their major releases – will this extend to the Christmas Exclusive Battleforce Boxes? Hope so, but I don’t it. Sorry.
Get ready to charge screaming through the virtual door at 10 am on release day to beat your fellow hobbyists to these deals.
Warhammer 40,000 2021 Battleforce Boxes – Release Date
Update: Warhammer Community team have confirmed that these will be available for preorder on December 4th 2021.
December 2021 – and sorry if that’s not 100% clear. All we have to go on right now is the few words the community team have put out.
“All six of these battleforces are coming this December, so stay tuned to Warhammer Community for more details. “
Warhammer Community
Hmm, Well what can we infer from this? “Coming in December” could either mean they are up for preorder in December or released in December (or both)
We also know that pre-orders go live at 10 am on Saturday Mornings, usually a week before release (but there are a few occasions, normally big boxed game releases, where there’s a 2-week preorder window). With so little of the year left there are only a few dates to keep in mind for preorder.
November 20th 2021 – Unlikely, it’s too soon and we know we still have Shadow Throne coming this year.November 27th 2021 – Possible –- December 4th 2021 – I have my money on this being the preorder week.
December 11th 2021 – Possible but I think it’s too late in the year.December 18th 2021 – If they were up for preorder on this date, the release day would be Christmas Day.
This does make me wonder where the long-rumoured GW (not Forgeworld) Horus Heresy box is going to fit in now? Probably in the new year?
Don’t forget we still have Krondys & Karazai coming too!
Let me know what you think in the comments, we’ll update you when we know more.
Warhammer 40,000 2021 Battleforce Boxes – Price & Savings
Update: Some prices have been revealed online. Both Valrak and Foyble have done a breakdown. (massive thanks to these hobby heroes). We have updated the article below and will continue to do so, but please treat these as indicative only, untl the prices have been formally revealed
Once again we don’t know right now. and we probably won’t know until the pre-order day. Last year’s boxes cost £120-£125 ($200-$210 USD) Which was a rough 8% – 13% increase on 2019’s forces.
Based on that experience we could be looking at prices up to £145 ($240 USD) perhaps even more.
Below is a summary of the value from each box, Which is fairly on par with 2020’s boxes.
GBP | USD | EUR | AUD | |
Space Marines – Shieldbreaker Strike Force | £207.00 | $340.00 | €265.00 | $555.00 |

Orks – KillDakka Warband | £193.00 | $314.00 | €249.00 | $471.00 |
Savings wise, we’re once again looking at last year where we had anything from 25% – 37% in savings for these boxes versus buying the units individually at retail. That’s Nothing to sniff at!
So let’s take a look at the individual forces and the Value in each box.
2021 Battleforce – Space Marines – Shieldbreaker Strike Force (Contents, Price, Value & Savings)
An absolute storm of a force here where all of the models (bar the captain) have multiple build and configuration options. Far improved from last year;s Phobos heavy force. this is a set that many Space marine players could be ordering multiple copies of.

2021 Battleforce – Adepta Sororitas – Purgatos Mission (Contents, Price, Value & Savings)
Not a bad starter force or an addition to an existing one. Standard Sisters and Sacresants, but the draw here are the 2 tanks. The Immolator is cool but nothing beats what GW have described as a “long-range, missile-launching pipe organ cum-temple” no, Seriously, they did. (cue childing giggling)

2021 Battleforce – Death Guard – PlagueFester Warband (Contents, Price, Value & Savings)
Despite covering Warhammer Conquest for almost 2 years, I’d completely forgotten about Death Guard as a force due to the lack of releases of late. But here’s a solid force. Personally I’d rather have not seen 3 identical Blight-Haulers and maybe swap in a Foetid Bloat-drone. but ip’m a painter first and like more variety.
If you are starting or building an army, it’s a big (impressive) collection of units.

Warhammer 40,000 2021 Battleforce Boxes Final Thoughts
The jury is out on the value of these as we haven’t seen the prices yet, but anything in the ballpark of last year makes these sets a steal.
Just be very aware that stick will be limited and we have no indication of these being part of the made-to-order approach from GW. So be there with your cash ready on the morning of preorder. And don’t forget you can save even more (like 20% more) by buying these from your local (or online) FLGS.
Oh, here’s a massive list of just such places below……

Useful article, keen to see how they price them.
Think you put the price for 1 doomstalker rather than 2 though.
Thanks, I’ve corrected it now.
You’ve only added the price of one doomstalker to the Necron value so its a better deal than you mention…
You didn’t add the price of the Second Necron Canoptek Doomstalker to the box. It should be total rrp £190
Apologies, now updated
Sorry, now sorted
Thanks for your article 👍
There is a small mistake on the ork set €-price.
What’s the mistake?
